This is a small water bag for Miao children collected by my parents. It is over 100 years old and has been in our family for over 40 years. Made mostly of patchwork, it comes with hand-woven trim straps and a pretty color palette. Here is a pair of re-worked vintage Japanese monpe (farmer pants) that I did for my pal Michiyo @lilwoodsvintage I sewed the sides up and added a large pocket on either side made from vintage kimono. Added a drawstring waist made from vintage indigo Chinese futon fabric, added some other vintage Japanese fabric scraps for a patchwork design and did a little (amateur) sashiko stitchwork. Here is a little bolero jacket I made last year and never posted. Made from vintage Chinese, Thai and Japanese fabric. The chest and back are some Thai indigo fabric I got in Chaing Mai 10 years ago. The collar and sleeves were dead stock uncut Japanese maekake apron fabric. I left the fringe from the aprons on the cuffs as I thought it looked rad. The interior is vintage 50’s/60’s cloth from Hong Kong apparently it wS popularly used for women’s dresses.
