Pune Set To Receive Second Vande Bharat Express Train By April 2023
Tumblr media
The Indian Railways is all set to introduce a new Vande Bharat Express train, replacing the Secunderabad-Pune Shatabdi Express with new rakes starting from April of this year. The new train is expected to belong to the Secunderabad rail division under the South-Central Railway. The decision to replace the Shatabdi Express with Vande Bharat rakes is in line with the railways' plan to introduce more Vande Bharat trains in the country.
Currently, there are ten Vande Bharat Express trains operating across the country, connecting various cities through a high-speed route. The Central Railway already has two Vande Bharat Express trains - from CSMT (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) to Solapur and CSMT to Shirdi. A senior official from the Central Railway stated that the response to the CSMT-Solapur Vande Bharat train is better than the one running between CSMT-Shirdi, with an average occupancy of almost 90%. This train also acts as an additional connection between Pune and Mumbai.
While the plan is to replace the Howrah-Pune Duranto Express with a Vande Bharat rake, officials have noted that it may take some time as Vande Bharat rakes currently only have chair cars for passengers, unlike the Duranto, which has sleeper classes as well. Nevertheless, the introduction of more Vande Bharat Express trains is expected to enhance travel experiences and provide better connectivity across various parts of India.
Apart from that, Indian Railways is also planning to introduce Vande Bharat Express in Jammu and Kashmir, in order to connect the Kashmir Valley with other parts of the country. The semi-high-speed train will operate on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla route.
Furthermore, the national transporter is all set to launch its 13th Vande Bharat Express train by next month, which will run between New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and Guwahati (GHY). This will be the first Vande Bharat Express train in Assam and Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) zone, and the second in West Bengal. The NFR zone will operate and maintain the train, and the concerned departments have been instructed to make necessary arrangements. However, the date of inauguration, commencement of commercial services, and other details have not yet been disclosed.
The Vande Bharat Express offers passengers an aircraft-like travelling experience, with a maximum speed of 160 kmph and travel classes similar to the Shatabdi Train but with better facilities. The train's major systems have been designed and built in India, in line with the Prime Minister's vision of "Make in India"

Vande Bharat Express Trains Trials Likely on 10 February for Mumbai to Shirdi and Mumbai to Solapur Ghat Routes
Tumblr media
The trial for Vande Bharat Express trains on two routes will take place on 10 February in the ghat sections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present to launch the said train for the routes Mumbai to Solapur and Mumbai to Shirdi. The high-speed train from Mumbai to Shirdi will probably run through the Thal ghat in Kasara clocking 5.25 hours and 340 kilometers.
And the Mumbai to Solapur Vande Bharat train will possibly run through the Bhor ghat, which is placed between Karjat and Khandala in the direction of Pune. It will cover 400 kilometers in 6.35 hours. Currently, additional locomotives or bankers are used to haul the trains that pass through both these ghats. The bankers also help to avoid train rollback if the parting of coaches occurs. A railway official said that they may receive trains within the next week and later from Chennai-based integrated Coach Factory.
And after this, the trials will begin for the ghat sections. The bankers attaching and detaching consumes a few minutes, leading to an increase in travel time because of technical halts. Vande Bharat Express will assist in substituting the bankers for the ghat sections as it will come with parking brakes. These brakes will avert the train from rolling down on a gradient. The trains will have a gradient of 1:37. It indicates a rise of 1 meter for every 37-meter run.
Thal ghat also known as Kasara ghat is 14 kilometre long. It runs between Kasara and Igatpuri sections. The Bhor ghat is known as Khandala ghat as well. It is around 25 kilometers long and runs between Karjat and Khandala stations. These ghats are also the toughest railway sections in India, with high via ducts and multiple tunnels.
Vande Bharat Express trains are equipped with automatic plug doors with sliding footsteps, a control management system to keep air-conditioning in check, a touch-free sliding door in the coach itself, and passenger infotainment and information system for each coach. The train also has ‘kavach’, which is a collision-avoidance system. Last but not the least, the train also has bio-vacuum toilets like those in airplanes.
There are a total of eight trains of Vande Bharat Express to date, which the center has launched for different inter-state routes. It also comprises one that runs between Mumbai and Gandhinagar. This is a semi-high-speed indigenously designed train. It is a self-propelled automotive with a set of 16 coaches, with a speed of 160 kmph covered in only 140 seconds, giving a better comfort and riding experience to passengers.

New Post has been published on http://www.visionmp.com/singing-vande-mataram-is-absolutely-an-individuals-choice-says-union-minister/
Not singing Vande Mataram doesn't make one anti-national: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi
Mumbai: Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday said singing ‘Vande Mataram’ was a “matter of choice” and those refusing to sing it could not be dubbed as anti-nationals.
“Singing Vande Mataram is absolutely an individual’s choice. Those who want to sing can sing it, those who don’t, may not. Not singing it does not make one anti-national,” said the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, who was in the city for an event, speaking to a news agency.
He added that however, if someone deliberately opposed the singing of the national song, written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, it was “in bad taste” and “”not in the interest of the country”.
Sparks flew in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Friday as the ruling BJP MLAs slammed Samajwadi Party’s Abu Asim Azmi, who opposed a demand for making the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory in the schools and colleges of the state.
Citing a recent Madras High Court order, which made singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory in the Tamil Nadu schools, BJP MLA Raj Purohit said it should be followed by the schools and colleges in Maharashtra as well.
Azmi said he would not sing ‘Vande Mataram’ even if he was “thrown out of the country”, while AIMIM MLA Waris Pathan said he would not sing it “even if a revolver is put to my head”.
Speaking at Shirdi, state PWD Minister Chandrakant Patil on Saturday said no one should have a problem saying ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Meanwhile, commenting on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s return to the NDA-fold, Naqvi described the JD(U) chief as “a natural ally of the BJP”.

Shirdi, the town where Sai Baba preached and lived for many years, is one of the most revered places in India. Devotees of Sai Baba make way to his abode, for his Darshan and to know more about the spiritual leader’s life and impact on the society and soul. Since each year, thousands of visitors flock to Shirdi, it is unsurprising, that the town is well-connected to most of the major metro and Tier II cities of India. By both road and air, Shirdi is accessible easily. But it is by rail, that the maximum visitors reach Shirdi. And though there are different trains from different destinations stopping at Shirdi, the Vande Bharat Shirdi to Mumbai Express train is perhaps, the best and fastest way to reach.
