@vagrantminor asked:❛ it doesn’t have to be everyone, just help the people around you, as much as you can. ❜ // from beidou!
Tumblr media
"...why?"
The single word falls from between lips as the ancient creature sits upon the rocks, kicking feet idly in the waves, churning the water enough that any slip of power would hardly be noticeable. He has not revealed his true nature to the captain, but he would be foolish to think she believe him merely a human. She is of the sea, a character who has faced creatures of the depths and knows the mark of their terror when unleashed. Though he restrains himself, ultimately he is greater, and therefore far more prone to bleeding the aura that she recognises.
"What value is there in aiding the weak? In limiting oneself for the sake of others..." He turns to her, vivid cerulean studying for answer, head tipping to the side. It seems pointless to him, the idea of the strong being at the beck and call of those who cannot match seems limiting, and of little value.
He had never understood why Guizhong and Morax had loved humans so, why they desired to foster their lives than wash them from the shores...

@vagrantminor:
Beidou: It’s so lively here!
Tumblr media
"Heh, you're welcome for that!" Of course, Port Ormos is usually fairly lively all on its own, but he's taking all the credit for now. Casually, he flicks a bit of debris off his shoulder and readjusts the feather behind his ear. "Did you enjoy the show then?"

They are back.
There's an urge to hiss, to rage against the stashing of stolen goods in his domain, to pull the waves from the deep and curse that ship to the rage of the tides, but Osial is under no illusions as to his current strength. Liyue's bout and escaping the seal left him weak, weak enough that he knows his current power might sink a ship but cannot face the full might of Liyue as it stands, nor the lurking presence of Morax lingering unseen. No matter how much he desires to avenge his darling Beisht.
Feet take him across the sands of Guyun, the island formed above the carcass of his godly form, and he leans against the rock, watching with narrowed eyes, deciphering what it is the pirates haul. Presence behind him cuts into his musings and he rolls his neck to fix unnaturally vivid blue eyes in her direction.
"Captain Beidou... I presume..." he says as though he does not know, as though he has not fixed her image in his mind as one to destroy when taking retribution from this nation once. "An odd place to store cargo... do you not worry for thieves..."

🌷 For beidou 😊
"The sea captain..." Words hiss dangerously at the thought of one who often docks within his domain, treats its shores as harbour for her illegal activities, though the contempt often in such an expression is more absent than others. He supposes he can appreciate someone who does not fall in, who works outside the established order and seeks their own path.
"She respects the tides and it is known. One can not sail as well on these waters without acknowledging the power of the depths, without being aware of the expanse on which they sail." There are many sailors who do not, and feel victim to their own arrogance or ill preparations, but she does not. And the sea respects her in turn for the understanding she offers.
"She is perhaps one of the few who might be worthy of a god's favour." Not that he would offer it now, especially for her part in chasing Beisht from these waters, but he acknowledges he would have, once.
