Yugi never expected to go back to Egypt, but he made someone a promise that they would go someday. That day is here and he has no idea how to navigate the grief that comes with returning. When they travel to the tomb of Pharaoh Atem, they make a discovery that puts the one person Yugi cares about most in the world in danger. Who will help them? Or will they find the strength in their identities that was always there?

Admin's notes: Postcanon rivalshipping where Yugi makes a life with Seto. m!preg but it's in the past, and Yugi's kid is old enough to be their own charming individual and raised by two devoted parents. Despite his best efforts, Yugi's feelings for Atem never stop, and it eventually spells the end for the relationship with Seto. When I explain it like that it maybe sounds drama filled but it's actually navigated in an incredible mature way, with the characters being adults who care about each other and treat each other genuinely. The lead-up to and eventual reunion between Yugi and Atem is beyond heart-warming and well earned.
