Spent the day on a tour to the High Caucasus today, this is between Gudauri - გუდაური and the pass road to Stepanzminda - სტეფანწმინდა at the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument. It's to be said though that to a lot of Georgians, "friendship" is not the word they'd associate with Russia, especially Soviet Russia for that matter

Georgia
Tumblr media
I love Georgia so much because its location is on the crossroads between two continents: Europe and Asia.
A little trivia for Filipino passport holders, you can enter in Georgia by using your valid Schengen visa. Georgia is one of the countries that do not belong to the 26 countries in the Schengen zone but it offers entry to those who have Schengen visa. However, for Filipinos who don't have Schengen visa, you can apply online and pay for an e-visa fee if you want to travel around the beautiful Georgia.
The things that I love about Georgia: Peaceful Gudauri, Eastern Europe
Guaduari is almost 2 hours car ride from the Georgia's capital, Tbilisi. I had a blast because I got the chance to hike around the beautiful Georgia in a very cold autumn day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holy Trinity Church I love churches. According to our tour guide, it is one of the largest religious building in the world. The place is so solemn inside. I really feel God's presence there. I believe that God is always present with us but I can't explain the feeling the moment I've entered that church.
Well of course, I offer my petitions, special requests and prayers there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leaning Clock Tower It is the most unusual astronomical clock that I've ever seen. It was built in the old town of Tbilisi, Georgia. It is one of the city's most unique building.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chronicles of Georgia You just need to climb the stairs then you will see a magnificent view at the top. You can also see here the episodes in the bible.
Tumblr media
Souvenir shopping I am so giddy in the photo. It was fun after all buying some pasalubongs for my loved ones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Handmade Souvenir Bag from Georgia I admire the skills of the Georgian people. They usually made handmade items like the bag that you can see in the photo. What I like the most is the detail of the bag---the flag of Georgia.
Tumblr media
Where to exchange the Georgian Currency?
The official currency of Georgia is Georgian Lari. Just bring United States Dollar (USD) then have it exchange into Georgian Lari in the Tbilisi International Airport. Or, you can go to any money changer there and have your USD exchange there into lari.
Tumblr media
That's it!
Add Georgia in you bucket list! Go ahead and be amazed in Georgia's beauty. Explore Georgia!
Love lots, A 💞

Georgia Travel Blog
(September 5-8,2021)
We cross the border into Georgia from Armenia. We travelled there in four hours. Although the government forbade it, we were unable to snap pictures of the beautiful mountain scenery along the route. An immigration office at the border will inspect all of our belongings and documentation. Fortunately, it has already declared that Filipinos having residence visas for the UAE can visit the nation using an E-visa. They requested the Negative PCR test, which we had completed in Armenia before our trip because we were travelling during COVID-19.
Additionally, they needed to reside in the UAE for at least six months before entering the nation. We took our holiday in the Philippines in December 2020 and returned to the United Arab Emirates on January 23, 2021. Even though it has been eight months, they took the time to thoroughly examine our admission and departure stamps from the UAE. (Just kidding, but they don't really trust us anyhow.) We arrived at the Grand Palace Hotel about 4 p.m. We simply take a little nap and unpack the clothes we will need for the next several days. The hotel was decent, but what made it great was that it was close to Europe Square, which has lots of eateries and tourist attractions.
Tumblr media
By 5 PM, it was becoming dark outside, so we made the decision to have supper and take a leisurely stroll around Europe Square.
Day 1: Europe Square
-Metal Tree Artwork
- Peace Bridge
-Hot Air Balloon - We each paid 50 gel, and although though it only takes a few minutes, you will get a 360-degree view of Tbilisi. All in all, it was well worth the less expensive price. At least you ought to give it a go.
Tumblr media
Day 2: Kazbegi
We got up early on our second day because the hotel provides a complimentary breakfast for us. We changed and got ready for our excursion after BF. It was really chilly, and as we didn't realise that our trip would be taking place in a high-range or mountainous location, we didn't pack any coats. Fortunately, we made a detour at the Zhinvali Reservoir, where shawls and other souvenirs were widely available. However, the expense was high. We were forced to get one since, eventually, the linen was still worthwhile. Before we forget, we also made the decision to purchase some mementos.
Note: Book Breakfast in the hotel (it will save you more) and bring jackets on winter !!
-Jinvali Lake
-Aragvi River
-Ananuri Fortress
-Gudauri View Point - From here, you may choose to attempt paragliding and horseback riding, among other things. We were going to attempt paragliding, but I don't have enough cash, and I left my wallet and credit card in the hotel. (We were upset not to be able to attempt the same as we are very into extreme fun.)
Note 2: Never leave your wallet or cards, you’ll never know when you needed it the most
- Russia Georgia Friendship Monument
We had a magnificent lunch at Gudauri, Dushet'Is Raioni; it was a buffet, so we were able to eat a lot, especially because we would be returning home late. Our co-travelers who were lucky enough to experience paragliding took up a significant portion of our tour time. So, when we arrived at Gergeti Trinity Church, we could only see fogs. So, even if we wanted to amuse ourselves, there isn't much to see up there but the church.
Tumblr media
It was very dark on the trip home, and some roads were small and rainy, so the driver drove carefully. We arrived at the hotel at 9 p.m. and opted not to have supper, preferring to sleep and recover.
Day 3: Kakheti and Badiauri - Morning
- Badiauri , We witnessed traditional bread production and sampled their native bread, Puri. It would have been lovely if we had coffee.
- Bodbe Monastery
Tumblr media
- Vineria- we had our lunch here , their food is really great . Superb .
- Vineria kakheti - We also did our wine tasting here, and they were gracious enough to let us sample a wide choice of wines. As a result, we decided to purchase six bottles of wine to bring with us to the UAE. You should also try Cha Cha. They stated it wasn't powerful, but it certainly is for me. haha
Tumblr media
Day 3: Sighnaghi
-Sighnaghi Village or the city of love -I enjoy going here because the environment is pleasant, and you may choose to stroll or ride an ATV. But we like to stroll to observe the beauty of the hamlet; they also offer ziplines.
-Georgia's Great Wall - if you start, you must finish all the way to the end. There's no turning back. We simply did it, and it was well worth it.
Tumblr media
We arrived at the hotel at 4 p.m., slept briefly, and then chose to eat supper at Pasanauri restaurant, as my friends had advised us to eat pork in Georgia. It did not disappoint us; it was quite excellent and tender. Unfortunately, we cannot have this in the UAE.
Day 4:  Mtskheta and Old Tblisi
-Jvari Monastery
-Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers
-Svetitskhoveli Monastery - It was pouring when we arrived, and the monastery was under renovation, but we still managed to shoot several images before leaving.
Tumblr media
-Old Tblisi - It was intended to be free on the first day of the trip, but because we came late, we did it on the last day, which was still free; unfortunately, we were unable to experience their famed sulphur bath because we had a flight that afternoon. But you gotta try!!
Tumblr media
We returned to the hotel at 2, checked out, and waited for the bus to bring us up. We decided to eat lunch at the airport as we waited for our flight back to the UAE.
Here are our costing:

Fantastic trip from Tbilisi to Kazbegi

Georgia is a beautiful country with an amalgamation of natural climates. The country has to offer you beautiful mountain ranges, caves, seas, and UNESCO-certified World Heritage sites.
Post COVID-19, the country has been the country now has liberal rules and regulations for International as well as Georgian travelers. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia and has been the favorite spot for tourists to reach out to places that are a must-visit in Georgia.
Day trips from Tbilisi are quite popular and one such day trip from Tbilisi is a day trip to Kazbegi. It is one the best selling and often chose trip from Tbilisi.
You can easily fly from Dubai to Tbilisi or even prefer a sea route from Dubai to Tbilisi. The shortest flight from Dubai to Tbilisi, Georgia is around 3.5 hours without any layovers.
You could opt to rest in Tbilisi and then go for a day trip for a fantastic trip from Tbilisi to Kazbegi. So when you plan your Georgia tour, do not miss out on this amazing one-day trip.
We are sure that you will find some of the best picturesque views of the mountains and nature this Georgian beauty has to offer. With Highlander Travel, you must rest assured of the facilities here, and enjoy your best Georgia escorted tours.
Let us give you a detailed description of my trip from Dubai to Tbilisi and then to Kazbegi
The one-day trip from Tbilisi to Kazbegi was worth it! You get to feel some of the best experiences with the most scenic view and with Highlander Travel's itinerary, you never miss out on any possible location!
Jinvali dam and water reservoir:
This beautiful tourist attraction place comes on your way to Kazbegi from Tbilisi. Based on River Aragvi in the Caucasus Mountains. The dam with a bit ancient touch and an artificial Jinvali lake attracts tourists and locals. The serene and peaceful environment makes it more desirable and worth purchasing. People also visit this blue-green watered lake for fishing and to spend their hot summer days.
Ananuri Fortress:
You cannot miss out on this art piece on your way to Kazbegi, this beautiful fortress is built on the Aragvi river. It is a castle complex built during the feudal era near the village of Ananuri.
The Ananuri Fortress still stands stall and strong on the river Aragvi. The fortress monumentalizes the location of the last defense of Aragvi against the Shanshe.
Also, there are two churches, the upper fortification of the fortress, Sheupovari is well preserved and is in a picture-perfect location, while, the lower fortification is mostly in ruins.
Gudauri Viewpoint (friendship monument):
If you are on your tour of Georgia with your friends, I am sure you do not wish to miss this place and get some memorable pictures clicked. This monument symbolizes friendship and what a great place to visit other than this to create memories with your friends.
Also, not to forget the spectacular view of the Georgian mountains. Thanks to the height this monument is built at (top of the mountain). Visiting Gudauri Viewpoint was breathtaking and the most memorable experience of my tour to Georgia.
Cross Pass:
It is the highest point in your journey from Tbilisi to Kazbegi, located at 2395m above sea level, which gives you the pleasure of climbing to the top of the Caucasus range.
Gergeti Trinity Church:
It is another popular tourist attraction place of the Kazbegi area, built on mount Gregeti in the XIV century. This church gives your a fantastic view of mountain Kazbegi. The cloudy weather adds to the majestic view of the mountain.
Dariali gorge and Gveleti Waterfall:
Dariali Gorge is a must-visit spot on your day trip from Tbilisi to Kazbegi. To reach the Gveleti waterfall you need a short hike of approx 2kms. So if you are planning your Georgia escorted trip through Highlander Travels post-May, do not forget to pack shoes for hiking!

Exploring Georgia in just Two Days!
A quick escape to the birthplace of wine, fantastic mountain scenery and cobblestoned old town.
Being an expat in Middle East, the benefit of having two days off at work is to travel to a nearest tourist destination like Georgia. A quick escape to the birthplace of wine, fantastic mountain scenery and cobblestoned old town.
As they said, unplanned trip is always the best and this trip is one of them. In just a week to prepare and plan for the itinerary, with the last minute of tour guide recommendation, it is a relief to our transportation as our plan to rent a car is a bit out of budget.
I highly recommend this local tour guide named Irakli which I contacted only by fb messenger. You check his page here for tour rates and other inquiry. I gave him my itinerary and he share his recommendation which I like without any second thought although there are places that I will not be able to visit because that two days tour in Gudauri, Kakheti region and Tbilisi is quite impossible. But to our surprise and with his effort it became possible. You just have to tell your tour guide if you want a relaxed tour or extreme. For us it’s extreme, we are able to do almost everything in the North of Georgia for a day.
THE TOUR:
Day 1 in the North:
Jinvali Dam - sightseeing, free entrance
Ananuri Castle - free entrance, castle view of Aragvi River
Pasanauri River – this is where we did the Water Rafting, 250$ for 3 persons and free for our tour guide
Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument - sightseeing, free of charge
Mineral Spring
Gudauri - for paragliding 250$/person
Day 2 Wine Tour:
Wine tour in Kakheti modern wine factory
Vineyards - we just stopped in one of the wineyards on the way.
Sighnaghi Fortress
Sighnaghi Great Wall
Bodbe Monastery
*All of the above tour is free entrance.
Day 2 extras (which is not in the itinerary but Irakli still wants us to go to the places we planned to visit):
The Bridge of Peace
Rike Park
Cable Car to Narikala Fortress
Leghvtakhevi Waterfall
Walk to Erekle St.
 FOOD
After a long day of tour, our guide take us to one of the best restaurants to try their traditional food. The Salobie restaurant located in old capital of Mtshketa is where we ate the delicious Khinkali and Khachapuri. Great food with low prices. And oh! We tried their locally made brandy, the Chacha. It I was so strong to the point that my friend got drunk in two shots 😊
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is cheap, we rented an apartment for $72 for 3 nights for 3 persons and the location is next to Rustaveli Metro where you can have a morning walk in Shota Rustaveli Avenue down to the Bridge of Peace. I suggest that you find a hotel or apartment that has a full room and a separate living room so you can prepare your morning stuff without disturbing your friends while they are still sleeping.
Overall expenses for 3 persons excluding the Air Ticket is 850$.
Is it worth the money and time? YES!
