Across all cultures, tuluans are a family oriented species with a sense of lingering horror and confusion directed at cultures that send their kits off young. Tuluan cubs are expected to stay and live with their parents and siblings until they marry or a new generation comes into the household. Most kits will refuse to move far from their families and in more rural areas, this has resulted in “generational villages” where entire neighborhoods are the relatives of a tuluan and as such, require them to venture out into the city to find love or non-familial connected jobs.

The tuluans believe - in general - in the Sound of Life. Though this can vary from culture to culture, the general concept is that to speak, shout or roar is to prove that you are alive and that silence is a sign of death.

Tuluans have a love/hate relationship with the Asari due to this belief and the overwhelming majority believe that the centrist behaviors of the asari is the equivalent to a walking death - as if they refuse to speak truly. They also dislike what they see as the Asari’s transparent attempt at smothering the voices of other species.
