it sucks and kinda hurts to not be able to effectively express the feeling of wanting a partner or relationship when you want it just for the experience of true companionship and affection. Because that kinda behavior is mostly associated with romantic relationships, even when your culture is naturally affectionate. But yea, it's hard. Especially when you've grown up being perceived as intimidating, or quiet, or serious, so even your friendships have a certain degree of separation that everyone abides to. Especially when you get unnecessarily emotional about it when it comes up in conversation, even though it's rare for it to happen. Sometimes you just want to be held, but you don't feel like you can ask, even if your friends are willing.
