How to Apply For US Visa Application?
US Visa Application
The US is one of the uppermost visited destinations in the entire world. And while a lot of us dream of visiting the US or organizing a vacation to states, it is very significant to know about the method for US Visa.
Tumblr media
There are various types of visas that one can take for the US visit. If you wish to go on a business trip there is a separate kind of visa, whereas if you just want to visit for the purpose of tourism, then there is a distinct kind of visa.
Thus, it is very necessary for one to know about the visa type and conditions before applying for it. Let us take a look at 2 of the most relevant visa types for the US.
1) Business Visa (B1) – The B1 Visa is usually offered to individuals who are visiting for the purpose of business meetings, conferences, attending of scientific, professional or educational conventions, etc. This visa is frequently offered for a brief period of time in order to fulfill the necessity of work. Apply for US Business visa Requirements for Indian and check the required documents for USA Business visa for Indians.
2) Tourist Visa (B2) – This is the common popular Visa that is given to the majority of people for the purpose of tourism in the US. The B2 Visa is offered to people who are traveling for the goal of recreation in nature, tourism activities, visiting friends or relatives, medical treatments or activities, etc. This visa is usually offered for a longer period of time ranging from 1 year to 10 years, hence, the period of stay during one trip is a maximum of six months where multiple entries to the US are allowed.
How to apply for US Visa?
Obtaining for the USA Visa is a long method. Hence, the US visa method is pretty straightforward. Before beginning your application, you will have to circumscribe the type of visa you need. After this, proceed as per the following -
Get the certificates you require to complete the application.
You will require to fill the NIV US Visa form online: DS-160 form
You should then continue to pay your US visa fees online.
Once this is done, submit your application. You will take a fee receipt, and DS-160 approval via your email.
Using the DS-160 application barcode, and the visa fee receipt number, proceed to schedule your US Visa appointment. This requires two appointments. The first one at a VAC (Visa Application Center) for the biometric submission, and the next at a US Embassy or Consulate-General for the visa interview.
Visit the VAC for your biometric first, along with the passport, appointment, and D-160 confirmation pages.
After the submission at VAC, you will then have to visit a US Embassy or Consulate for your interview, along with your supporting certificates, appointment confirmation letter, and VAC stamped D-160 confirmation page.

US Visa Application Fee in Nigeria Today 2019
Tumblr media
Traveling to the United States of America as a foreigner requires that you possess an international passport and a visa. The visa is usually stamped on a blank page in the international passport issued by your country. Certain international travelers may be granted entry into the United States without any visa if they meet certain requirements. But for the most part, you'll need a visa to be granted entry into the US. Now, a visa does not guarantee your entry into the United States. It simply allows you to travel from your country to an entry port (Airport or land border) and seek permission from either the inspector at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to grant you entry into the country. This post shows you a step by step guide on how to apply for a US visa, check your visa status as well as requirements for a US visa.   How Much is US Visa Fee in Nigeria Today? The cost of getting a US Visa ranges from $160 to $190, depending on the type of visa.   Types of American Visa There are two different types of American visa: Immigrant Visa Nonimmigrant visa An immigrant visa is meant for persons who will like to have a permanent residence in the United States while a nonimmigrant visa is a visitor's visa. Nonimmigrant Visa will allow you to stay in the United States for a temporary period of time ranging from a few days to years. Both visa types are also subdivided into various visa categories to cater to all foreigner needs in the United States. For instance, the F and M are a subgroup of nonimmigrant visa for students while the P subgroup is for athletes. There are also others for religious workers, agricultural workers, tourists, and so on. In order to successfully apply for a U.S visa, you'll need to determine your purpose of traveling and choose a visa type accordingly. This is very important. Fortunately, the process is quite easy as the US embassy has provided a comprehensive list of all visa types and their purposes. You'll need to pay the visa fee once you determine the right type of visa for your travel. But you might want to tick off a few visa requirements before proceeding to the bank to pay the fee.   Related  Visa Application in Nigeria (Complete Guide) Canada Visa Application Fee in Nigeria South Africa Visa Application Fee in Nigeria UK Visa Application Fees in Nigeria Schengen Visa Fee & How to Apply From Nigeria Dubai Visa Application Fee From Nigeria   American Visa Requirements A valid Nigerian international passport with at least two blank pages and expiration date at least six months beyond your return date. Two colored passports Proof of funds. This could be your bank statement, payslips, or proof of assets If you have been invited by an employer or institution, you can also provide your letter of invitation as proof Visa application fee payment receipt Although having all of these will not guarantee you of a 100% visa approval, missing a few items can certainly guarantee outright denial. So, it might be prudent to get as many as you can. For instance, if you are seeking a nonimmigrant visa, having proof of assets and investment in Nigeria will increase your chances of getting your visa approved as it shows that you're not just fleeing the country. Also, providing a letter of invitation or scholarship — while not compulsory — can increase your chances of getting your visa approved.   American Visa Application Procedure To apply for a US visa, you'll need to first determine the type of visa you want. This involves choosing a visa type whose description matches your travel intent. This can easily be done from the United States' travel doc website where all visa types are listed with clear descriptions of what each provides as well as the fee for each type. You'll need to pay the visa fee once you have determined the appropriate visa type for your travel. The visa fee is a non-refundable and non-transferable fee paid for visa applications. The fee does not, in any way, guarantee that a visa will be granted to you. To pay your visa application fee: Visit any GT Bank and request for a U.S visa collection slip. Fill in the slip with your phone number, your full name and amount and make your payment. As with all bank cash transactions, you will be issued a receipt. You'll need to complete a form (the DS-160 form) online after making the payment. The next step is scheduling an appointment at the US embassy in Abuja or US consulate office in Lagos. Create a profile on the official US visa application website to schedule your appointment. Optionally, you can also schedule an appointment over the phone on (234) 1-440-6218. Your visa fee payment receipt and the 10-digit barcode number from your DS-160 confirmation page are required for the appointment scheduling. You'll wait for the appointment date once it is scheduled before visiting the US embassy in Abuja or the US consulate office in Lagos for your interview. Go along with all the necessary documents listed in the visa requirements section as well as your visa application fee receipt and barcoded DS-160 confirmation page. Once you're through with the interview, you'll need to wait for your visa approval (or denial). You can also check the progress, using the visa status tool provided by the consulate officer.   How to Check Your American Visa Status Visa status is a tool provided by the consulate officer to help applicants check the progress of their visa. You can check when your visa application is ready for an interview, if it has been issued, denied, expired, undergoing a transfer or administrative processing. Checking your visa status is very important as it helps you to take the necessary steps to move your application from one stage to the other. How to check your American visa status You need a unique 13-digit barcode number usually starting with EAC, WAC, LIN or SRC. This barcode number is your unique case number, usually present on the form I-797 that will be issued to you after completing the DS-160 form. Visit the U.S. Department of State’s Consular Electronic Application Center website Then select your visa type. There are only two options: Immigrant visa and Nonimmigrant visa. Click on the type that applies to you If you applied for a nonimmigrant visa, you'll need to select your interview location. They are listed by countries, then cities. So first off, you'll need to select Nigeria from the drop-down menu and then select the city where you apply for the visa Now enter your visa case number You'll also need to complete the reCAPTCHA to verify you are a human Click on submit Optionally, you can check your American visa status by calling (603) 334-0700 on your phone.   Compare Visa Fees in Nigeria Visa Application in Nigeria (Complete Guide) Canada Visa Application Fee in Nigeria South Africa Visa Application Fee in Nigeria UK Visa Application Fees in Nigeria Schengen Visa Fee & How to Apply From Nigeria Dubai Visa Application Fee From Nigeria Germany (Schengen) Visa Fee in Nigeria France (French) Visa Application Fee in Nigeria Australia Visa Fees and Application in Nigeria Cost of International Passport in Nigeria and How to Apply Read the full article

Let's say the truth. US visa application/interview is perhaps a game of chance. A simple online form becomes so confusing and tiring like a further mathematics. You keep wondering what you entered in your previous application that made them to deny you a US visa. This time, you're being careful and trying to get all documents together, still, you're filling in the same correct information you entered in your previous form. You have always been honest. But, but wait! No travel history, No visa! Correct? Okay, it's human to make mistakes but it is annoying when it becomes a routine. We have had a couple of interviews that didn't go well. Some were mistakes on the part of the interviewers. Do you know that some of these interviewers are interns? They are also scored based on their performances on the interviews they take. So their supervisors do some quality assurance check on them. There's a story of someone who was mistakenly denied a US visa but when he reapplied the second time, they apologised to the applicant and granted the visa. The US military invited a woman to attend his son's success in their ceremony, only for the interviewer to notice that there was no travel history in her passport. Gosh! She lost it. She said to her herself if she needed to travel round the world before she could get a US visa. It was a shock. At least a travel history starts from a country, irrespective of the size of the country you intend to go. You see, we are all humans. Let's be patient enough with them and be straightforward when interfacing the interviewers. But how patient can you be? What are the things they are looking for in every applicant? The answers come in our next post. #usavisa #usvisa #usvisaapplication #usinterview #usappointment https://www.instagram.com/p/B4QPcPFHm36/?igshid=otyu6gcp0spr
