Shoppable Content: Turning Browsers into Buyers Instantly
Shoppable content is a powerful tool for e-commerce businesses, transforming passive browsing into active purchasing. By integrating shopping features directly into your digital marketing content, you can streamline the customer journey and boost conversion rates. Here’s how to create effective shoppable content:
1. Understanding Shoppable Content
Shoppable content includes any digital media—articles, videos, social posts, or images—that allows consumers to purchase products directly from the content itself. This seamless integration reduces friction in the buying process.
2. Creating Engaging Visuals
High-quality visuals are key to shoppable content. Use compelling images and videos that highlight your products in real-life scenarios. Interactive features, such as 360-degree views or virtual try-ons, can enhance the shopping experience.
3. Utilizing Social Media Platforms
Platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok offer built-in shoppable features. Leverage these tools to tag products in your posts and stories, making it easy for users to shop directly from their feeds.
4. Integrating Shoppable Elements into Your Website
Incorporate shoppable content into your website’s blog posts, lookbooks, and product pages. Use clear call-to-action buttons that guide users to purchase without leaving the content.
5. Collaborating with Influencers
Partner with influencers to create shoppable content. Influencers can showcase your products to their followers, providing authentic recommendations and driving traffic to your site.
6. Measuring and Optimizing
Track the performance of your shoppable content using analytics. Measure metrics like click-through rates, conversion rates, and time spent on content to identify what works best and optimize your strategy accordingly.
By integrating shoppable content into your digital marketing, you can enhance the shopping experience, reduce friction, and turn browsers into buyers more efficiently.

Marxent Showcasing VR Product Strategies at NRF 2017
Marxent, a specialist in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) for products and spaces using its VisualCommerce platform will be attending the National Retail Federation (NRF)’s BIG Show 2017. As part of the event, Marxent will be debuting two applications designed for brick-and-mortar retail environments, a VR Showroom shopping app and a 360-degree Touch Screen Showroom app.
Those attending the event will be able to don a HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD) to test drive the in-store VisualCommerce VR Showroom shopping app designed around a major retail furniture installation. Marxent’s NRF exhibit looks at methods for using 3D products to aid shopping experiences, trying to make them more convenient whilst enabling customers to make those all important decisions faster.
“Retailers are motivated to prioritize the retail customer experience and use these emerging technologies to make shopping more exciting and convenient,” said Beck Besecker, CEO and co-founder of Marxent. “There has always been friction between brick-and-mortar and digital. Our 3D product solutions for mixed commerce seamlessly blend the best of each at every point in the customer’s journey to increase customer satisfaction and exceed the expectations of modern shoppers no matter how, when or where they want to shop.”
“The ability to personalize virtual products and experience them in the immersive 3D environments will be an extremely powerful tool for retailers,” said Ted Brodheim, VP Vertical Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are excited to partner with Marxent to unveil the interactive virtual showroom at NRF this year.”
“NRF’s Big Show is designed to help retailers learn about the latest innovations in retail. If you’re at NRF this year and you want to see what the future looks like, this is what it looks like. AR and VR, along with evolved 3D product strategies, have arrived for retail and you’ll be one of the first to experience it first hand,” adds Besecker.
Last year Marxent won Gold in the “Cameras & Virtual Reality” category at the annual 2016 Edison Awards for VisualCommerce. For further updates from Marxent, keep reading VRFocus.
