thinking about Eliot having beef with the psychics and calling them losers in the first episode, Eliot who has a bulletproof spell he can give to Quentin to keep the specialist from reading his mind, Eliot who only Margo knows is from Indiana and only because he had to tell her to pass the trials - and Eliot telling Quentin, who he's only known for a few weeks, about Logan Kinnear because he thinks it might make Quentin feel better.

Thanks to the rewatch chat (esp @bredalot and @cpmhew) for bringing this idea together. I had some tentative plans for 1x01 vs 3x05 parallels, but now it's actually a set

This moment

I just love this moment, getting to see all the emotions as Eliot begins to remember. How much Quentin, their family, their lives together mean to him as it all comes flooding back...with the smell and taste of a peach. Regardless of what he says later...he feels so deeply about it. So glad we got this. It's also so striking/appropriate to me that Eliot remembers through vivid physical sensation, while Quentin remembers through reading. But this moment...somehow for me encapsulates everything.

quentin coldwater's entire character can be summed up by him struggling to summon the welters ball with magic until alice just bends down and picks it up because you really didn't have to use magic to do that

The funniest goddamn line to me in all 5 seasons is "You killed cancer puppy?" Entirely because of Rick Worthy's delivery. It's PERFECT.

I remember the girl in the rainbow shorts but I never noticed she’s wearing a unicorn t shirt until this watch somehow. not quite 4 minutes into the pilot we are establishing Quentin’s type as horse girls hilarious

They really... never actually explained why Q kept having visions of Jane Chatwin, huh. Unless I'm missing something? He's a physical kid, to my memory they never said Jane was doing anything to his head, I don't think they ever gave any reason for it? The visions just stopped after he went to Fillory? Was it supposed to be that Fillory itself sent the visions?

i started my rewatch starting at season 1 and uhhhhh... its already so fucking long i have so many thoughts already. and tbh this is just for me but like nobody is gonna wanna read all of this

to add on to the previous post, the fact that Alice is so into Quentin is one of the many layers of why him cheating on her is fucked up, one of the other fun layers being what we see in ep 10 of Alice's parents' very libertine sex life - like how much of Alice's stuff (pastel sexy librarian look, lost her virginity with her clothes on, difficulties talking about her and Quentin's sex life) is consciously or unconsciously tied up in rebellion to her parents? Or a result of the damage they left her with? was dating Quentin the nice sweet shy boy (who reminds her of her brother *cough*) supposed to be another rebellion? And then he cheats on her with two people, one of them a man, so the betrayal is also of the idea of who Quentin was supposed to be, who Alice maybe thought he was, on top of everything else.

Eliot getting right to work with the physical, Quentin working hard with the intellectual, notebook in hand. They work so well together. Both, of course, being super smart and super creative. Such a great team. Love them both so much.
