I can’t believe he so totally inherited his mama Ravage’s cat eyes 😌 the half blindness was just because I could honestly (purely experimental I doubt this is the face I’d keep for him exactly); but if you were to squint you could say that his intense hearing/telepathy from the intense and constant inputs caused migraines (or from the stress of all the inputs) that caused it to go blind (yes migraines can do that), Or simply he had damaged his optic way long ago and having been on the streets And near insanity it simply was left untreated 😌

But I have heard that bats when they use their vision (at least for shorter distances) instead of echolocation they do actually tend to crash more frequently cuz the visual inputs mess up their audial information… figured it could be the same for Soundwave, where being half blind actually makes him feel more comfortable since he hears so intensely

Also I wasn’t sure how a cybertronian’s eye would get cloudy so. I did one way here the pupil would just fade severely/just about offline completely, and another referencing actual animal blind cat eyes

Translate + Transform - Final Notes

Presenting my idea to both Dot and Rich I received some really interesting feedback:

Add some backing to my idea - why am I doing this?

Maybe take the sound and relate that to the style more - piano etc

Use similar images so that the experiment is fair

As for my FMP I intend to take a different approach with my idea I will not be needing to apply this to my idea further however its still good to think about these things when working on a project.

Feedback

When presenting my outcome, the tutors mentioned that although the project is interesting, I need to look at how I could add additional layers to it. For example, instead of images from each month, could it be images that depict milestones from my time at university. Dot also pointed out that could I visually show the personal significant embroidered timeline by linking I to something like the growth rings in a tree stump (indicating personal growth).

Based on this feedback I will keep in mind that prototyping early on will allow time to add more layers to my outcome, making my concept stronger and message clearer. Furthermore, when developing the concept for my self directed project, I will need to consider how adding more layers to the concept can make the message more impactful and clear.

a set rationale for my presentation – can see I already have created one so i should add it to my presentation to make it clearer and make it easier for myself to explain.

from this feedback I'm definitely going to work on this a little more and try to create the idea of the object actually deforming to the emotion, but first visualise the emotions into a deformed shape.

doing this further will mean I will need to develop my skills for this software more, but I'm hopeful it will be quite easy to understand since what I've already was easy to pick up after having a go once.

I want to keep the colour but make them less prominent and maybe just keep one out of the five so you can differentiate the films.

if I had more time i would have like to change how I brought the colour in. instead of just one by one, from left to right on the palette. I would've liked to bring the colour in when that emotion was felt during the movie. I had a few technical problems with my laptop so I was unable to get more out of this project than I had hoped to have gotten out of it. I think I definitely want to work on this a little after my presentation with the feedback i get since I know I could do better than this.
