Mwnt. Holga 120. Kodak Portra 160NC.

Mwnt (the welsh for Mount) gets its name from the 249 feet hill that stands on the Cardigan Bay coast. The site is managed, although not wholly owned by The National Trust.

As a kid I used to love visiting here, climbing the hill and going inside the beautiful Church Of The Holy Cross. Parts of which are believed to dat back as far as the 13th Century.

I was so happy to be back there after so many years I shot a whole roll of Kodak Portra and got into a conversation with somebody who also owned a Holga.

学生時代以来、数年ぶりに戻ってきた。

どのSNSも3日と持たない。

今回のこの衝動も長くないだろうなと思う。

写真を撮るのがすきでも、共有することに何故だか抵抗がある。

昔はネット上の（恐らく同年代と思われる）写真好きのコミュニティの中に自然と居ることができた。そしてその周辺には、有難いことに私の写真を好む人々がいた。

そうした環境の中で、より良い写真を撮らなければならないという義務感に駆られるようになった。

しかし当然ながら、良い写真とは必ずしも自分が撮りたい写真ではない。

流行りの加工を追うことやストーリー仕立ての投稿に疲れ、どうでも良くなってしまった私は全てを辞めた。

そこから数年、写真やカメラから離れた生活をした。

そして、たまに当時を振り返っては、結局私は誰かに何かを評価してもらいたくて写真を撮っていたのだと考えた。

それが最近になって、再びカメラを携帯するようになった。シンプルな作りのトイカメラは、ときめいた場面を気ままに写すのにはぴったりで何よりしっくりくる。こだわりようがないように見えて案外奥が深いところも楽しい。

平面的でチープな写りが良い。

鮮明さに欠けていて安心する。

複製された景色は、これくらい分かりやすいほうが良い。

それにしてもPC版がここまで快適だったとは。

after Lunar New Year celebration

Acidfest (18th August 2023,) Carnival Brewery. Lomography Fisheye 2 (with Lomography Ringflash.) Expired Kodak UltraMax 400.

Liverpool Psychedelic Society put on a fantastic night at Carnival Brewery on 18th August with a fantastic bill of paisley clad psychedelic acts. These included The Crystal Teardrop, Looking Glass Alice, Zetland and Essa Shields.

The Fisheye 2 and Ringflash seemed to be the perfect combination to capture images for a night like this and I thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with using the on camera flash in conjunction with the ringflash.
