The bus rattled as it wended its way along the highway, taking in the steep hills and emerald plains. In the afternoon sky, clouds floated, heading to a destination unknown to them, but rolling over themselves to get there. Birds sung, trees swayed, and Piper lived.

Piper hadn’t lived in a long time. She hadn’t lived since before she sat down at that drab gray chair, with the blinding artificial light of an outdated computer in front of her. In all actuality, she had been dead longer than that.

In the cubicle where she had slaved away for some company that didn’t give a shit about her, there was a desk. And in that desk, there was a drawer. In that drawer was an envelope and in that envelope was a letter. That letter had been in that drawer since Piper had started her job, but it had been with her for ages before that.

She thought back to a happier, if melancholy time: one where she sat by Grandpa Tom’s bed listening to his stories, staring out at the Oklahoma grass beset by crickets. And on one of those nights, he gave her a letter in an envelope, which would soon spend all its time in a drawer in a desk in a cubicle. “Take this,” he had said, and she eagerly ripped the seal open. He ruffled her hair and wagged his finger.

“Don’t open it yet, dear, you must have patience,” he laughed. It got quiet for a moment before he sighed. “There will come a day where you will feel crushed by the burden of modern life, and your bright spirit will fade before a growing emptiness. When that happens, my girl, you can open it.” His smile came back. She returned it. “Now, let Grandpa rest.”

He died that night. So had Piper.

And surely enough, that day had come. She was sick and tired of that godforsaken desk, and the awkward water cooler talk, and the all around 1984-ness of the workplace environment. So while everyone else was holed up in their cubicles, she took the envelope with a broken seal, and read it.

“Dear Piper,

If you’re reading this, you must be in dire need of a change.

The same thing happened to me, long ago. I lost sight of what mattered most in life… real connections with other people and nature. So I dropped everything and moved to the place I truly belong.

Banks have so many foreclosed properties that they have agreed to slowly release them the market over the next several years as releasing them all at once would be devastating to the real estate market and to the economy. We won't see a positive impact on the market until this process is complete. Given that it is unlikely to make much of a difference whether you sell your house now or a year from now, the question of when to sell a house is, simply, when it is right for you. However, the next question that comes into play is that of which season is best for selling your home.

What is the best season for selling a home? The answer may surprise you but, all things considered, there simply isn't one season that is better than another to sell your house.
