I think we can agree that 92 was a brilliant year for music.

A real highlight for me was Let Me Come Over by Buffalo Tom. One of those few albums in my collection that I will never get tired of.

It was also the year I fell for Nine Inch Nails, mainly to help me with a bad break-up!

I saw PJ Harvey at Reading Festival, Three And A Half Minutes supported Ned's Atomic Dustbin on the Are you Normal tour in Cambridge and Leave Them All Behind by RIDE solidified my complete hero worship of Loz Colbert.

Some obsure records too, Boing! by Airhead - a joyful, indie-pop treasure trove of songs, and Eleven Eleven by Come, a bleak, bluesy and dark album that would accompany us as we drove through the night from gig to gig.

Homegrown is the 40th studio album by Neil Young released June 19, 2020. The album consists of material recorded between June 1974 and January 1975. * * * * * * The album was recorded after the release of On the Beach and before the sessions for Zuma. Like those two albums, much of the material was inspired by Young's relationship with actress Carrie Snodgress, which was deteriorating in 1974. The album was compiled and prepared for release in 1975. Instead, Tonight's the Night was released in its place, and Homegrown remained unreleased for decades. It was finally set for release on Record Store Day, amid Neil Young's Archives campaign. Record Store Day's date was changed due to the coronavirus pandemic and so Homegrown finally came out on its own on June 19. * * * * Young has said that "Homegrown is the missing link between Harvest, Comes a Time, Old Ways and Harvest Moon." The songs are quite personal, and reveal much of his feelings on his failing relationship Carrie Snodgress. "It was a little too personal... it scared me" Young would later explain. * * * * There isn’t much that needs to be said about this record. It’s brilliant and is Young at his best. If you like Young you’ll love Harvest. 🌙 Moondance is the third studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison. It was released on 27 January 1970 by Warner Bros. Records. * * * * * Morrison began writing songs for Moondance in July 1969.Because of his first album, “Astral Weeks's” poor sales figures, the singer wanted to produce a record that would be more accessible and appealing to listeners. "I make albums primarily to sell them and if I get too far out a lot of people can't relate to it", he later said. "I had to forget about the artistic thing because it didn't make sense on a practical level. One has to live." * * * * In the years following the original release, Moondance was frequently ranked as one of the greatest albums ever. According to Acclaimed Music, it is the 102nd most prominently ranked record on critics' all-time lists. Nick Butler from Sputnikmusic considered Moondance to be the peak of Morrison's career and "maybe of non-American soul in general", while Spin deemed it "the great white soul album" in an essay accompanying the magazine's 1989 list of the all-time 25 greatest albums, on which Moondance was ranked 21st.
