Saudagar was directed by Subhash Ghai and featured two legendary actors of Hindi cinema, Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar, in the lead roles. This was the second time the two actors shared the screen, the first being in the 1959 film Paigham.

The film also marked the debut of Vivek Mushran and Manisha Koirala. It included notable performances by Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Gulshan Grover, Dina Pathak, Mukesh Khanna, Deepti Naval, Govind Namdev and Jackie Shroff. The music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi.

‘Saaye Mein Dhoop' by Dushyant Kumar :- 'Saye Mein Dhoop' is the type of poetry collection that can make people experience different emotions at the same time.
