In 1967 when Radio 1 was founded as a successor to the BBC Light Programme, one of its aims was to reach housewives – and to attract them, the station employed only male DJs (or “husband substitutes”, as they were known behind the scenes) for the first three years. It was only in 1970, bending with the times, that it took on its first female presenter, Anne (later Annie) Nightingale, a former journalist and television presenter with almost no radio experience.
The original male presenters have long since left the station, but Nightingale was still working for Radio 1 at the time of her death, aged 83, and had become its longest-serving broadcaster, most recently on air in December 2023. Known to fans as the Queen of Breaks – breakbeat was her specialist genre – she defied the station’s usual career trajectory (five years as a top-tier presenter, then off to weekends or Radio 2) by staying relevant. She introduced listeners to prog rock, punk, indie and dance music, and was unfeignedly passionate about them all. At 75, she told a dance magazine: “I listen to what 13-year-olds listen to because that’s the future. [I’ve] got to be ahead of the game all the time.”
As a dance music specialist from the late 1980s onward – playing “the biggest bass bangers”, as Radio 1’s website put it – Nightingale spent the second half of her career broadcasting to people too young to have known that she had been friends with the Beatles and Marc Bolan. But her age was immaterial because of her stature in the dance world. In 2001, she received Muzik magazine’s Caner of the Year prize in recognition of her late-night lifestyle – her favourite of all her awards, which also included an MBE in 2002 for services to broadcasting (advanced to CBE in 2020), and an honorary doctorate in journalism.
She was a highly knowledgable musical curator, and an expert at exploiting the intimacy of radio. Though Nightingale prioritised music over DJ patter, she recognised that a human voice was still an essential part of the mix; husky-toned and self-deprecating, she belied the station’s early fear that a female DJ would lack authority. According to the writer Irvine Welsh, who listened to her while growing up, her “cool, funky tones” stood out against “the flatulent sounds of loud, boring, thick and egotistical men strafing the airwaves”.
An only child, Nightingale was born in Osterley, west London, to Basil, who ran a wallpaper company, and Celia (nee Winter), a chiropodist. Educated at the independent Lady Eleanor Holles school in Hampton, she left before her A-levels. Overriding her parents’ request that she have “something to fall back on”, she enrolled on a journalism course at the Regent Street Polytechnic (now the University of Westminster). Moving to Brighton after graduation, she married a Fleet Street journalist, Gordon Thomas, and had two children. After a short stint at the Brighton and Hove Gazette, she became the only woman in the newsroom at the Brighton Argus.
Along with reporting local news at the parish-council level, she was given a music column called Spin With Me, which gave her access to the biggest pop stars of the 60s. Her friendship with the Beatles later helped open doors at Radio 1 – the band’s publicist, Derek Taylor, persuaded the station controller to let her audition after her own requests were repeatedly refused.
At a Dusty Springfield gig in 1964, she met Vicki Wickham, producer of Ready Steady Go!, who hired her as co-presenter of a new pop show called That’s For Me. It lasted only a few months, but the exposure led to writing work at the Daily Express and Cosmopolitan, and radio appearances on Today and Woman’s Hour. It was the era of pirate stations such as Radio Caroline; she considered applying to Caroline but was put off by the idea of “living out at sea with a bunch of blokes”.
Finally installed at Radio 1 in 1970, she was hampered at first by a lack of technical knowhow – her first day was marked by eight seconds of dead airtime when she accidentally pressed the “off” switch in the middle of a record. Yet she quickly established herself, choosing her own playlist almost from the start. Her skill at persuading listeners that what she wanted to hear was what they wanted to hear led in 1978 to the job of presenting BBC Two’s “serious” rock programme, The Old Grey Whistle Test. It had failed to keep up with musical fashion, a problem she tackled by booking the most challenging artists she could get away with and braving the consequences. She was delighted to bag Public Image Ltd for a live appearance, though frontman John Lydon repaid her enthusiasm by admonishing her for being “so fucking patronising”.
Four years at Whistle Test were followed by a return to Radio 1’s highly popular Sunday afternoon request show for 12 years. When acid house gained traction in the late 80s, she credited it with changing her life; from that point, she played solely dance music on Radio 1, first in the influential Chill Out Zone slot, then on a longstanding programme that went out at 1am on Wednesdays. Her free time, she said, was consumed by listening to the thousands of demo tapes she received every week.
Despite her achievements, Nightingale claimed she lacked confidence until she was robbed in Havana, Cuba in 1996. The attack left her unable to walk for months, but made her “a stronger person”, she said.
Though she hated nostalgia, she did reflect that ageing had been isolating. The death of John Peel, her friend from the early days of Radio 1, provoked the unusually downbeat comment: “Now John’s gone there’s nobody I know in my age group who remotely likes this kind of thing. I don’t understand why. I’m driven by it.”
She published two volumes of autobiography, Chase the Fade (1982) and Wicked Speed (2000), and a 50th-anniversary volume, Hey Hi Hello: Five Decades of Pop Culture from Britain’s First Female DJ, in 2020.
She is survived by her children, Alex and Lucy, from her first marriage, which ended in divorce. Her second marriage, to the actor Binky Baker in 1978, also ended in divorce.

ANDREW LORD NAMED ECHL COACH OF THE YEAR
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fourth-year bench boss becomes first in both franchise and Greenville hockey history to receive recognition By: Mark Binetti, Greenville Swamp Rabbits GREENVILLE, SC—The ECHL announced today that Andrew Lord, Head Coach/General Manager of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, a proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, received the John Brophy Award as the ECHL's Coach of the Year. Lord, who finished as runner-up for the award in his first season in 2021, becomes the first coach in both franchise and Greenville professional hockey history to receive the league's honor. The John Brophy Award is presented annually to the ECHL coach who has contributed the most to his team's success. The coach is chosen by ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors, and media members. The trophy is named for John Brophy, who won a record three ECHL titles with Hampton Roads in 1991, 1992, and 1998 and was inducted into the ECHL Hall of Fame in 2009. This season, Lord guided the Swamp Rabbits to a 44-23-4-1 record and 93 points in the standings, claiming the organization's first South Division Championship in over a decade with a second straight 40-win campaign. Additionally, the Swamp Rabbits earned their 30th win of the season in just 42 games, the fastest pace ever in Greenville professional hockey history. They won eight straight road games from November 14th to December 9th, a new franchise record. By holding the highest win percentage in the Eastern Conference before the Christmas break, Lord was named one of two coaches of the ECHL All-Star Team for the 2024 ECHL All-Star Classic in January. "I'm extremely honored to receive this award from the ECHL. It's truly humbling," said Lord. "A recognition like this is a true testament to the organization that we have here in Greenville. From Assistant Coach Kyle Mountain, Video Coach River Pease, our support staff in Alec Muise and AJ Smith, our players, front office, and ownership, this is a collective effort and a true reflection of our culture and determination to be better both on the ice and in the community. I'm grateful to Jeff Dickerson, our owner, Todd Mackin, Tim Vieira, our President, and everyone who made this season possible. It's a true honor, and I'm thankful for the ECHL's recognition." Over four years in the Upstate, Lord has compiled a 155-94-30-9 record in 288 games, a 0.606 win percentage. He's led the Swamp Rabbits to the Kelly Cup Playoffs each season, reaching as far as the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals in his first campaign. "I couldn't be prouder of Andrew in receiving this honor from the ECHL. It is very much well deserved," said Todd Mackin, President of Spire Holdings. "It was apparent during our hiring process four years ago that Andrew had what it takes to transform our team into one of the most competitive in the entire ECHL. He tirelessly works with his staff to build a team that's worthy of representing our community and competing amongst the best in the league. Back-to-back 40-win seasons, postseason qualification each year, and over a dozen players promoted to the American Hockey League only scratches the surface of where his career trajectory will take him. We are grateful for everything he's done for our team, both on and off the ice. I look forward to watching him continue this excellence as he pursues our first Kelly Cup Championship as an organization." Before joining Greenville before the 2020-21 season, Lord led the Cardiff Devils of the Elite Ice Hockey League to nine separate titles, including three Conference championships, two Challenge Cup championships, two League titles, and two Playoff championships. As the winningest coach in Devils history, he led the team to a 221-75-22 record across his six seasons as head coach. Before entering the coaching ranks, Lord enjoyed a lengthy professional hockey career out of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He spent ten seasons in the pro ranks, totaling 462 games. His best work as a pro was done in the EIHL, where he scored 173 points in 216 games, all with Cardiff. "Coach Lord epitomizes what it takes to be the best at his craft. The accountability and urgency he brings to our team make us better as an organization, not only on the ice, but off the ice and in the community," said Tim Vieira, Swamp Rabbits President. "Working with him is an immense privilege. His leadership of our men on the ice and our support staff has been evident from the very first day we worked together – and this recognition is a culmination of that dedication since day one. From coaching the ECHL All-Stars, to setting team records, and elevating everyone around him, there is no one more deserving of this honor." The Swamp Rabbits, 2024 South Division Champions, now look forward to the beginning of the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs, taking on the Orlando Solar Bears in the South Division Semifinals. Kristin Smart Gets Justice After A Quarter Of A Century Investigation
By Jenna Kokish, The Ohio State University Class of 2024
June 21, 2023
Tumblr media
May 25th, 1996, Kristin Smart, a freshman at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, went missing after attending a party on campus. The last person to see her, Paul Flores, had told investigators early on that he had walked with her until he reached his dorm, and they then had parted ways. Early in the investigation, Flores, was a “person of interest,” yet he denied any involvement with her disappearance. An official missing-person report was filed on May 28, 1996. The following months consisted of searching for Smart and looking for answers to this case that was suddenly going cold. They combed areas surrounding the campus, and they also searched Smart’s dorm room, along with taking cadaver dogs into Flores’ dorm room. Police had interviewed her acquaintances and they had described dropping Smart off at a fraternity house and described Smart needing support to walk following the party, which she was accompanied by Flores. In 2002, the family of Smart declared her legally dead, but there were still unanswered questions, and no body, so the investigation continued. With the case turning cold for many years, the investigation never stopped. Items that had been found were taken in for DNA testing. Over 18 search warrants were executed, and cadaver dogs, who were trained in finding human remains, were sent around the Cal Poly campus. In February of 2020, a search warrant was executed for four locations in California and Washington State, one of the locations searched in Los Angeles, California, was the property of Paul Flores. In March of 2021, investigators had executed a search on Ruben Flores’s property, the father of Paul Flores. In the search on Ruben’s property, investigators used cadaver dogs and ground-penetrating radars, where they had recovered items as evidence. Both Paul Flores, and Ruben Flores were arrested. Paul was arrested on first-degree murder charges, and Ruben was charged with being an accessory to a crime. In October of 2022, Paul received 25 years to life in prison, and Ruben was acquitted for his charges. There still has been no recovery of Ms. Smart’s body and although her family is relieved to know that somebody is behind bars for their loved ones death, they are still distraught without Smart.
Investigators and prosecutors had brought in many different forms of evidence against Flores during the trial, including a phone call between Paul and his mother, Susan, talking about educating themselves on all things in the case so they could, “punch holes in the investigators story,” and other items such as recordings from Paul’s initial interviews with investigators back in 1996. It is believed that Flores had buried Smart’s body somewhere on his father’s property in Arroyo Grande, California. Investigators dug up the backyard in 2021, where they had found a grave with the same dimensions as Smart, and it contained small traces of blood, but there was still no body. It is presumed that Flores had moved Smart’s body beforehand.

Revolutionary and Affordable New Robotics System Makes
Revolutionary and Affordable New Robotics System Makes
Just hours before the 2022 FIRST Global Challenge Opening Ceremonies at the Palexpo, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), in partnership with DEKA Research and Development Corp., unveiled the XRP (Experiential Robotics Platform) a new robotic platform that is poised to be a game changer for the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education pipeline for generations to come.Get more news about Best Price Robotic Kit,you can vist our website!
The XRP robots, still in beta form, are simple, inexpensive, easy to build, and just as programmable as a far more expensive robot. The XRP robots come with built-in educational and software support, and they are designed to operate autonomously, perform basic tasks, navigate on their own, sense distance, and manipulate their environment. Simple, tool-free assembly allows for a quick build and parts can be replaced easily with the use of a 3-D printer. When they come to market next year the 7 inches by 5 inches, weighing less than 1 lb. (17.78 cm by 12.7 cm, .45 km) -about the size of a box of chocolates-will cost less than $50.
“Robotics has proven to be extremely effective in stimulating interest in broad areas of science and technology across the entire range of student levels from kindergarten through college, but having access to affordable tools and sustainable support systems is often a barrier,” says Winston “Wole” Soboyejo, interim president of WPI. “The XRP was designed and created with that in mind, so more young people from around the world can partake in the exciting activity of building and programming robots. Our world urgently needs more STEM professionals and business leaders with differing experience(s), expertise, questions, and passions to labs and boardroom tables – only then will we be able to create, translate, and deploy new scientific insights and technologies that work for everyone.”
All 185 teams representing 180 nations at this year’s FIRST Global Challenge are given a free XRP to bring back to their home countries. The teams are challenged to share the kits with other schools or organizations who are interested in implementing or expanding robotics programs. With the kits, educators and students also get access to free online courses, created and supported by WPI, on how to build, program, and control the robot, which they can scale up using the same hardware with free software updates.
“We are at a critical time across the world when many of our most pressing problems, such as climate change, can be and need to be addressed by science and technology,” says Dean Kamen, a WPI alumnus and founder of FIRST Global and DEKA, who has been partnering with his alma mater to engage and inspire young STEM enthusiasts for more than 30 years. “The demand for this kind of talent is intense and having a global STEM workforce prepared for the future isn’t just a societal need, it’s good business. It’s also essential for every aspect of life on this planet that we continue to empower and encourage kids by joyfully engaging them in activities like the sport of robotics. This will allow the kids to understand their own potential to use science—and that of science and technology—to solve the world’s great problems.”
The actual idea to distribute an affordable robot kit around the world traces its origins to the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when WPI students abruptly switched to remote learning in spring 2020 and FIRST needed to keep competitive robotics teams working together on various entries. Both needed to figure out how to get remote students small, relatively inexpensive robots to work on for hands-on experience. Eventually, WPI incorporated a commercially available robot kit that students could purchase and build at home into its curriculum. A similar version was then used in FIRST robotics competitions—one that was able to use WPILib software, which WPI created for FIRST in 2009. From there, WPI and DEKA Research & Development Corp. continued to work together to create the XRP and help increase the global STEM pipeline with support from an NSF grant through the Engineering For Us All (E4USA) org.
“The XRP will change the paradigm for hands-on robotics education around the world by dramatically reducing cost, expanding use, and enhancing curriculum support for teachers,” said David Rogers, DEKA’s Chief Development Officer, who worked closely with WPI in developing the XRP platform.
Unlike other platforms that require several upgrades to adapt to higher levels of robotics education, the common programming language used in the XRP kits will also allow students to easily transition to more complicated projects.
“We considered every aspect of the design and materials to ensure it could not only function at a high level but remain affordable,” said Brad Miller, former director of the WPI Robotics Resource Center and senior fellow of WPI’s Global STEM Education Initiative. “To have a robot that weighs and costs less than a textbook—so potentially every student in a classroom could have one—was always our guiding light.”

DINOSAURS
[primary research]
Dinosaurs lived around 66 million years ago in a time period known as the Mesozoic Era. The Mesozoic era was divided into three periods: the Triassic, the Jurassic and Cretaceous. During the 174 million years that the dinosaurs existed the world had begun to change greatly; when the dinosaurs had evolved onto the earth in the Triassic period they roamed the supercontinent named as Pangaea however when an Asteroid hit in the Cretaceous period the continents were shifted to approximately where they are today.
Tumblr media
[primary research]
Although there isn’t any physical images of dinosaurs alive we identify them by their fossils which are dug up either intentionally or unintentionally. This often happens when a living organism is buried by sediment such as sand or silt shortly after it dies which keeps them preserved for millions of years. Preserved dinosaur marks and bones are prehistoric evidence that dinosaurs existed. Scientists that specialise in fossils use these key bits of evidence to tell us what dinosaurs looked like, how long ago they lived, what they ate, etc.
Tumblr media
[secondary research]
1987-1988
This image is a tail of a sauropod dinosaur which was found in the Sahara desert in Niger on a joint exhibition by the natural history museum and Kingston polytechnic (now known as Kingston university).
Tumblr media
[secondary research]
Example of rocks from the age in which dinosaurs lived.
palaeontologists or “dinosaur hunters” don’t just go searching anywhere for fossils many hours of well throughout research goes into finding dinosaur fossils. When palaeontologists are out hoping to find fossils they look for rocks of the right age so they know that they might consist of dinosaur fossils this is done by looking at a geological map where these rocks have been seen appearing. Rocks can naturally erode to reveal fossils meaning scientists don’t always have to dig for fossils.

The Sia network's cryptocurrency is called Siacoin. Siacoin is used by renters to pay hosts for the use of their disk space, and guests are only compensated after demonstrating that they are actually storing the requested content. File contracts, a type of smart contract used by Sia to implement this functionality, define the terms of the host-renter relationship, such as the rental Siacoin price and uptime guarantees. The network automatically upholds these contracts, which typically have a 90-day duration. In order to complete a file contract, the host must demonstrate that they are indeed saving the data they say to be doing through a procedure called as store proof, which enables a host to demonstrate that the small amount of data they are saving is actually a part of the renter's file. Siafunds: What Is It? Renters and hosts exchange Siacoin price, which is used to carry out the smart contracts created by Sia. But Siafunds, another cryptocurrency on the network, is also available. Siafunds encourage more users to participate, which helps the Sia network expand. Holders of the tokens are specifically entitled to a 3.9% share of all post-contract funding sources, include renter fees, bandwidth expenses, and host collateral. The 10,000 Siafunds tokens that were produced when Sia's software was originally released in 2015 are the only ones that will ever exist, but there is no limit to the number of Siacoins that can exist. All 10,000 Siafunds were initially owned by Nebulous, however the business has since conducted many token sales to aid in funding the network's expansion. About 8,750 Siafunds will still be owned by Nebulous in 2020, with the remaining funds being controlled by Sia users. Siacoin Blockchain: What Is It? Its Sia blockchain is comparable to the Bitcoin blockchain, but with changes that make it more effective for storing and exchanging files. Network can access the files because they are dispersed over numerous nodes. They would only have a portion of the material stored, even if they were to obtain the renter's private key. This means that Sia is able to ensure users don't have to trust one another in order to store data and use the network. As opposed to the Bitcoin Network, which is reliant on the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) which may go down without warning. Renters are additionally shielded from any malevolent hosts by the requirement of storage documentation. This forces hosts to demonstrate that they are active and correctly storing all of the renter's data. How Old Is Siacoin? In 2013, while they were computer engineering undergraduates at the Rensselaer Polytechnic School in New York, programmers David Vorick and Luke Champine founded Sia. At an MIT hackathon in 2013, they originally had the concept for the decentralized data storage network. The following season, Vorick and Champine established Nebulous Inc. with money totaling $750,000 from backers like Xiaolai Li as well as Procyon Ventures. Vorick has made contributions to both Sia and Bitcoin Core, the primary program used by miners on the Bitcoin system. How Is Siacoin Doing? Like all other currencies, Siacoin is a risky investment. Because of the strong team behind it, the good business case, well-designed tokenomics, vibrant community, and active market, it does have a larger possibility of going up than down. Other economic participants in the Siacoin price market exist, such as miners who must use computer resources to produce the blocks that group the network's transactions. As of 2020, each block that is accepted, miners receive 40,511 Siacoin price USD. (or roughly $40). Siacoin, however, isn't the only cryptocurrency initiative looking to upset the storage sector. So it may face competition for customers, which would put pressure on the Siacoin price. Is Siacoin A Good Investment? Investors lose money in around 95% of popular cryptocurrency projects and initial coin offerings (ICOs). In
the cryptocurrency business, the remaining 5% of initiatives will emerge as the new Apple, Google, and Alibaba. Will Siacoin price fall into the 5%? It's difficult to say. But there are two main reasons why the likelihood of that is greater than the majority of other coins. Valid team backing the idea, strong use case. High macroeconomic uncertainty and high inflation had a significant impact on the price of bitcoin in 2022. When internal crypto issues are considered, along with the decline of biggest powers like Voyager,  FTX, Luna and Celsius 2023 does not look too promising for bulls. Most likely, we will observe a lot of dull sideways price activity with a propensity to decline with each tiny market tremor. Can I Mine Siacoin? ASIC mining equipment is effective for mining Siacoin. CPU and GPU mining are inefficient for Siacoin. If you don't already have one, you should get a wallet address. You must have a Siacoin card details in order to receive and track your mining earnings. Every user who achieves the reward level of 100 SC is given a daily share of the mining earnings generated by Our. We pay out at a rate of 3% PPS. Set up your mining equipment. Get mining right now. Your equipment is now prepared to mine. as long as your hashrate submissions are successful. Where Can I Buy Siacoin? If so, you might want to have a look at Sia, a cryptocurrency that promises to upend the file storage industry by developing a decentralized, cloud-based alternative where users can actually make money holding data. Sia, dubbed "AirBnB for hard drives," lets users store files without worrying that their information would be viewed by businesses or corporations, utilized for ad targeting, or otherwise distributed to third parties. Siacoin (SC) is essential for using Sia and for getting access to its services. Users of Sia must purchase the right to store data on their hard drives utilizing SC. In return, people that rent out their extra space are paid in SC. What Is Siacoin Used For? Siacoin price supporters may view it as a means of reclaiming user sovereignty over their data from corporate or governmental authorities. Network users who value their privacy can save their data without worrying that someone is looking over their information. Or being subjected to adverts depending on the documents they store. This use case keeps luring potential customers to Sia, its cryptocurrency Siacoin. And rival blockchain-based products. How Many Coins Of Siacoin (SC) Are In Existence? There is no limit supply for Siacoin news. The project has said that there must have an infinite supply as it is a utility token intended to use to drive transactions through smart contracts, matching the effectively limitless quantity of data that may be created and stored. The proof-of-work mining algorithm used by the Siacoin news blockchain creates new Siacoin as mining rewards. Starting at 300,000 SC, the mining incentive fell by 1 SC for every block mined until the hit 30,000 SC on July 2020. Now, the genesis block will always be 30,000 SC. What Was The Highest Price Of Siacoin? We can say the following for Siacoin price history. The price of Siacoin increased by 15.81% in the previous day. The Siacoin price at €0.0027 per SC, and there are 51,477,014,925 SC in circulation. Siacoin price history market capitalization as of right now is €137,958,400. Siacoin's price has decreased by 87.98% during the past year. Siacoin price ranged from €0.022, which was its highest price, to €0.0022, which was its lowest. 947,002,820 Siacoin were acquired for €2,537,968 today. Siacoin Group With the addition of other engineers and executives, Siacoin Team Vorick and Champine are always actively working on their project. Sia's public beta first went live in March 2015, and in June of that same year, the live network was ultimately made available to the general public. The Sia group has raised almost $6.4 million since then. Currently, Raptor Group, First Star Ventures, Fenbushi Capital, and INBlockchain are funding Nebulous.
Who Is Siacoin Partnered With? SIA and Quant Network collaborate to investigate cutting-edge approaches to blockchain compatibility for financial institutions and banks. A partnership agreement was signed by Quant Network, a UK-based innovative technology company. And SIA, the top European high-tech company in the online payments and infrastructures sector, to discover blockchain inter - operability and the development of platform- neutral bridge applications and solutions for financial institutions and banks. To enable interoperability, one of the greatest issues and unmet needs facing the financial sector. For create and use blockchain. as well as Distributed Ledger Technologically advanced applications spanning different technologies, the partnership aims to incorporate Quant Network's crypto operating system Overledger into to the SIAchain infrastructure. What Sets Siacoin Apart? The long-term objective of Sia is to compete with current storage options, according to its whitepaper. It views itself as directly competing with big names in cloud storage, such Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. Sia is able to provide affordable storage costs due to its decentralized structure. The Sia network divides each file into 30 encrypted pieces, and for redundancy, each fragment is uploaded to a different host. On Sia's blockchain, the contracts between content creators and hosts are documented, and smart contracts are used to enforce them. On the network, Siacoin serves as the means of exchange. Renters pay hosts using SC, while hosts secure SC in payment systems as security. Is Siacoin A Meme Coin? Meme coins are digital currencies that get their inspiration from Digital and social networking jokes and memes. Dogecoin was the first meme currency produced (DOGE). A Japanese Shiba Inu dog meme known as Doge served as the basis for the 2013 parody DOGE. Meme currencies frequently exhibit considerable volatility. They are primarily driven by the community and can become well-known over night as a result of FOMO and online community recommendations. However, when investors start looking at the next meme coin, their price may suddenly drop. Siacoin, on the other hand, is not among these. Is Siacoin Private Crypto? Nodes provide network assistance, and the Siacoin mechanism distributes user data across nodes by breaking it up into smaller chunks. Since the users' data is private and can only be accessible with secret keys that establish ownership over the data, a random node cannot access it. Siacoin Price Prediction 2023 Siacoin price prediction began its voyage on December 28, 2015, at a Siacoin price USD of $1.262e-05, and over the course of the last six years, ten months, and twenty-three days, it has increased by 21435.82%. According to our analysis, Siacoin's price for January 2023 should be between $0.023 and $0.027. And the average price of SC should be close to $0.025. When we come to December, the situation changes. Our analysis predicts that Siacoin price prediction for December 2023 will be between $0.029 and $0.034. With an average price of SC of about $0.031. Siacoin Price Prediction 2024 According to our analysis, Siacoin's value for January 2024 should be between $0.03 and $0.034 with an average price of SC of about $0.032. When we come to the middle of the year, we can see an increase. Our estimate predicts that Siacoin's rate for June 2024 will be between $0.033 and $0.038 with an average selling price of SC of about $0.036. Siacoin's situation in December is different. Our estimate predicts that Siacoin will trade between $0.037 and $0.043 in December 2024, with a median price of SC of about $0.04. Siacoin Price Prediction 2025 According to our forecast, Siacoin price will reach $ 0.0093 in 2025. According to Siacoin price prediction 2025 model, the Siacoin price in 5 years may be around $ 0.0044. Siacoin Price Prediction 2030 According to our forecasting model, Siacoin price will reach $0.0233 in 2030.
Siacoin might be able to reach $0.10.  But only in the far future, after 2030. Siacoin price has a strong team, a vibrant community, a good use case, and well-designed tokenomics. Since each of these is necessary for success, our Siacoin price prediction 2030 model predicts that Siacoin will increase to $0.0233 in 2030. According to our prediction model, Siacoin price will not be able to achieve $1 in the near or midterm Siacoin future.

How many bids will these sites receive? Let us know in the comments section below or on our Facebook post. This was after the en bloc fever died down due to cooling measures implemented in July that year. To the west of the land plots is the iconic Pandan Valley, which made headlines in September 2018 for putting up a record reserve price of S$2.6 billion for its en bloc sale. The tender had later ended without any bidders. It was last launched for en bloc sale in early 2019 for S$1.86 billion. Pine Grove condo is at the south of the land plots. On top of that, the land plots are adjacent to condos that had been put up for collective sales before. Other schools in the area include Nan Hua High School, School of Science and Technology, NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, and Singapore Polytechnic. Notably, the land plots are close to a variety of schools, including the famous Henry Park Primary School. The campus has since moved to Aljunied in January 2020. Located along Ulu Pandan Road, both plots are next to each other and come with a land tenure of 99 years.Īccording to the URA SPACE map, the site was previously home to Nexus International School. Both sites are under the Reserve List, meaning they will only be put up for tender when developers have bid for a price accepted by the government. URA has just released two residential sites, Parcels A and B, at Pine Grove today (30 November) under the Government Land Sales (GLS) programme.

7 Reasons to do Postgraduate Studies in New Zealand
New Zealand is known for being a country of great opportunities and a place of excellent quality of life. It is also very well known as a place of study and research. The number of students from all over the world is growing, and New Zealand is becoming increasingly attractive for postgraduate studies. New Zealand is a country where life is easy. You can make friends easily and quickly, speak with people in English, the cost of living is low, the weather is beautiful, and the landscape is stunning! This guide will give you seven reasons to do postgraduate studies in New Zealand.
Tumblr media
1. Top Ranked Universities in New Zealand
Several universities in New Zealand are in the top 100, most notably the University of Auckland. The others on the list include the University of Canterbury, the University of Waikato, etc. These have a significant impact when students decide which universities to choose from. Their education system is vast and varied, primarily from the public administered schools. Additionally, there are more than 20 universities of technology and polytechnic courses that the country boasts, which attract students from all over.
2. Courses and Course Structures
New Zealand follows the British research-based teaching system, which is similar to the Indian educational system, making it easier for Indians to adjust. Furthermore, as a result of the number of universities on the top 100 list, the number of students here has increased significantly. Some popular courses to study here include a degree in business administration, professional accounting, Engineering, etc.
3. Entry Requirements
Universities in New Zealand have a relatively more straightforward entry policy for taking students in. While scores in the United States and the United Kingdom may be exorbitant, New Zealand scores are relatively lower for admission. In addition, the visa requirements are slightly relaxed compared to other countries such as Australia, America, or England, which clamp down on international students entering their country to study.
4. Student Friendliness and Cost of Living
One thing people usually omit researching about until the very end is how student-friendly the city is. Studying in New Zealand comes at a friendly price. The cost of living there is also relatively moderate. Living expenses range around 90 NZ$ in some of the lesser cities and 150 NZ$ in some of the metros per week. A PG Course in any university in New Zealand costs about 10000 NZ$ to 30000 NZ$ annually, which is affordable considering some of its peer counterparts.
5. Live in a safe and peaceful environment
The Global Peace Index ranked New Zealand as the second most peaceful country in 2020. The country enjoys low crime and corruption rates, a politically stable environment, and a peaceful society where citizens can enjoy their day-to-day activities. It has a low crime rate. The country has a strong police force and security services. You can feel safe when you are walking on the streets, even at night. There are no areas in New Zealand that are unsafe for women or children to travel alone.
6. Country and People
Studying in New Zealand and life at any University in New Zealand, a specific exposure comes from friendly people and incredible landscapes and countryside. Citizens are welcoming to international students and are interested in learning about and respecting other cultures. Apart from this, New Zealand is also known for its remarkable landscapes and great views. Some of the greatest movies like Lord Of The Rings have been shot in scenic locations of New Zealand, which should be self-explanatory of the beauty of New Zealand.
7. You can work to support your studies.
As an international student in New Zealand, you can work up to 20 hours weekly during your semesters and full-time during breaks. You will be permitted to work full-time if you are pursuing a research masters or doctoral degree. Postgraduate study in New Zealand is growing in popularity year on year. The education system in New Zealand offers a range of opportunities that can help you gain skills and qualifications that you can apply to your career and will boost your confidence and employability.

Here's why Indian students are coming to B.C. — and Canada — by the thousands
Tumblr media
Karan Singh says his parents decided to send their son to Canada because they thought he'd get into fights at home. The 20-year-old, who studies criminology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in Surrey, B.C., hails from the tiny village of Bakipur in Haryana state, in northern India.
He said his parents thought he'd be safer halfway across the world because of the turbulent political environment in India. "There are not a lot of opportunities available to the youth [if] we compare to Canada," Singh said. "The political situation in Haryana at the moment is not very well."
Singh is among hundreds of thousands of Indian students who are choosing to call B.C. and Canada home, leading to a sharp rise in new student visa applications since 2015.
While Singh cites personal safety as the main reason for coming here in December 2021, experts say there are specific circumstances that have triggered a sharp influx of students from India recently.
India and South Asia have historically been major contributors to Canadian immigration; more than 5% of British Columbians are Punjabi native speakers.
However, post-secondary education and the promise of the Canadian dream have recently been the most important drivers of immigration. In 2015, India's student permit applications were nearly equal to those from China.
Seven years later, India accounted for nearly half of all student permit applications between January and June, while China remained relatively stable as the second-largest contributor of international students.
According to a ministry spokesperson, nearly 509,000 university students will be enrolled in BC during the 2020–21 academic year. 151.2K of those students were international students.
According to a 2017 report, British Columbia was home to one-quarter of all international students in Canada. According to Henry Yu, a history professor at the University of British Columbia, the rapid increase in applications from India can be ascribed to the country's increasing middle class, which can afford to send their children overseas.
According to research, the Indian middle class has increased significantly since economic reforms were introduced in the 1990s, resulting in an increase in spending power.
Shinder Purewal, a political scientist at KPU, believes that the diverse subjects of study available in Canada are appealing to young people in India, particularly considering the high youth unemployment rate.
"Remember, India has the world's largest under-25 or younger population," he stated. "In India, job prospects for such a big number of people are relatively restricted."
Purewal further claims that India's fast-rising private and technology industries do not provide the job stability or perks that Canadian firms provide.
Sana Banu, who came to Canada in 2018 to study advertising at Conestoga College in Kitchener, Ont., was enticed by the prospect of permanent residency and the opportunity to contribute to Canada's diverse workforce.
"Canada requires talented immigrants and skilled employees to advance its economy," she stated. "I discovered a really tolerant culture in Canada."
According to experts, overseas education is viewed as a talent marker, resulting in a parallel economy in India that wants to send students abroad.
According to Tashia Kootenayoo, secretary-treasurer of the British Columbia Federation of Students, many of those students arrive in difficult situations.
"According to our data and polls, over half of the international students--47 percent--do not have substantial financial means," she stated. "The expense of living in British Columbia surprises the majority of students."
According to Kootenayoo, the federation discovered that while overseas students made up around 20% of each institution's total student body, they contributed roughly half of all tuition fee income.
"Their payments are used to cover operating budget deficits," she explained. "The provincial government must address this issue," Kootenayoo says, noting that surveyed students, many of whom are from India, have reported an increase in food bank use in recent years.
"The province allows institutions to take advantage of these students. That is a very unfair and unjust system," she stated. Kootenayoo and the federation are requesting increased public funding for British Columbia institutions, as well as regulations freezing and capping international student fees.
