Protect brown girls and their reproductive rights
Today is a bleak day in the US. I’m mourning. I’m angry and scared for every girl, woman, and sexually active American, particularly those of color, who now have to struggle even harder to exercise their own damn rights to have control over their own damn body.
And today more than ever, I am hurting for my brown sisters whose parents don’t believe in talking about sexual health and reproductive wellness. I am hurting for my brown sisters who are unable to gain access to contraception, and now have no recourse available should the unthinkable happen. I am hurting for my brown sisters who are living in states that don’t see them as human, states that do not believe they have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness on their own fucking terms.
If you live in a state where abortion is now, or will soon be, illegal, take some time to acquaint yourself with: ineedana.com; plancpills.org; Aid Access; the Brigid Alliance.
If you are not yet independent or don’t have the financial means to access contraceptives, Planned Parenthood can work with you to get access to contraceptives and low or no cost. Planned Parenthood can also help you avoid using your parents’ insurance to receive health care.
If you have the means, please consider donating to organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the National Network of Abortion Funds, the Brigid Alliance, or your local nonprofits working to expand access to reproductive healthcare.
If you are old enough, vote. Vote in your local elections. Vote in November. Vote out the monstrous assholes who have no qualms with stripping away your civil rights. If it’s safe for you to do so, consider visiting 5calls.org and using their script to demand your representatives codify abortion rights. Keep an eye out for marches, demonstrations, and protests in your area. Reach out to your fellow women to provide and receive support.
If nothing else, know that I am here for you, and your feelings in this moment and in the coming days are valid. This fucking blows. But there is a way forward, and there is work to be done. So let’s get it fucking done.

I absolutely love the Narumitsu love is war au you talked a/! My question is why is Phoenix playing into the whole trying to force Edgeworth to confess? In the original manga, the two main characters are doing it in part bc they have a lot of pride lol, and while I do think Edgeworth would lean into that a little, I don’t see that specific motivation for Phoenix. He kind of seems like the kind of guy to either say his feelings outright or completely bury them lol. Thoughts?
Oooh this is a good question, Anon! I'll admit that I didn't think much about this until now, but I like how you think. I definitely agree that Phoenix is, generally, more open about his feelings than Miles, but your question got me thinking. I think I re-wrote this like five times because I kept having ideas. In the end, I kind of have two answers for you: The "Well this is meant to be lighthearted" one and the "Everyone hop on the angst train" one.
The short answer is that, while they're a lot less at each other's throats outside the courtroom, Phoenix and Miles are SUPER competitive when arguing legal cases - that's the main point of the games. So since the main point of Kaguya-Sama is the confession mindgames, it makes sense to just kinda mirror that over here - they just kinda egg each other on. It works well with the mutual pining troupe, which I both really like for narumitsu and find hilarious here because with the whole "evidence is everything" mindset, they're both just trying to literally prove that the other is pining.
The long answer is that, while I think not every case is mirrored over as an actual legal case (I'm going to make a separate post with just like, my exposition brainrot for this AU), I do think that Phoenix and Miles were still childhood friends and that DL-6 still happened in some form. So you could also take the route of Phoenix starting out with "I like Miles, but I don't want to burden him if he doesn't like me back. I'll see if he asks me first". It might start as some tactful pressing for information on Phoenix's part, when Miles starts dropping hints, then upping in ante until we get to those wild debates. This is a kinda funny transition, since Kaguya-Sama gets super ridiculous sometimes. It's Kaguya-Sama, after all; it's always gonna be a little bit silly. Maybe Phoenix does end up kind of playing along as he becomes more sure Miles actually likes him. Maybe it's that, but he still wants Miles to be the one to say it first, as that anxiety about being wrong is still there. Maybe there's a better idea I'm just not seeing.
This got kind of long-winded, but I hope that there's some semblance of the answer you were looking for in here!
