[Edit: The video is already unavailable 💔 Props to the people who helped make this wonderful project!]
Omg you guys have to check out this link to the Trese: At the Intersection of Balete and 13th Street Audiobook!
It’s an amazing and well-crafted audiobook made by a group of amazingly talented fans and it’s currently available in youtube. Watch it while you can because it’ll only be available for 24 hours!
Here’s an excerpt of it’s video description in Youtube:
The Great Balete Podcast presents Trese: At the Intersection of Balete and 13th Street, a fanmade audio adaptation of the first entry to Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo's critically acclaimed horror/ mystery komiks. Narrated by Katerina Rara and starring Jireh Silva as Alexandra Trese, the fully realized adaptation comes with a community driven cast, an original musical score, and a haunting tone that harkens back to the series' roots in radio drama more than two decades ago.
When the White Lady of Balete Drive is murdered, Captain Guerrero calls the help of Alexandra Trese to get answers. Aided by the Kambal, the BabaylanMandirigma of Manila dives into the inner circles of the city's Underworld, following a trail of clues to uncover a dark secret.

Hello. As someone who sees a lot of interaction with anime fandom, I was wondering if you could help me understand something. I've found a subset of tumblr/twitter artists who racebend Japanese characters into black characters (and others probably but I haven't seen as much of those) and I really can't understand why this seems to be accepted and isn't racist? Especially in a story like JJK for instance which is very focused on Japanese people and their culture. Saw several twitter posts disparaging Gojo's design for example because they prefer how some artists made him black in their art. And while yes he doesn't look typically Japanese, he's still a Japanese character whose story is rooted in Japanese culture. I'm Filipino and would be really annoyed if artists racebended characters from Trese (a Filipino "anime" on Netflix focused on Filipino folklore). If I'm the one being racist by thinking it's wrong to do this, please tell me.
In my experience race bending characters (in this case anime characters specifically) is mainly about adding representation for underrepresented people into a medium. Isn't meant as any form of disrespect, just a creative way to add inclusion for more marginalized people. It's just a way for fans to be able to see more of themselves in a medium they enjoy.
Which is, of course, different from white-washing which is all about the erasing of culture and ethnicity to force someone/something to conform to a white-centric ideal/standard.
For your example of artists making Gojo black in their art, it's just a way for those artists to explore possibilities and to show representation in their fanwork for dark-skinned people which can also include dark-skinned Asian people.
But I'm also white so I open the floor and the reply section of this post to people better versed in explaining the finer points of this situation.

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.I wished I really liked ReyLo. :( Or the existence of Gabriel x Marinette.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?….ok my playlist is weird, it just played Whims of Fate. And though I associate it with AkeAkiMako, I also associate that song with Jesper and Wylan from Six of Crows. Or Adrien Agreste.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).1. more fanworks from the Smaller and smaller Circles, as well from the Trese fandom. 2. More Dadzawa and his kids (i mean, Class 1A, not only Shinsou) fics in the BNHA fandom3. A revival of fanworks from YYH, Slam Dunk and other 90s anime fandom
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.1. Haruno Sakura - the character that I’m most empathic with2. Katsuki Bakugo - he’s an asshole, but I love how there is no sad backstory or any excuse for his shitty attitude. he’s been given grief and comeuppance for his arrogance, but he tries his best to become a better person. I love that. 3. Mogget/Yrael - AAAAH A SNARKY TALKING CAT WHO IS ALSO A GOD WHO CAN OBLITERATE EVERYTHIGN?
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? my headcanons : kacchan is partially deaf, sasuke and sakura probably had love letters and were published in the future from Konoha History, and mitsui probably had gold fillings for his dentures but doesn’t wear them in public.
