i just had the most wonderful evening of my life. family dinners can actually be fun sometimes.
#I GOT TO HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT TMA!!!!!!! WITH OTHER TMA FANS!!!! IN PERSON!!!!!#let me set the scene.#some of my family is coming over for dinner. we're not particularly close. i brace myself for the most awkward two hours of my life.#ten minutes in one of my cousins looks at me and says 'you like the magnus archives right?'#i do in fact like the magnus archives. some might say that i like it quite a lot.#we have a conversation about the magnus archives. it's fun. it's great.#at some point their roommate + my aunt join in. it's fun. i like talking about the magnus archives. my other cousin also joins in briefly.#i had never met another magnus archives fan offline. i have now met three.#we eat dinner. i recommend malevolent to my aunt. i eat a lot of really good bread.#i unbutton my cardigan at some point.#as they get ready to leave my cousin turns to me and asks 'is that a mechanisms shirt'#nobody has ever recognized my mechanisms shirt before.#turns out my cousin + their roommate are also mechs fans.#they leave. i am left with the knowledge that the next family gathering is going to be a lot less awkward.
