Lying in his bed, for once in a very long time Adam had gotten such a nice sleep. The man was curled in his bedsheets, unknowing of what he had done just yet, how dangerous of a thing he had done and the gift he was given by the Creator himself. Though, with the sun flooding into the room, past the curtains and hitting his eyes, he began to stir and wake.

His eyes open slowly, gold hues hitting his room interior in almost surprise as memories were starting to set in. He could only hope that what he did stopped all this, but seeing as he was back… No, of course it didn’t. Father must have brought him back, that was the only conclusion as to why he was back in Heaven.

Adam couldn’t think too hard, all he knew was that he was incredibly tired and sore. He flops back into bed and sighs, looking at his ceiling.

“I guess five more minutes couldn’t hurt…”

Atom had been gone for a couple of days, he knew he could be a lot and Sue needed a break from him anyways. His high energy and overall smugness sometimes got old, he knew that. It’s a reason why he kept his distance at times. However, when he did come back, he only planned to be back for an hour or two, see how she was feeling. It’s strange how he got to the point where he felt comfortable just appearing in her place. Should he feel bad about that…? Ah, a thought for another time.

There was something strange though, when he saw her again, her energy was way off. It was something he hadn’t seen from her before and immediately concern began to brew in his chest as he took careful steps in and asked softly.

“Sue… you ok?”

The First Man had seen so many things in life, with the orb the Seraphim used to watch humanity, Adam was always allowed access being the First Human. He would watch so many things. Civilizations rise and fall, bloodshed and war... Being in Heaven, that all felt like fiction, a kind of movie... But what he was shown... It had taken so much out of him.

Father did really intend on releasing the monsters of purgatory in Heaven. The fact had scrambled the brain of the First Man so much it had rendered the man unconscious, that and staring into the future so forcibly like that tends to take much from the person.

Before him, in his living room of all places, stood that pedestal and timer that began its countdown. The scene would be horrifying to any who would see, and that's exactly what Lucifer and Lilith would happen upon when entering his apartment.

A mother’s love was a powerful thing. A solemn prayer said from a recently deceased spirit, a plea for protection of a loved one. A divine gift was bestowed in exchange for a last breath and Adam, the First Human, would respond and play the role needed of protecting someone so young and innocent.

Since passing of the mother, Adam was perched on the shoulder of the toddler. Desdemona. Otherwise called Dez. He wouldn’t be seen by her, only once the time was right and sensing that she was about to make a daring escape from her home, attracted to playing games with the local kids, Adam would be amongst one of those children.

Brown hair, Golden Amber eyes a smile of innocence and a killer kick. He would be amongst all the children who played together, even allowing Dez to join in too. After some time, he would hear it. A stumble, a scraped knee and he was gone, coming back quickly with a bandaid and a sweet smile.

“Are you ok?” The innocent child would ask, holding out the bandage for the other with that large smile, only to tell his friends angrily to shut up when they were both picked on, Dez for falling and Adam for assumedly ‘falling in love’. Innocent banter expected from children in their growing age.

His eyes were on hers again, silence, this would be the first time of many that the unassuming girl would meet her guardian Angel and Adam prayed that he would leave a positive, lasting impression.

“You know, you’re pretty good at soccer. For a girl.”
