Utterly magnificent "La Fenice," is a 1936 restored Chalet in Cervinia, Italy. The name means "The Phoenix," b/c it was purchased as "a rather nice ruin," and underwent a 5 yr. renovation. Now, the 7bd, 7ba home is the most expensive chalet priced at approx. $26,110,440. It has a direct 360 degree view of the Swiss Matterhorn to the north and the Italian Alps to the south.

The magnificent entrance is open to a balcony with cascading, glistening lights and a direct Alpine view.

Isn't this magnificent? There's also a view of the terrace.

It has rustic chalet style, but they added elegant touches, such as the long chandelier suspended from a mirrored coffered ceiling.

A sunny sitting room with a great view is off the living room.

The same chandelier and ceiling grace the large dining room. (No pics of the kitchen- remember the very wealthy only care about the dining room, b/c they don't do the cooking.)

Check the gorgeous stone wine cellar beautifully lighted and featuring elegant wrought iron and 2 wine fridges.

Plush upholstered seating in the home theater.

The home gym. I love how they did the lights in this home.

This must be the primary suite. Built-in velvet canopy over the bed matches the headboard.

The walk-in closet/dressing room has a luxurious banquette and a chandelier.

Relax in the indoor pool while looking at the snowy alps after skiing all day.

Check out the pool at night. It has a water fall, purple lighting, and what looks like a shoreline.

Or, if you prefer, there's a hot tub outside.

The current owners bought it 11 yrs. ago and spent 5 yrs. restoring it.

It's ski season again in Wyoming. Only found a couple sharks on the way down but, a lovely tour in the Snowy Range before Thanksgiving.
