Andy Vajna has died.

For Americans, he was a producer behind such films as Rambo, Terminator, Die Hard, and the such.

He was also Hungarian, leaving the country in 1956, when he was12, then moving back to Hungary some years back.

He was an asshole. He was under inspection by IRS for tax evasion (uofficially, he couldn’t go back to the States for years because of that). Friends with our dictator-esque prime minister, he was working as Government Commissioner in charge of the film industry. He bought the second biggest commercial TV channels here (and its sister cable channels), which then became the hotbed of governemnt propaganda. He opened casinos here, with government help. His 40-years-younger-than golddigger wife took her cat to Los Angeles to see a vet on a private jet last year, most likely from our tax money.

So, yeah, I’m not sad about his passing.
