Colors of legends (IV) The Kanduri from Bahraich Turn of 19th to XXth century ritual textile of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh (North East India) called Kanduri are intended to contain the offerings of incense and food for the tomb of the '' Ghazi '' Saiyyad Salar Masud killed during the battle against the Indian King Suhaldev in 1034. These cotton fabrics, decorated with cotton stitches sewn "cotton applied in layer", are inevitably stained by the residues of offerings. Not recognized because too little known, the beautiful naive narratives that characterize these major works of Art of the ancestral textile of Uttar Pradesh may sometimes to be confused with the equally beautiful textile applied flags ot the Asafo / Fante of the former Gold-Coast.... My favourite "cold-case" of my collection, and not yet elucidated... Here is one of the longest enigma of my Congo Art collection. More than 10 years that I try to pierced his enigma and his secret... Presumed of Kongo's Yombe / Vili origin, terracotta early XIXth for the low part (TL test Res-Artes). No Themolulinescence result for the personnage at the top who is  supposed to be a later restoration without attempting to conceal the restoration marks. Strong traces of natural erosion, white and red pigments. I suppose that it can be a burial Kongo terracotta artefact but without reference known to date. What do you think about? Culture Maori, Nouvelle-Zélande. Tauihu war canoe of Poverty Bay, figure de proue de canoe de guerre Maori. Grand tirage XIXe, 1875-1880, sur papier albuminé monté avec cachet de la Collection du Dr Albert Peschard de Caen (1836-1902). Cliché de la Collection Peschard, aujourd'hui introuvable et dont une partie des artefacts furent légués à la Faculté de Science de Caen. La Collection Peschard, considérée au XIXe comme une des plus remarquable de France, conservée à la Faculté des Sciences de Caen, avec et entre-autre la Collection Dumont d'Urville fut egalement en grande partie perdue lors des bombardements du débarquement du 6 juin à la fin août 1944.
