Nicole, Civil Engineering Student (4th Year)
Customer Job(s):
The first thing that Nicole does whenever she has something to do is take down notes on all the things that she needs to be done that day. Together with these notes, she includes the deadlines so that she'll be able to know which of the activities she had listed must be accomplished first.
Pain(s):
When Nicole is unable to take down notes on the task, she will forget the activities that she needs to do. Besides, she will do tasks that do not supposedly come first.
Gain(s):
As for her, with the help of the activity organizer, she will be able to list the tasks that she needs to be done. She will also finish tasks that have deadlines at a specific time, and other tasks will follow.
Insight(s):
As students, we are sometimes bombarded with activities with strict deadlines. Besides, there are activities where deadlines are in a row and the time gap between those activities is little, so we rush or cram on making those activities. So, with the help of these activity organizers with great features, we students are able to list down the activities with set deadlines. Furthermore, we will have a smooth process for making our task. We will be able to finish the task on time, and we can't neglect the first task that needs to be done first. It will help students who are struggling with balancing their time, especially when you are a student with busy schedules.

In the world of Technopreneurship, a Value Proposition Canvas is a helpful tool especially for startups to know the needs of the customer, so that they can align their product to them. During the customer interview, the following questions are asked:
What challenges do you currently face when commuting using jeepneys in CDO?
How do you usually find routes or directions for unfamiliar destinations?
What features would you find most useful in an app that helps you navigate jeepney routes in CDO?
How important is real-time information (like jeepney arrival times or traffic conditions) to you when using public transport?
What additional services or information (e.g., fare estimates, alternate routes) would you expect from a public transport app like Ruta CDO?
The interviewee’s response to each question:
What challenges do you currently face when commuting using jeepneys in CDO?
Answer: The common problems that are faced when using jeepneys are heavy traffic, leading to hassle commute for working people, and the loading period of jeepneys which adds to the commuting time of the commuters.
How do you usually find routes or directions for unfamiliar destinations?
Answer: With the use of GPS, finding routes is much easier.
What features would you find most useful in an app that helps you navigate jeepney routes in CDO?
Answer: It could be helpful if the app that is used by commuters can detect approaching vehicles.
How important is real-time information (like jeepney arrival times or traffic conditions) to you when using public transport?
Answer: It can help commuters choose alternate routes for faster travel.
What additional services or information (e.g., fare estimates, alternate routes) would you expect from a public transport app like Ruta CDO?
Answer: It would be better if the app "location smart" or it could detect available public vehicles so that commuters could arrive at their desired location earlier.
Insight/s:
From this interview activity, commuters in Cagayan de Oro City face significant challenges related to heavy traffic and extended loading times when using jeepneys, making their commute more time-consuming and frustrating. While GPS helps in finding routes, there is a strong demand for real-time updates, including jeepney arrival times, vehicle detection, and traffic conditions. Commuters would benefit greatly from a public transport app like Ruta CDO if it offers features such as detecting approaching vehicles, providing real-time traffic information, and suggesting alternate routes. The inclusion of services like fare estimates and vehicle availability could enhance the overall commuting experience by enabling faster, more efficient travel.
The answers will be evaluated by us, the startup team, to prepare our product which is the Ruta CDO app to fulfill its purpose. This will help us to focus our objectives on what our customers really need. By understanding their pains, we can provide them with a solution that will give them benefits, and that benefit can be offered by our product.

1. What will you do in the process of looking for an OJT?
I would start by asking my classmates or friends if they know any companies offering OJT. I’d also check online platforms like JobStreet or LinkedIn to see if there are any openings. If I can’t find anything, I might ask my professors for advice or approach companies directly by sending emails with my resume.
Pains:
What challenges do you think will you face when finding an OJT?
One big challenge would be finding a company that is actually hiring OJTs since a lot of them prefer experienced people. Another issue might be balancing the application process with my schoolwork. It’s also stressful not knowing if I’ll get accepted or not.
Gains:
How will an ojt finder improve your situation?
It would make things a lot easier by giving me a clear list of companies that are specifically looking for OJTs. It would save me time and effort from having to look everywhere, and it would help me avoid companies that aren’t open to OJT applicants. Plus, it would reduce the uncertainty of finding the right opportunity.

Developing NavigaTour’s Value Proposition and Business Template
Customer requirements are a complex mixture of many requirements that are frequently contradictory. It is critical for businesses to map out these needs, determine which ones they want to cover, and prioritize which ones they want to address first. And, in order to complete this task in a systematic manner, the Value Proposition Canvas is used.
Value Proposition Canvas (VPC), according to our speaker, Engr Marbert Jael, is a process that will assists you in understanding your audience and their problems. Furthermore, it will assist you in determining which product-market fit is best for your project; understanding your market and developing a product that meets their actual needs. Product-market fit is indicated by matches between customer profiles and value propositions, which increases the project’s chances of success.
A Good Value Proposition Canvas should be able to answer the following questions:
What your customer needs and cares about.
What you do really well.
What your competition does really well.
Understanding why customers buy is the heart of the value proposition because, simply telling people about a great product does not always make them want it; if you don’t explain the value clearly, chances are, they won’t buy it.
The two shapes represent NavigaTour's value proposition and customer profile. This figure both helps us understand our market's needs and how our application can best deliver to our target market. Data was collected from ten random people via an online interview using Facebook, Instagram Video Call, and GoogleMeet. Our customer profile is depicted in the graph. It is divided into three sections: jobs, pains, and gains. This process allowed us to think from the end-perspective user's when defining the tasks, challenges, and desires of our target market.
NavigaTour’s Value Map
The value proposition map is represented by the square on the canvas. This, like the circle, is divided into three parts. Each section corresponds to the relevant customer profile section. The goal here is to map out the features, functionality, and benefits of our application that will attract customers and meet their needs from the circle. Value Proposition Canvas is an excellent tool for companies and product teams. This process allows you to analyze your strategies, improve your products, and better understand your market, thereby assisting you in achieving a better fit between your product and the market.

Creating Value Proposition Canvas and Business Template
Engr Marbert Jael headed the plenary class for this week, in which he discussed the importance of creating a value proposition canvas and business template in a startup company.
The discussion was insightful, and I have learned about the process of creating a VPC and business template and the significant role it plays in building a startup company. The Value Proposition Canvas is a business model tool that aids in positioning a company's product or service around the values and demands of its customers. A business model's Value Proposition Canvas is crucial. It aids the company's decision-making and product positioning. It's more than a visual representation of what customers want. Businesses can tailor their strategy to meet the needs of their customers. This can aid in the creation of a product that customers desire.
Creating a value proposition canvas has several advantages:
1. Focused Planning
A Value Proposition Canvas serves as a visual reference. It guarantees a focused approach to creating a high-demand product.
2. Increases the reach of marketing
Launching a new product necessitates a significant amount of marketing and branding effort. It entails informing customers about how purchasing the goods will meet their demands—this aids in creating a solid brand image in customers' eyes. A Value Proposition Canvas is a powerful tool for identifying client needs and developing a plan to address them. With this in place, promotions and advertisements may easily attract the attention of customers.
3. A high level of customer involvement
A Value Proposition Canvas connects the process of identifying and meeting needs. This structure allows you to concentrate on the aspects that clients care about the most. As a result, there is a high level of customer interaction.
4. Easy to use and understand
A Value Proposition Canvas provides a basic summary of the company's operations. Analyzing the product strategy and performance becomes broad while remaining straightforward.
On the other hand, a business thesis template assists businesses in systematically organizing their thoughts and ideas. To define the business goals and how to attain them and identify any potential roadblocks. When the company gets busier, it gives a straightforward approach.
For our startup team, we’ve decided to settle and pursue a mobile application called NavigaTour. NavigaTour is a 2D indoor or mall navigation app that helps customers/tourists seamlessly and conveniently locate areas (shops or facilities) within the mall that they desire to visit.
We conducted an initial interview with ten (10) individuals to assess their needs and help create the user-end of the value propositions canvas and see if their goals, conditions, and desires align with ours. We have identified the gains they want to have, the job they seek to do, and the pains they are encountering. On the product’s end, we concluded that our features, gain creators, and pain relievers are in line with those of our respondents’.
