The Rise of a Blackbird AU

So, I've been rather shy about it, but, lately, I've been reworking my main Hazbin AU so I could post it again. The main issue was an ex friend of mine wrote some of the lines for Adam, along with their OC being a part of the AU. I've been going back through it and editing those parts out to make it entirely my own. Plus adding/outright changing parts so it'll better fit my original vision.

I used to talk about this AU all the time here, and expect me to go feral about it again.

The Fall

First part of the new AU is up, woot!

Adam wakes up in Hell and tries to become adjusted to his new situation.

Since we were talking about how the friends we spend the most time with can often change the ways we speak, how do you see this in Adam and Vox?

I think the most noticeable shift is, often when their together, Adam is less blunt than he'd usually be while Vox is more blunt than he'd usually be.

My favorite example of this is in Camping Buddies:

“We don’t have to if it bothers you! It was just an idea. I know you need your space sometimes for…self care reasons.” Adam’s eyes became shifty and Vox gawked at him. 

I think, in most circumstances, though Adam might not say it outright (though I can totally see him saying it outright), he probably would use a pretty telling euphemism that would get straight to the point. However, he understands it is Vox's preferred method of communication to refer to these things more indirectly, and also that Vox will understand what he means by "self care reasons" in this instance. Vox only pushes Adam to tease him, and even then Adam understands Vox wants a specific indirect wording, not for Adam to be outright blunt.

In the same chapter of Camping Buddies (ch 1) we see the same thing, though on opposite ends of the spectrum when Vox says:

 “Look what you’ve done. Now they’re going to think you tried to fuck me.”

Vox is blunt rather than using more polite or flowery wording. He doesn't say, "Adam, now look what you've done. They're going to think you tried to share the night with me," or something, he just outright uses the word fuck. Vox understands Adam wouldn't mind and that Adam prefers people be blunt over keeping things subtle. If Vox were too subtle, Adam would just be like "they thought I was going to what now?" lol.

So yeah, interesting stuff!

I bet Vox would be there to help you/Lee whenever your sex repulsion makes it difficult to do something. He's ready to jump in whenever you ask him to!
