A while later, they were cuddled on the couch again, trying to find something to watch. To Feyre's immense relief, Tamlin had finally finished that godawful music show, and he'd agreed to try and find something they both liked. She'd tried not to think about how much wheedling it took to get him to compromise. Tamlin flicked through the menu—by now, Feyre knew better than to ask for the remote—and let out a groan at the sight of Rhysand Knight smiling over a black mug in one of the thumbnails. "The Food Network gave that asshole his own show?" "It's really good," Feyre said. She'd already watched a few episodes when she'd had the house to herself on a few nights when Tamlin worked late. "Of course you'd say that. That's the sort of garbage you'd be into," Tamlin said, clicking on some nature documentary without asking her if she was interested. She wasn't. Feyre ended up falling asleep halfway through, trying to ignore just how small Tamlin had just made her feel.

When Tamlin frowned at her latte art, Feyre should have known the relationship was doomed. But over the course of a few weeks, he'd smiled at her over his daily matcha latte—a green drink to match his gorgeous eyes. Once, he'd even blushed and stammered out a compliment about her hair looking clean.

So one off day really shouldn't have interfered with her plans to write her phone number on his cup. Besides, at least the ginger friend he'd ordered the coffee for had appreciated the autumn leaf she'd drawn in the foam.

And once she'd finally worked up the nerve, Tamlin had asked her out almost immediately. A whirlwind beginning to a whirlwind courtship.

In the haze of the honeymoon phase, Feyre nearly forgot about the disgusted face he'd pulled when she'd slid the drink over to him.
