tried to fix a raspi where the ethernet wasnt working, and in the process i fucked it up completely.
#tütensuppe#i saw the dhcp service was missing#so when i tried to install it i kept getting errors from squeekboard (screen keyboard module)#trying to fix that repeatedly threw errors related to labwc (wayland)#then labwc fucked up the lightdm (which runs the desktop ui. so at that point it booted into command line only)#trying to get lightdm back resulted in it putting up a login interface which just throws me 'failed to start session'.....#i think the install was borked from the beginning but i dont want to throw it all out immediately#edit i THINK i fixed some of it. labwc forked around in the settings a bit#i tried to kick it back out originally but it threw the same squeekboard related error#edit 2 I GOT RID OF SQUEEKBOARD... it was complaining about a specific file missing#so i brutally created it by hand. no more complaints. labwc went flying as well#but havent tested yet if the desktop works again#also dhcpcd is now installed but keeps terminating right after starting up
