59. Orange
There was a reason the Spanish had named it Colorado, she supposed. Good heavens, she had never seen the soil this color before. This- this stark orange-red that just was. She didn't quite know what to say beyond that. The company was a couple weeks into the mountain range, and still she couldn't make anything of it. They had heard from trailguides and the like about the phenomenon, but word of mouth didn't prepare you for all the orange. The soil, the sand, the rocks and the river. All orange. She was half surprised the grass wasn't orange as well.
