not to be such a millennial and write a whole ass text post but today’s race made me genuinely so emotional. over the past few months I’ve been trying to get some joy from things like “yay little guy top 10” and “nice sprint for 3rd” and “at least breakaway points for my velogames” and I managed to make myself believe I care for those things, to the point where I forgot the feeling… of someone daring to race for the win even though all seems lost, of believing a different result would be possible (the excitement that comes from uncertainty!), and of someone actually beating the big undisputed favorite. I think I fell in love with cycling a little more again today

FYC’s Fantasy 2014 TDF

Yes, we're doing it again! Aren't you all excited? Last year we had a total of 76 teams (final standings) and this is our third year. As in 2012 and 2013, we don't have any prizes or anything, it's just bragging rights as FYC champion. 

For those of you who are new, this next part's for you, the rest can skip down to the mini league info. First, head over to Velogames, create an account (if you don't have one) and then create your TDF team! You have until 12:00 CEST on Saturday 5th July to create and manage your team. 

Once you have a team, you can join our league (head to the visit team page, that's also where you can edit your team). The number for our league (called FYC at the TDF) is 26200031.

We'll post a couple of reminders and throughout the tour, we'll update you on the standings. If you have any questions, please let us know. And, as always, you can use the comments to discuss your teams or anything else TDF related.

I’ve quietly gotten into the habit of entering a team into Velogames’ Fantasy Cycling team for the grand tours with varying levels of success. It’s pretty easy to set up a team and fortunately there’s no trading once the race has started minimising the amount of involvement (less time trading, more time riding).
