Pattern Help

Hey Guys! I know there are tutorials out there, (I've read most of them I think) but does anyone know an alternate way to make patterns that doesn't shrink the image down to 256x256? I love the castability of TS3, it's my favorite feature of the game, but the low resolution of the patterns KILLS ME! I have several stone/wood patterns that I would like to make, but I need to retain the color of them and would like to have them look... better. Any suggestions?

The only other thing I could think of would be to make walls/floors instead of patterns for the interior/exterior look I need, and then just use the patterns for furniture pieces and such. But that's doing everything three times over for the same material... *ponders life decisions*

SO recently I learned how to make patterns which is exciting for me. The orange ones are inspired by @panosita Who loooves orange and is always encouraging me as I try to learn new things for this game!

Some simple CAST patterns for ya guys!

Hey everyone! <3 I have some patterns I made that I use a lot in my game. You’ll notice some of them are the same as some of the walls I’ve made for TS2. Heh. Anyway, check below the cut for pictures and downloads. They’re very different so I’ve put them all separate so you can only grab the ones you want. Unfortunately none of them are recolorable. That’s beyond my current skill level. :(

Told y’all it was gonna be a long night! Here’s a whole bunch of patterns that I created tonight. I put them all into these cauldrons and baskets [Thank you murfeel!] that I use in almost every lot I play. They won’t look good on walls and such, but I love the way they came out for these! 

@murfeelee - [credit for the spice baskets - these have their own textures that I use often, too] Thank you!

Edit: So apparently something went wrong when I was uploading these and some of the links got merged together. All of these are correct links now, but I have all of the ones listed below [except for the metal ones] listed on my page in zip files, and they have photos to go with them. PATTERNS... Finally! I used ATS3′s cauldron from HERE, and Sim-Man’s bucket of glitter (retextured with a metal material to look like a cauldron) HERE .

I set up some examples on how I’ve been using them to give y’all an idea. All the packages are in these zip files below and include photos.

Hey y’all! So I finally started working on my patterns [starting new!] and decided that I needed some food textures for my favorite cauldron from ATS3! I’ve wanted to do this for forever but didn’t want a bunch of sims3packs cluttering up my launcher from CAP patterns. So, I figured out how to do it in package format! Here’s my first one [it’s going to be a long night because I already have a folder full of ideas lol] and I went ahead and did a jam texture. To my surprise, it also works very well for liquids. I’ve got melted gold and silver, and a variety of jams out of this one pattern. [Hello jam shop and blacksmith]

Some more photos of how I used the patterns. The last post wouldn’t let me upload them all. These are the big cauldrons, the smaller ones seem to fit the texture a little better and has a bit of a rounded surface instead of flat, so it gives it a 3D effect that I like. Murfs baskets again, and I used OMSP on the ATS3 cauldron and put it inside the big one since its not recolorable.
