Cause no, i never got around to talk about this I don't think (was kinda self conscious about it) and I have absolutely thought about this. 👀

In something more canon compliant, I think Mr. Plant would definitely come out the winner as he usually does. 🥴And poor Thorn would be not more than a smear and a memory if he didn't have Mr. Flower there to convince Mr. Plant not to just snap his neck immediately.

Though Thorn would definitely attempt to put up a fight.

Manz is feisty. And unfortunately, mouthy and stubborn enough to let it happen again if he survives the first encounter.

But considering all the things Thorn gets up to and has been involved with in a lot of my more fantastical AU settings- and how the rules of the Void may change depending on the AU, i think he and Mr. Plant would often be fairly matched but it also depends on the situation.

They wouldn't be allowed to kill each other but that doesn't mean they aren't gonna try to beat each other half to death when they get the chance.

They don't get along very well in a lot of my AUs lmaooo. Some are different, but I think the rivalry is fun!

ANYWAY

The way I see it, if you want to up your chances at surviving a Mr. Plant encounter, catch him off guard. Which might be hard, but Thorn is nothing if not a sneaky schemer.

I can still see Thorn getting knocked down a few pegs when it comes to Mr. Plant attacks, but Thorn can hit pretty hard too in a lot of cases and he's got plenty of horrid tricks up his sleeve if need be.

The definition of "playing fair" to Thorn may shift every so often for him.

But again, silly crazy AU's aside, all Thorn would amount to in a "normal setting" is a mouthy, fire loving, pesky business-type and business men haven't had a lot of success surviving Mr. Plant as we've seen. 🥴

But I can assure you, he'd go out with a shit eating grin on his face and a cigarette in his mouth in a lot of cases.

Oof. The thing about my Mr. Flower is, he doesn't deal with things super well I feel like.

He's a "bottle things up until they boil over" kind of guy, but the emotional overloads happen behind closed doors so nobody ever knows if or when he's going thru something.

Which is how he prefers it.

I do think he throws himself into more work to keep himself distracted.

Picks up more shifts and more jobs overall until he's almost more busy than even Argos lol.

Then he just comes home let's it all out if need be and sleeps it off.

Assuming he can sleep.

May or may not rely on sleeping pills during especially rough times.

What I think is funny about Mr. Flower is while he may not deal with his own problems in the healthiest ways, he'll most certainly scold those he considers friends for being careless with themselves.

Tell them they should change their habits before bed, what things to eat/drink/do to help with stress management and to sleep better. Etc. Etc.

I don't think he realizes the hypocrisy in it tho lmao.

What a fun question 👀 and I'm gonna use it to blab a little.

Thorn has a mother, but he doesn't consider her to be anything of the sort.

So he definitely wouldn't feel the need to keep her updated on the things happening in his life.

In fact Thorn would much prefer she knew nothing at all about anything he was up to.

Their relationship has always been difficult at best.

If she ever did find out about Thorn's involvement with Mr. Flower, I'm sure she'd have a lot of thoughts about it.

If she had anything negative to say tho, it would have everything to do with their respective backgrounds over anything else.

And if she felt any approval over the union, it probably wouldn't be a good thing still.

I think for Mr. Flower's safety especially, Thorn has opted to take extra precautions to keep his mother as distant as possible until the time is right.

But there is one person who Thorn would have been absolutely delighted to introduce to Mr. Flower!

And I think she would be just as delighted to meet Mr. Flower as Thorn is have her meet him.

But like a lot of people from Thorn's past, he's decided it's best to keep minimal to no contact with her unfortunately. But he checks in on her as often as he can, even if she isn't always aware.

Anything stronger or sweeter tends to be too much for me and i start to feel a little queasy. --- I don't think i've ever received flowers before. Maybe once or twice as a kid from some kind of school event?

hm ok, gonna ask what Angst in the Sound Booth is (although I am also very intrigued by a lot of them 👀)

Honestly i would yap about any and all of them ; v; But yes! One of the first ever Thorn x Mr Flower fics I was ever inspired to try to write tbh.

It was based on some ship art I started November of last year that I never finished.

I don't think Sound booth is the right term to use here, but that's what I hastily tossed out at the time. 🥴

Summary:

Thorn invites Mr. Flower to a show at his venue, promising him a private view and a much needed distraction from the recent drama in Mr. Flower's life.

What Thorn neglects to mention is part of that drama is employed under him, and it brought it's other half.

Now Mr. Flower continues to watch and anxiously wonder how he can remain a relevant part of an old friend's life.

Or if he even wants to be. Thorn is more than happy to help him figure it out.

Part of the fic so far:

What in the world was Mr. Plant even doing at a place like this? Loud noises, dense crowds, dreadfully high energy. This was absolutely not the kind of place Mr. Plant would have chosen to be of his own volition, yet here he was. With Argos.

When Mr. Flower hadn’t seen or heard from Mr. Plant in almost two weeks.

There was a tightening in Mr. Flower’s chest.

He sighed, the bitterness in his stomach turning to anxious nausea as he tried to shake off the thoughts.

He didn’t like the idea of getting worked up over it, but worked up he was. Even as he turned his gaze and did his best to focus on the band instead.

He had hardly noticed when someone else had entered the private observation booth. Mr. Flower was still gnawing at his lip when the smell of cigarette smoke began to fill the air, still fighting back the welling emotion he had been trying so hard to ignore for days now.

And when a  warm and gentle hand found its way around Mr. Flower's waist suddenly, the floral creature stiffened. 

A light gasp left his lips as the towering presence of a rose headed man at Mr. Flower's side broke the creature from his thoughts.

He looked up to meet the familiar man's gaze and was greeted by a sharp, toothy grin holding a lit cigarette. 

Wild, spiral eyes stared back at Mr. Flower while the hand around his waist made itself comfortable.

The rose monster inhaled from his cigarette and with his free hand, withdrew it from his mouth billowing smoke poured from the sides of his mouth.

“Enjoying the show?” He asked, giving Mr. Flower a light, playful squeeze. An action that tinted Mr. Flower's cheeks a light shade of pink while simultaneously churning out a small grunt and a slight frown from the flustered flower.

“Thorn…” Mr. Flower grumbled the man's name, as if to give warning but said nothing further.

Thorn chuckled, readjusting his hand to let it rest on Mr. Flower's shoulder instead, indicating he took the hint.

Mr. Flower rarely outright protested Thorn's lack of personal space regardless of the fact that he played up a convincing amount of distaste for it. 

But it was never long before Mr. Flower began to relax under Thorn’s casual touches.

even i- his creator, have had trouble consistently with his dumb fucking head shape.

I have so many rose references saved and for so long i haven't been able to find and easy and consistent way to draw him.

Recently, like in the last week and a half though, i think i found a method that works for me. and it only took a year. 😭
