Village lady at a classic roof-tiled bridge

The Tile Roofed village bridge are important for the locals. And popular among the visitors.

It is a meeting and hang out point, an architectural marvel and a place for worship. An altar is at the centerpoint for prayers and memorial of the lady said to drive the building.

Start of the imperial era

It was built in 1776 during the time the city of Huê was about to become the imperial capital of the united Empire of Viet Nam.

Thanh Toan Tile Roofed bridge is said to be an early example of what would become the typical imperial architecture of the Nguyen era.

There are several means of getting to the village. We biked there from Huê central, a not to challenging ride through a beautiful landscape well worth the ride.

Dating under a handy gold bridge

There is something forever sweet about the getting to know each other-phase of dating.

And maybe there will be an offering of a golden ring by the end if the courting succeds?

Coming out of the fog over this cute couple is the landmark Golden Hands Bridge in Ba Na Hills near Da Nang. They are sitting in the picturesque (sic, pun intended) Suoi Mo Garden near the Linh Ung Pagoda. The garden is an interconnected series of french inspired garden greenery with running water, fountains and sculptures.

Families and instagrammers beware

Heavy photography is going on here, selfies and other loved ones get caught in photos, posing with splendid backdrops. Be patient and considerate for that sought after shot. Including one with gold in the sky.

The trip from Da Nang takes about an hour by car.
