❛ you’re so bad at this. it’s cute~ ❜ \ childe.

when lumine asks childe if he can teach her how to use a bow, she doesn’t expect it to be so 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩. nocking an arrow, she tries to do as he instructs, but as soon as she releases the bowstring, the arrow slips out of place and falls to the ground. she has to resist the urge to sigh in defeat as it lays there, an insulting reminder of her failure. this is the third time in a row that she’s managed to 𝗌𝖼𝗋𝖾𝗐 𝗎𝗉 the very basics of shooting a bow. how does he make it look so easy? no matter what he does, he does it with a skill that makes lumine envious. 

❝ cute? i'm not cute. ❞

is he mocking her? surely not. he should know better than that. his teasing tone and the way her cheeks 𝒻𝓁𝓊𝓈𝒽 pink from embarrassment have her wanting to strangle him.  is he looking for a beating? if so, she can arrange one. the  𝚑𝚞𝚖𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗  of being terrible at something eats at her. she knows a new skill doesn’t come easy, but she feels 🇮​🇲​🇵​🇦​🇹​🇮​🇪​🇳​🇹.​ she should be capable of so much more. 

her body language relaxes and she pouts, still annoyed at childe for insinuating she’s ‘𝒸𝓊𝓉𝑒’ in any way. she wants to make him eat a little dirt for the comment, but she calms herself. don’t give up, lumine. with a deep breath, she finds her resolve. she picks up the offensive arrow that derides her far more than childe does with a petulant look on her face. lumine can't meet his gaze and she feels a bit a shame for almost giving up.

❝ ..can you.. show me again? ❞

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who say "I love you" and they don't really mean it. I take that phrase very seriously and I don't appreciate it when people say it so lax. Like dude, I've hung out with you twice. Ya sure you "love" me? When I say it, whether to friends or actual loved ones, i mean it. So please don't just throw that word around like it means nothing. There's a reason its a special phrase.
