Good day my lovelies. Today It’s review time again and I’m sharing one of the makeup goodies I got for my birthday. The Urban Decay Nocturnal Shadow Box. After the launch of the Naked Heat palette we popped over to the Foschini store in Eastgate mall. They didn’t have it in stock yet and as you all know us makeup lovers cannot keep our fingers out of samples. Ilona and myself ended up swatching the palettes on display and I totally lost my heart on this gorgeous palette.
About The Nocturnal Shadow Box
The Nocturnal Shadow box includes all the Urban Decay cult favourite eyeshadows in one place. Eight must-have shades from our their collection, plus four exclusives from past sets. They equipped the palette with a full-size mirror and a double-ended brush. The Blending Brush is ideal for foolproof, seamless blending. Use the Smudger Brush to smudge color with precision or smoke out the lash line.
Packaging
The Nocturnal Eyeshadow Box is a sturdy cardboard palette with a magnet in the lid to keep the box shut. The print reminds me of a brick wall at night and is very well suited. The Urban Decay Logo and shadow name is embossed in purple and makes me think of a neon light. The larger mirror in the lid comes in really handy and I love the inscription on it: Beauty with an Edge.
The Formula & Application
Just as with my Naked 3 Palette this one’s formula doesn’t disappoint. The shades are buttery and soft and glides on. They blend really well and together with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer has the power to last all day. I find it easy to apply the shades with the dual ended brush included in the palette and I’ve tried multiple looks. I did however find that some of the shades have a bit more fall-out. ABC Gum and Amor were two of these shades.

Do you need the Urban Decay Shadow Box?
If you don’t have many palettes and shades from Urban Decay or you are new to the brand this is the palette I recommend. It filled with a very nice collection of their favourite shades and at R650 the price point is more affordable than the larger palettes.
