7 am palang,nagising na ako. Sino ba kasing hinayupak ang kumuha ng electric fan ko?!

Ayun, pawis na pawis ako. Happy Sunday.

Ichecheck ko sana ang phone ko, kasi wala ito sa bedside table. Tatayo sana ako para hanapin ito nang biglang may pumintig sa batok ko.

Aray! Sobrang sakit ng ulo ko!

Napunta pala ang phone ko sa ilalim ng kama ko. Pa'no-

TOK TOK TOK!

Napalingon ako nang biglang may kumatok sa pinto. Bumukas ito at pumasok si Kuya Jake.

"Hoy, 'nyare sa'yo? Ba't ka sumisigaw?" Minsan nakakalimutan kong manipis nga lang pala ang mga dingding namin.

"Hindi, wala. Bigla lang sumakit ulo ko." Sabi ko habang hinihimas batok ko.

"Ahh kala ko-" 'Yan nanaman siya. "Mag-ingat ka ha. Baba ka na, may pandesal na sa baba."

"Si-sige..." Mahina kong sambit. Nanghihina na rin ako sa sakit ng ulo ko.

Kinuha ko ang phone ko, pero ayaw nito bumukas. Hayst. Kailangan ko rin pala bumaba, nando'n yung charger.

Pagbaba ko ay agad bumungad sa'kin ang...SUNGHOON?! SI SUNGHOON BA TALAGA 'YAN? BAKA NAMAN NAMAMALIKMATA LANG AKO?

"Uy, Good morning, Y/n" Sabi niya habang nakangiti. NAKAKATUNAW!

"I'm sure by now you've already heard of the recent tragedy?"

Oh...that...It happened again...? Another student ended her life. I was reminded of the events that transpired 3 years ago. The foul remembrance of that day made me shiver. I can still hear his voice caling me....

Nagulat ako nang may kumalabog sa mesa, at ako rin ang may gawa. Nahampas ko ang lamesa sa sobrang takot ko na marinig ulit ang boses niya. Si kuya Jake lang pala ang tumatawag sa'kin. Sunghoon's puzzled expression made me feel a little embarassed. Para akong bata na biglang nag-maktol. Tinulak niya ng daliri ang hot chocolate na nasa harap ko. "Inom ka muna. Hinga, hinga." That really wasn't necessary. Sa preseniya mo palang, kumakalma na'ko. "I think...lets no talk about it anymore." Sinabi ni Sunghoon. Tumango si Kuya Jake.

Of course it happened again. I did not forget, though I desire to. Sinubukan kong hindi alalahanin lahat ng nangyari noon, at ngayon. Para akong lalagnatin sa takot. "Mag s-stay lang ako saglit. Do you wanna watch?" Tumango ako at minostrahan niya ako na tumabi sa kanya. HUEY??? GUSTO NIYA AKONG KATABI? WAG PLEASE, BAKA 'DI KO KAYANIN!

Tumabi ako sa kanya at nagsalang sila ng pelikula. Medyo inantok ako sa pelikula kaya nag-scroll nalang ako sa phone ko.

Ka-chat ko si Chaewon at Giselle sa group chat namin, naghuhukay sila at nagsesend ng mga maaasim na litrato at TikToks namin noon. Sinend ni Giselle yung TikTok ko nung sumabak ako sa Dalagang Pilipina Challenge.

Buti nalang nasave ko yung rume-renegade siya. Binuksan ko ang photo gallery ko para hukayin ang mga kaje-jemonan nila nang makakita ako ng misteryosong picture. 'Nu 'to? Ba't 'to nandito? Binuksan ko ang picture. Eh ako 'to eh! Nung Friday! Saan 'to galing?!

Ha? Kagabi? Pero saan 'to galing? Ang lakas na ng dagungdong ng dibdib ko. Mahihimatay na ako sa sobrang kaba. Una, weird na phone number, ngayon naman, picture ko na bangag. Jusko! Teka....YUNG NUMBER! Tinignan ko yung contacts ko, tapos yung 'Recent'....

Nakakaputangina na talaga. Para akong mababaliw na mahihimatay na ewan. Tinapos namin yung pelikula bago umalis si Sunghoon. Nakahinga na rin ako nang maayos, mahigit apat na oras kong tiniis na naka stomach-in. Pagka-alis niya umakyat agad ako sa kwarto kaso pinigilan ako ni kuya Jake. "Hoy, sa'n ka pupunta? 'Di ka itetext niyan kung nakauwi ka na ba, nasa bahay ka lang hoy." '

To nanaman si kuya sa pagiging assuming eh. 

"Hindi 'no! Pagod lang talaga ako, na-drain social battery ko". Inirapan lang ako ni kuya.

Pag-akyat ko, para akong nahilo. I traced all the way to October 7, and I tried my best to recall the events that happened during that day.

No'ng gabing 'yon, uminom ako, tapos sinundo ako nila kuya. Tapos may seminar, tapos....

Parang may naalala ako na may tinawagan ako. The memory was cloudy yet vivid, hindi ko masabi kung panaginip lang ba 'yon o ano.

Binuksan ko ang phone ko para tignan ang recent calls.

Ang pinaka-recent ko na tawag, number lang. 11:59 pm.

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang sumanib sa'kin, pero hindi ako nagdalawang-isip na pindutin ang call button.

"Hello..?"

AYUN!

"Um, hi po, kuya"

"Hi um, I think you got the wrong number?"

"Hala hindi po! 'Wag niyo po muna ib-"

"You probably got the wrong number, I'm hanging up, ok?"

"Kuya 'wag! "Wag niyo muna po akong iwan!"

"Ha?" Bahagyang natawa si kuya. "Para saan po ba 'to?"

" Hi po ahm, ayon nga po, nung Friday po, October seven, I went drinking out. I saw your number in my phone, and kanina, I saw your number sent me a picture of myself. So, I'm here to ask you, sino po kayo?"

"Yeah, I'm-"

Halos mapa-itcha na ako ng phone ko sa gulat. May biglaang static na ringing mula sa kabilang linya. 

"Hello? Okay ka lang?" 

"O-Oo...Biglang nag-static, sorry. Ano ulit 'yun?"

"Sabi ko ako si Ch-" KRIIIIIIIIII Halos mapasigaw ako sa lakas.

"Kuya hindi ko po talaga maintindihan, nags-static talaga." 

"Huh, that's weird. Can I get your name perhaps? Or, what was this about again?"

Huminga ako nang malalim.

"Sir, I found your number on my phone, and you found my picture on yours. You sent it kagabi, diba?"

"Kagabi? I don't remember making any calls last night."

"Ako rin, pero check mo phone mo, and yung gallery mo din."

Nanahimik yung linya saglit, naririning ko lang na palakas nang palakas na yung hinga ni kuya.

"What the fuck?! Who the fuck are you?"

"Ikaw nga dapat tinatanong ko 'ya eh, may picture pa ako diyan" Aminin mo na 'ya, crush mo lang talaga ako KEMEEEEE.

"I don't even know you! I this some kind of joke?" Napangiwi ako. Gingigil mo 'ko kuya eh! Pati naman ako gusto rin maging joke lang 'to.

"Teka...did we perhaps have a one nigh-"

"HINDI, HINDI, NO." Pagputol ko sa kanya. Loko 'to ah!

"Sorry I mean, the picture was in a bar so I assumed..."

"Teka, alam mo 'yung lugar?" Buti ka pa 'ya.

"Parang familliar yung lugar, I think it's a bar I went to...but I don't quite remember where."

Wait! Saan nga ba 'yon?  Nag-backread ako sa mga chat namin sa gc, kung saan daw ako pinick-up nila kuya.

Ayun! PASAY!

"Sa Pasay daw kuya. Sinundo ako ng kuya ko do'n nung nalasing ako."

"You sure? Okay then."

"Pupuntahan ko yung lugar. Ikaw?"

"I'll try, what was your name again?"

"Hindi ko talaga marinig, miss."

Napatingin ako sa nakabukas na bintana. The sky looked exceptionally blue and beautiful today, it reminds me of him, blue is his color after all. Teka...SKY!

"You can call me 'Sky'."

"Alright then."

"Eh, ikaw?"

"What?"

"Anong puwede kong itawag sa'yo?" For some reason I couldn't hear his name, and 'di niya rin marinig akin. 

"Call me Leo." Naks, nag-search pa ata si kuya. 

"Naks naman, sa'n mo nanaman napag-kukuha 'yan ya."

"Ah, Virgo sana since yun ang zodiac sign ko, but I figured Leo would be more fitting."

"Sosyal mo naman 'ya," Bahagya akong napatawa. 

"So, see you there?"

"See you later, Sky."

Binaba niya na ang tawag. Agad akong pumunta sa google para mag-search ng mga bar. Nagbihis na rin ako at bumaba para mag-paalam kay kuya.

"Pasay nanaman? May kinikita ka ba do'n? Puwede naman, 'wag ka ang uuwing buntis."

'To nanaman si oa eh.

"May titignan lang ako, may naiwan kasi ako dun sa bar na pinuntahan ko."

"BAR? HALIKA NGA DITONG BATA KA." Naguat ako nang sugurin ako ni Kuya Jake nang may hawak na sandok. 

"Sige na kuya ba-bye love you!" Sinarado ko ang pinto. KUYA GUARD! MAY NAG-AAMOK NA ASO!

Nagising ako na naka hilata sa kama ko. Nakapilipit ang isang binti sa unan at may naninigas pa na laway sa giid ng labi. Teka, kung ganoon...sino ang nagdala sa akin dito..? SI FELIX BA?? SHUTA! Kinilig ako ng ma-imagine ko itsura namin kagabi...

Joke lang, loyal ako kay hooniebear ko. EME!

Mabilis akong tumayo at tumakbo pababa. Nadatnan ko si Kuya Jake na nagluluto na ng tanghalian. Nandoon din si Chaewon at Giselle.

"HUY MHIEEE!" SIgaw ni Chae bago tumakbo para yakapin ako.

Niyakap ko si Chae at Gisele habang tinatapik ang ulo nila ng biglang may kumaltok sa batok ko.

"Tignan mo yung oras oh, Alas-Dyis na. May seminar ka pa mamaya. Tsk tsk"

"Sorry na, 'to naman eh. Basang-basa na nga ako kagabi oh, maawa ka naman..."

"ANO?! ANONG BASA?" Natatarantang tanong ni kuya. Grabe talaga mag-isip to si kuya, ang lala.

"Tanga, ang lakas ng ulan kahapon, dumi talaga ng isip neto eh" tinarayan ko siya.

Nagtatakang mga mukha ang lumingon sa akin. TInitigan nila ako bago sila tumingin sa isa't isa.

"Ulan? Parang wala naman akong natatandaang may ulan kahapon. Epekto lang ng kalasingan mo yannn HAHAHAHHAHA" Sambit ni Ni-Ki.

"Ulol HAHAHAHA Baka sa area lang Pasay may ulan" dagdag ni Giselle.

Nagchikahan lang kami habang nag-aalmusal, parang namiss ata nila ako, ems

Pagkatapos kumain, naghanda na ako para sa seminar namin mamaya. Sino ba kasi nagpa-uso ng seminar kahit Sabado? Ta's required pa. Hmph. Okay lang yan Y/n, para 'to sa future mo, future niyo ni Sungho-AY EME.

On the bright side, another excuse 'to para makita ang aking beloved Hooniebear. Kababata namin siya. Kaso lumipat sila ng bahay causing him to switch schools. Ngayong college year, he transferred to the same university I go to. Para bang, tinadhana talaga kami eh 'noh? KEME!

Now, he lives just a block away from our house, pero hindi na kami gaanong close dahil sa tagal naming hindi nakita. Pero close pa rin siya kay Kuya Jake. Since then, I liked him, and I still do now. Para siyang naging default crush ko. Every time I experience a heartbreak or minor inconvenience in a relationship, my heart runs back to him. Para bang, pakiramdam ko siya ang sasagip sa'kin. At yun, 'nak, ang love story ng mommy at daddy niyo. AY, CHAROT!

Kasabay ko si Lee Know lumabas as usual since parehas kami ng course at kailangan namin ummattend sa seminar na 'to. Pero dahil diyan, palagi kaming napag-kakamalang may something. Matagal na naming kaibigan si Lee Know kaya super close talaga kaming dalawa. Siy yung tipong kaibigan na pag na-leak ang gc, puwede siyang makulong. Pero minsan may limitations din ang pagiging close namin, lalo na in public. Mabilis kumalat ang chismis at fake news sa uni, baka makarating pa kay Hoon, baka mawalan siya ng gana. AY! DELULU LANG?

Mahaba-haba rin ang biyahe papunta sa uni, kaya sinalpak ko muna ang earphone ko sa tenga ko.

Pagdating ko sa uni, unang bumungad ang tarpaulin na may mukha ni Sunghoon. SIya kasi yung model ng "APPLY NOW" poster namin. Gets ko kung bakit siya ang kinuha, kahit sino naman, mapapahanga pag nasilayan nila ang kaguwapuhan niya. I'm happy for him, kaso hindi ko na siya ma-gagatekeep. Aw.

Nakakaantok yung seminar. Bahagya akong tumitingin kay Hoon, pasulyap-sulyap lang, gano'n.

Habang tinatago ko ang mukha ko sa likod ng binder, tinignan ko ang gc namin na sumasabog sa chat. Gagi, nakita ni Lee Know. Chismoso panaman 'yan.

Pag-ring ng bell ay agad akong tumayo perO hindi ako agad umalis para hindi masyadong awkward.

Teka...lumalapit ba siya..? LORD! PUWEDE BA 'TO?! Napagtanto ko na mas awkward pala kapag naiwan kaming dalawa, kaya binilisan ko ang pag-lakad. Kaso nagsisiksikan ang mga estudyante sa may pinto, kahit anong bilis ko, hindi rin ako makakaraan. Palapit na siya! Lord, kayo na ang bahala sa'kin.

"Miss Sim?" dahan-dahan akong lumingon. Shet, lalong umawkward.

"Sim Y/n, right? Do you have something you want to tell me?"

Natulala ako ng marinig ko ang boses niya. The way my name rolled off his lips made me dizzy.

"A-ah wala nammmmman" Y/N UMAYOS KA! KEEP YOUR CALM!

"Oh," Tumango siya. "Kapatid ka ni Jake, right? Who would've thought na magiging ganito pala kaganda ang kapatid ni Jake. Buti hindi ka nagmana sa kuya mo haha" ANG CUTE NG NGITI NIYA SHET.

...Teka..ako? maganda? MAGANDA DAW AKO! WALA KAYO SA'KIN! YES G NANALO RIN!

"Ako nga pala si Sunghoon. Nice to meet you." Sabi niya habang inooffer ang kamay niya habang nakangiti.

GRABE, PATI ATA ATAY KO KINIKILIG!

"Sim Y/n, nice to meet you rin."

Kinamayan ko siya habang pinapakiramdaman ang kinis ng kanyang palad. NAHAWAKAN KO NA KAMAY NIYA! PUWEDE NA AKONG MAMUHAY NG MAPAYAPA!

"Hey um, if you want, we can go for coffee, maybe? Or take a snack?" IS HE ASKING ME OUT?????

"SUre, I'd love to!" Landi mo ses! piyok ka naman nang piyok.

Tumambay lang kami sa malapit na coffee shop habang nagkukuwentuhan.

"What did your kuya say about me?"

"Mabait, malinis, ta's pogi." AY, TUMATAPANG SI IDOL!

Napatawa siya. Nakakatunaw talaga yung ngiti niya

"But do you think I am?" Bigla niyang sinabi. Nabulunan ako sa iced coffee ko. "Hm?"

"Sa tingin mo pogi talaga ako?"

Hindi ko mapigilan ang paglunok ko ng laway. Sobrang halata na ako at this point.

"Siyempre naman haha." Hooniebear kita eh.

Pagkatapos ng mahabang kuwentuhan, nagpaalam na kami sa isa't isa.

Mahaba ulit ang biyahe pauwi, traffic pa.

a/n: HAIII so sa mga makakita po nito on their dashboard with zero context, this is a filler to a fic that I am writing. Sunghoon is Y/n's crush in this fic but he is NOT the main love interest in the story. It is Choi Yeonjun. So please PLEASE do not be mislead by this filler 😭😭😭 To my readers out there, reading this is optional. It has no significance to the plot whatsoever since a lot of points made here will also be introduced a little later in the main story, but I recommend reading it too! Chapter III - Back at One

Sunghoon's POV

Humihikab akong bumaba sa tricycle. It's flattering to have peple stare, pero bait naman ngayon pa, kung kailan parang sabog na sabog ako. Napuyat ako kagabi sa sobrang alala ko kay Y/n-

Makakasama ko siya mamaya, same course nga pala kami! Pero sa dami namin, sino siya dun? I hardly have the time to learn my classmates and their names and faces. Medyo magkahawig din yung iba and magkakaparehas ng apelyido, kaya nakakalito Para sa'kin.

Pero may Sim Y/n akong natatandaan sa listahan. Medyo binilisan ko ang paglalakad papunta sa lecture hall. I held on to the tiniest bit of hope I had that she was ok. Kailangan ko siyang makita. Kailangan kong masigurado na nasa mabuting kalagayan siya.

Pilit akong sumiksik sa mga estudyanteng nagsisipasok. May isa pa nga, tumatakbo habang hindi matanggal ang tingin sa tarpaulin ng mukha ako. Hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ba ako o magui-guilty. Kasalanan ko pa pag nadapa siya. Pero parang pamilyar siya...

I scanned the room as soon as I entered, looking for her. Pero ang dami...Sumuko na ako. Hihintayin ko nalang na mag-attendance. Natulala ako nang tapikin ako sa likod ni Heesung, at Ricky.

"Pre, hungover ka?" Tanong ni Ricky "Epekto lang yan ng sobrang pagja-ARAY!" Malakas na sabi ni Hee kaya nagtinginan ang ibang estudyante. Tinusok ko siya sa tagiliran. "Bastos talaga neto oh" Sabi ko sa kanya. Nagtinginan sila. Medyo nailang ako kasi parang may usapan sila na hindi ako kasali.

"Sige na, sabihin mo na. Sino?" Heesung interrogated .

Ha?

"Sino- Ano- Pinagsasabi mo?" Nauutal kong sagot. Nahahalataan nila kapag may problema ako.

"May bago kang chick pre?" Tanong ni Ricky.

"Hindi, gago" Matalas kong sagot.

Hinantay ko na mag-attendance, pero hindi! Buga lang nang buga ng mga malalalim na salita ang prof namin. May sense namana ng sinasabi niya, at makakatulong din 'to samin lalo na't nalalapit na ang midterms namin, kaya nakinig nalang ako.

Nasa kalahati na kami ng lecture nang mapansin ko sa gilid ng mata ko na may nakatitig sa akin. Sinubukan ko siyang tignan sa peripheral vision ko, pero hindi ko makita nang malinaw ang mukha. Tinignan ko ang nakitingin at-

Siya yung kanina! Yung nakatingin sa tarpaulin ko kanina! Pero...

Teka....

Nilabas ko ang phone ko at pumunta ako sa Instagram. Binuksan ko ang account ni Jake at nag-scroll ako sa account niya.

"Sim Jaehyun and 6 others."

I clicked the '6 others' and scanned the list.

Siya nga. Siya nga ang nakatitig sa akin.

Gumanti ako ng tingin. Tinitigan ko din siya.

"Awit pre type ka" Bulong ni Heesung. Pinili ko nalang na hindi siya pansinin.

She's a lot cuter than I expected. Ang pinaka-memory ko lang kasi sa kanya, yung nangungulangot siya sa 5th birthday party niya.

She looks like she's hinting na gusto niya akong kausapin. Or maybe she's drifting off in a daydream? Anyways, I should go up to say hi, or ask her out for coffee....for old time's sake.

Balita ko, kakaahon niya lang sa matinding break up. Maybe this can help her relax a bit.

But what if she takes this the wrong way? 

I snap back to reality nang bigla niyang iitsa ang ulo niya sa kabila. So the staring was unintentional?

I feel Heesung's arm nudging my side. He points at her direction.

"Kakilala mo ba yan tol?" Tanong ni Heesung.

"Oo, kababata ko 'yan eh. Hindi na nga lang kami nag-uusap."

"Bakit?" Tanong ni Ricky.

"...Family problems lang..."

Tumango nalang ang dalawa at hindi na nagtanong. They must've noticed how uncomfortable I am.

Nang mag-ring ang bell, mabilis siyang tumayo pero hindi siya agad lumabas. Hindi rin naman siya makakalabas, lalo na't nag-stampede sa may pintuan. Lumakad ako papunta sa kanya, babatiin ko sana siya, kaso nakita niya ako at tinititigan niya akong maglakad. Hindi ba nanunuyot mata nitong babaeng 'to? Nang medyo palapit na ako, umiwas siya bigla ng tingin. Natatakot ba siya sa'kin?

"Miss Sim?" Mabilisan kong tanong. Dahan dahan niya akong nilingon. This is the first time I see her adorable facial features up close again in twelve years. I felt a sense of longing, or that's one way to put it.

I missed her.

"Sim Y/n right? Do you have something you want to tell me?" Nagtanong na rin ako, just in case. Kaso parang umakward lalo, mukha akong assumero.

"Ahh, wala naman" She said it a little slowly na medyo nauutal. Halatang halata sa mukha niya na kabado siya. Parang sanggol na kinikilala yung mga nasa paligid nila. What if, hindi niya na talaga ako maalala? And I'm just another creep who goes up to say hi to her? But one thing I know, her guard is up. I badly want to compliment her, to tell her na "Ako 'to, si kuya Sunghoon mo."....Just so that we can relive the bond we once had as kids.

But for now......

Tumango ako.

"Oh, kapatid ka ni Jake, right? Who would have thought na magiging ganito pala kaganda ang kapatid ni Jake. Buti 'di ka nagmana sa kuya mo. haha." I tried to make her aware na close kami ni Jake, while dropping compliments too.

And she smiled.

I don't know if it's the nostalgia, or the satisfaction of succesfully making her smile, but my heart melted at the sight.

"Ako nga pala si Sunghoon, nice to meet you." After twelve years....

She shaked my hand and the warm feeling came rushing back. I just want to hug her, while we both cry. Pretending that we are still in the treehouse where we once played 'family'.

"Sim Y/n, nice to meet you rin." Her voice was soothing. It made me feel safe.

"Hey um, if you want, we can go for coffee, maybe? Or take a snack?" I ask.

"Sure! I'd love to!" I smile at her enthusiasm.

We hung out at the nearby coffee shop while chatting. We talked about each other. Or rather, she talked and I listened. Hearing her voice, all matured and now speaking with more intelligence after 12 years....it made a part of me sink.

"Naaalala mo pa ba ako? Yung totoo." Tanong ko.

She was a bit taken aback by the question, but she soon answered.

"Siyempre naman, never kitang nakalimutan. Not even once." sabi niya habang nakangiti.

Hindi ko naitago ang ngiti ko. So she does remember me. I took a big sip of the ot coffee to atleast prevent the tears welling up at my tearducts.

Time flew fast, hindi namin namalayan na magaala-sais na pala. Ihahatid ko sana siya kaso may dadaanan pa daw kasi siya after.

I bid her goodbye and watched the tricycle drive off until I couldn't see her anymore.

Atleast ngayon alam ko na...na she still remembers me. 'Yan ang mahalaga para sa'kin.
