In this era of outrage addicts so desperate to feel connected they’d fix off Snow White to feed their social media monkey, two lines in this scene from THE WARRIORS would be misconstrued in such a fix feeding frenzy, why I bet they’d even deem “chickenshit” derogatory to poultry. The term “japped” is used in its term rooted in WWll & Korea where it was coined, some might say, as a phrase of honor fear bestowed upon the way US Troops were finding themselves dead or worse from the stealthy sneak attacks and traps used by Japanese soldiers in the jungle. Getting “japped”doesnt require anyone to actually be Asian, just dangerously crafty at killing. As for the “We’re acting like faggots”’line, you’d have to have grown up in this era to understand the way “faggot” and “fag”’and even “gay”’were used by males to goof on fellow friends for acting/being more or less a wimp (another of Ajax’s - played to tough guy perfection by #jamesremar - favorite putdowns). He’s not saying they’re acting homosexual, but rather being less than the Warriors their colors claim them to be. Make sense?
