♤ Those green eyes of hers were still watching the woman who stood not much taller than the too thin human’s 5’2”. She was cautious, very much so after everything she’d experienced in such a short amount of time. Her eyes spoke of someone who was still so young, yet had seen far too much for her age. It was the only thing about her that showed she wasn’t as young as she appeared. The teen knew she always appeared younger, more like a fourteen year old than the seventeen year old she was.
Kaisa had felt safer in the woods, away from people. It was better for her, she thought, even though it was dangerous. The blonde was human. She was aware of vampires, or at least what she could only assume, because of her close call with one.
The bruising on her pale skin was darkening, like they’d only started to appear on her pale skin. One bruise in particular that was forming from red marks appeared eerily like a handprint. Her injured wrists were clotted, and any scratches and scrapes she had were no longer bleeding as well. Kaisa knew she was hurt more than what appeared. She wasn’t exactly sure of the extent, but that wasn’t her concern at the moment. Survival and hiding were what she was focusing on.
“I can walk,” she rasped out. Her voice sounded hoarse and raw, like something happened or she was getting sick. She looked at the hand that Esme offered and swallowed hard, causing herself to cough. Kaisa coughed into the crook of her elbow, wincing, before gingerly reaching out and placing her small hand in the woman’s.
“If you wanted to harm me… I’m sure you would have already…” the girl spoke, almost inaudibly. From what she could tell, the woman she stumbled upon could have attacked her if she wanted to. It was a blessing in the teen’s mind that Esme wanted to help instead.
The girl's nod was subtle but noticeable, incredibly so with vampiric sight. Tentatively, Esme edged towards the girl. She wasn't sure what had caused her to be such a state; in fact, she reminded Esme of herself stood on top of that cliff overlooking Ashland. Getting up there had been no small feat, but Esme hadn't even realised the way branches and thorns had ripped both nightdress material and skin.
Esme paused when the space between them had been significantly closed. She maintained space between them, not willingly wishing to scare the girl more than she already was. Esme understood that no-one would willingly be in the shadows of the woods at this time of night— it's why she was so concerned.
Vibrant golden eyes scanned across the girl's skin. Esme couldn't see anything worse than grazes and bruising, but she wasn't able to feel the girl's limbs under her fingers. "Can you walk?" Esme asked, her head tilting to the side as her eyes met Kaisa's own. "I can't do much in the way of first aid out here, but I can take you back to my home and patch you up there? My husband is a doctor. If you need anything more specialised, I'm sure he can provide that for you." Esme paused, offering the girl her hand. "I promise I won't harm you."
