April 19th: Do you enjoy music, or do you find it overstimulating? If you do like music, what kind of music do you prefer?
The only way for music to be overstimulating to me is if I'm in the car and the music is suddenly turned on and it's blasting loud. Other than that, I don't find music overstimulating. Literally other than that, I love music! First off, I'm not musically talented in the slightest (I guess I can sing a bit, I was in choir in middle school, but I can only do lower notes).
Welp, this question is going to be a fun ride because I have a lot of different tastes in music. Let's see, for one, I love more Halloween-ish, creepy music that I guess stems from my love of all things creepy.
Let's see, a few bands and artists that I love and enjoy are: Creature Feature, Rufus Rex, Voltaire, Rusty Cage, Skillet, Three Days Grace, and the music by the YouTuber Madame Macabre (who composes songs about online horror and creepypastas with her own original music)
On to music that's not in the creepy category, I also like random songs from other artists and bands too like: Maroon 5, Selena Gomez and Katy Perry, Gym Class Heroes. So I do like a bit of other music, however if I'm going to be honest, I don't really listen to today's music so to speak, as I have a tendency to listen to music that I grew up with.
For example, I sometimes listen to random songs from maybe Disney Channel original movies, like from Lemonade Mouth, or Let it Shine. (If I'm going to be honest, as of right now, I've been listening to the soundtrack of Let it Shine, the beats are lit alright? Also the song "You Belong to Me" is the best song in the movie, change my mind)
Because I watch cartoons, I can sometimes listen to music that are made from cartoons such as MLP songs, Spongebob songs, a few Barbie songs, (like from the Diamond Castle one or others) and just any songs that catch my attention from shows I either watched as a kid, atill watch, or songs from currently running cartoons.
Basically I like music that is either
Creepy
From a cartoon or movie
Has a more underlying message within it
Not the trash that's out today about explicit stuff
The part of music having an underlying message pretty much stems from me watching the movie I mentioned before, Let it Shine, as it's pretty much about music saying something more than regular words.
Oh and of course I listen to Disney music both villains and heroes (but mostly villains)
My favorites are "Friends on the Other Side", "Mother Knows Best" both versions, and "Be Prepared".
Last but no least, I also like a few musicals like Hamilton, Beetlejuice, Jekyll and Hyde, and "Candy Store" from Heathers and "Sincerely Me" from Dear Evan Hansen.
So yeah, my taste in music is mostly creepy, but I have other tastes as well depending on my mood and what I want to listen to at the moment. So yeah, I didn't name myself The Random Witch for nothing.
