Reading trans theory as a trans masc person is frustrating. There is so rarely mention of trans men or trans masc people. There are so few trans men/mascs who have broken through the barrier to be publishing trans theory. So the majority of the mentions of trans men/mascs is done by people who are not in fact trans men or trans masc. I've seen more papers or books written by cis women talking about trans men than I have actual trans men talking about ourselves. Which, of course, means trans men/mascs are mischaracterized, misunderstood, or unnecessarily lumped in with either cis men or butch lesbians- depending on which furthers the authors point more easily. Writers who are trans femme generally do a better job of including trans mascs in their writing. But sometimes even a trans femme writer will get things wrong because she isn't trans masc. And since there are so few trans masc writers, it's not even like there is a lot of correct information to be cited. So then anyone who writes about trans mascs and gets it wrong is now creating misinformation that can be cited by future writers, thus creating a cycle of inaccurate information about trans mascs and our experiences.

Having experienced a lot of it in my 20s, I think some of the worst, pettiest, most straight up this-is-just-bullying-you're-passing-off-as-praxis incidences of Queer Infighting endemic to young people can be best understood as attempts to exercise power by people with very little power.
Like you're 22, you're queer, you've just become a Marxist, the scope of World Suck is overwhelming and you have $30 in your bank account. What can you do to feel like you have any power? Well, you can try to get your frenemy cancelled for cosplaying a character from a problematic show. You can write a public callout post over someone's obviously friendly use of a slur you don't think they technically have the right to reclaim. Doing this stuff can make you feel like you have power and your actions have an impact. Unfortunately the impact in question is a negative impact on other marginalized people. But that often takes some maturity and self-reflection to notice.

Kinda horrified at all the people talking about using scratched up non-stick pans and not realising that Teflon and other coatings are so very carcinogenic. PFAS (carcinogenic forever chemicals) build up in your body like lead or mercury.

^ Don't fucking use this ^

I need young people and the older ones too apparently, to invest in at least one good thick based stainless steel pan. It's better for cooking and it won't give you cancer.
Stainless steel pan? You can scrub that shit with a steel scourer... If stuff won't come off? You can soak it in a laundry active oxygen cleaner for an hour or two and it will come right off, then rinse with clean water and you're golden. You want to whisk your eggs in the pan? Literally no downside, but in a non-stick pan you get CANCER flakes.

My ethics professor once told our class that society justifies hating fat people by saying they overburden the healthcare system but no one uses that excuse to hate high level athletes who also disproportionately use the healthcare system

Always remember queer people live in SWANA queer people exsist in the middle east unapologetically everyday despite what your propaganda machine tells you, there are Arab queers and muslim queers from every country you can name from the region, yes even those countries get over your racist bias right now if you want to help us live.
Never forget this when you see people justifying the bombing and needles slaughter of the region under the banner of "they dont allow LGBTQIA people there" the laws dont sure but we the people exsist despite of it and will always be here.
Never forget this

there's a post where someone said "can you respect trans women who look like men" and someone responded something like "hell yeah I love people who fuck with gender!" and like... yeah that's cool, but in a lot of spaces "trans woman who looks like a man" is a lot less likely to be someone who is intentionally comfortably presenting masculine, and a lot more likely to be a girl who hasn't started transition, or can't safely, or just didn't or couldn't put in the effort to pass as fem today, and a lot of them will just look like schlubby dudes and not a radically presenting queer person. and you should be able to respect that.

Unfortunately we won’t be getting much of anywhere with speaking about trans men and mascs’ oppression until people are willing to look at the trans man as an intersectional identity. Which will require people to actually understand intersectionality as more than “two marginalizations coming together.” And I feel we’re only getting further away from those things.
