Aracnist's UDIMO

There's not many conversations about it and what people mostly chalk their UDIMO (animal/item suitcase form) up to is that it represents the arcanist as a person. Like symbolism to their personality.

But I also like how it also reflect how they're raised and what their upbringing is like.

The main ones being people raised under the Foundation, or taken it at a young impressionable age, are all dog UDIMOs. Sonetto, Horrorpedia, Medicine Pocket. Arcanists that are likely taken in by the Foundation before their arcanum has fully manifested. They're all dog UDIMOs so far. (It could as be a jab at Pavlov reference to having experimented on mainly dogs, which is fucked up) And even arcanists like X is a lil lab rat UDIMO.

I find it fascinating that UDIMO has so much more symbolism to them than just their nature as a person, but also reflects their upbringing and overall viewed by a greater narrative.

Welcome to me writing infos and fun facts about my Reverse 1999 OCs, Mother Bakery and Precious! I thank @acesw for helping me write ideas for their UTTU Medium and Inspired by ones! I was pretty confused back then so I'm very glad! :D Now, let's not waste any time, I'll walk you through both of them to get to know them better! (let me know if there are historical inaccuracies since I feel like I haven't researched much ;-;)

𝑀𝑜𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝐵𝒶𝓀𝑒𝓇𝓎 (a.k.a Boulangerie Mère)

Mineral Arcanist / Reality DMG

An arcanist's work exhibited in the 1950s for 35 years. Completed in spring, on March 21st. First exhibited and displayed in Starsbourg, France.

A diligent baker and a hardworking single-parent. She owns a little bakery that bake breads with her "special methods and ingredients" to make money for a living. Though people are suspicious of her, they can't help but feel at ease around her due to her motherliness, inside or outside of her work.

Medium: Love

Inspired by: Crystalline Salt [Mineral] Local Baking

Fragrance: Ground Cinnamon, Goat Milk, Carbuncle Dusts

Fun Facts:

She carries her baby, Cosette, around in the suitcase and in battles! Don't worry, she knows how to protect her child and teammates like what a mother always does!

Her and her baby's udimo is based off of Babydoll Sheeps!

When she opens her bakery, she has several tactics. She only opens every two weeks, gives the buyer a note that says "Si tu manges plus de deux tranches, tu deviendras une méchante bestiole!", and if they got the side effects (ex. Aggressiveness), she'll secretly kick their stomach to vomit them out, and be on her merry way. So, do as Mother told you or you'll get the price!

Intellect Arcanist / Mental DMG

A ???'s work exhibited in the 18th century for an unkown period. Completed in winter, December 10th. Originally exhibited in Birkshire, England, then the exhibit was relocated to Chicago, USA, and "claimed" by the Manus Vindictae. It is now kept under surveillance in the School of Discipline and Behaviour Modification.

Delicate, fragile, yet has an aura of wisdom. She have been put through so much pressure, so please handle carefully upon contact. Offers therapeutic sessions for those who needs it the most, if she is permitted, that is.

Medium: Boundless Knowledge

Inspired by: Wisdom of the Healer [Intelligence] Therapeutic Meditation

Fun Facts:

Precious's inspiration is the characters from Houseki no Kuni/Land of the Lustrous, meaning she's a walking crystal humanoid! She is a semi-immortal zircon!

"Working" with the Manus gave her too much pressure as she have to give pieces of her to them as a form of healing almost every hour. She almost broke herself because of it.

She was once a part of Queen Victoria's family, as the queen found her lying near the castle and took her in as her lady-in-waiting due to obedience and precious knowledge. That is how she got her name!

So is Halley’s abilities somewhat like time dilation? Just that i got reminded of how increased gravity can slow down time. Its one of einsteins theories if im not wrong.

Oh also i like to think what the storm reverses is spacetime (that is, when i wanna get sciencey) which isnt the same as time itself. So this distinction you’ve made isnt too out there I don’t think.

I don’t think halley’s abilities are op for r1999, but if you’re still on the fence about it why not look at it from a different angle and see which one you prefer? So like same concept but different ways to do it, i find it helps when coming up with abilities. (its actually happening to me rn as i make ocs for this anime im watching)

full disclaimer: physics is my weakest subject right after biochemistry, so when I went to do research on time dilation and the Theory of Relativity in general, I could barely understand alkjlkaslkjalsd so I didn't use the term "time dilation". But yeah, Halley's powers were intended to be space-time manipulation, specifically. (though maybe working more fantastically than in real life)

ok, so, before I do some selective infodumping about my fuckass bastard child, need to clarify a couple things.

Basically Im going for the same "naming convention" as Tennant, in the sense that this guy's codename is simply his surname (which is Albani, technically he's still nameless as of now but shush it is not my primary priority).

I also want to be very clear on the fact that I am a very very casual artist and I haven't drawn Albani in a way I am satisfied and willingly to share with others yet, so until I do, I'm gently going to ask you to take a look at the 1830's fashion wikipedia tab for a reference if you would like to have an idea of how he could likely look like.

One last thing before I get on what I have worked so far, he is partly inspired by the guy below, both in terms of his voicelimes, ideas and thought processes he mentions in his voicelines and to some degree, life circumstances (he is the guy that wrote the "sempre caro mi fu quest'ermo colle" poem of sonetto's combat line)

To the future: reference to "dialogue between tristan and a friend". The overall point here is that Leopardi (the author), through tristan's words, claims that the achievements of the masses will be favored over the achievements of singular people in this new century.

This has affected Albani, it made him reflect, but ultimately he believes that even if in the grand scheme of things he will be insignificant, there is an inifinite amount of things he can do for making his or the life of people around him better.

Chitchat I: reference to "dialogue between nature and an icelander". For "the world", he does not mean the people living in it, but rather the actual unanimate entity of world he's living in.

The overall point is "nature literally created us when we didn't even agree to that, least it can do is treat us somewhat decently bruh D:"

Chitchat II: backstory relevant reference to "chant of an asian pilgrim shepherd?"

Basically, in the original work, the shepherd talks to the moon, believing it shares the same plight as common men, but later he realizes that the moon is immortal, fundamentally different and indifferent to the suffering of men.

The idea at hand here is that I plan to give Albani a buddy, (he's not dead btw, they parted on good terms due to greater circumstances) and the buddy is meant to symbolize the moon, but as the moon he does care about him, so even if they are separated Albani still seeks his (symbolical) comfort and/or knowledge in times of need because he knows the moon will listen to him.

Monologue is cross reference between tristan and asian shepherd, the overall point is "in spite of our shitty condition, we should strive to help each other to soothe the pain such condition gives us"
