WARWICK - American Dynasty I

This collection is inspired by the fashion of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Carolyn married JFK Jr. in 1996 and instantly turned heads with her polished fashion sense. During her time in the spotlight, Carolyn favoured an effortless minimalism now synonymous with nineties fashion. She is still considered a major fashion muse over twenty years after her untimely death in 1999, having influenced the style of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Rosamund Pike, who channelled Bassette-Kennedy in her portrayal of Gone Girl's Amy Dunne.

WARWICK - Mrs. Kennedy Wedding Gown

For Black History Month, I wanted to attempt a gown from one of my favourite African American designers. Ann Lowe was born in Clayton, Alabama in 1898. Ann, who came from a family of seamstresses, had a passion for fashion and dress-making. She would eventually go on to open a dressmaking business which was frequented by many in high society. One of these partons was Janet Lee Auchincloss, who commissioned Ann to design the wedding dress of her daughter, Jacqueline. Jacqueline Bouvier's silk taffeta wedding dress is one of the twentieth century's most recognizable pieces of wedding fashion.

Despite designing gowns for the upper class, Ann was underpaid and neglected throughout her career. I hope to make more of her gowns because she was a talented dressmaker who deserves her flowers.

DYNASTY DI — TRAVOLTA DRESS

This is the first of my CC inspired by the ultimate rebel princess: Diana, Princess of Wales. Diana first wore the iconic Travolta dress at a White House gala in November 1985, where she famously danced with the gown's namesake, John Travolta. The off-the-shoulder midnight blue evening gown was designed by Victor Edelstein and was inspired by the fashion of the Edwardian Era.

Despite releasing 70 years ago, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes remains an iconic staple of Golden Age Hollywood. Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell delivered timeless, hilarious performances that were empathized by William Travilla's exquisite costuming. Monroe's shocking pink dress has had a huge impact on popular culture, having been referenced by Madonna, Megan Thee Stallion, Normani, and Kylie Jenner. I hope you enjoy it!

Dior has always been one of my absolute favourite fashion houses and it's collaborated with some of my favourite fashion inspirations, including Beatrice Borromeo, the stylish daughter-in-law of Grace Kelly. Beatrice is an Italian journalist and has been an ambassador for Dior since 2021. I recently loved two gowns she's worn at two high-profile outings with other members of the Monaco Princely family; they gave me gothic vibes and I decided they'd be perfect for Halloween.
