It was a normal day on the drop ship and Lifeline, Bangalore, Gibraltar, Octane, Mirage and Wattson where sitting and playing a card game, Newcastle and Wraith were watching listening to Mirage brag about how good he was. Of course Octane had to one up him at this point they where the only ones playing. You where laying down in the same room tired from the last match but the sound of Elliott and Octavio stopped you from sleeping. Though the Nessie Wattson gave you helped and Ajay’s light drumming on D.O.C. was also calming but it couldn’t distract from the eyes on you. Revenant, just in the corner watching not threatening just observing. You were always interested in the simulacrum and you knew he was somewhat nice to you well as nice as he could be, he tried his best.

“Ya sure you don’t want to join us?” Ajay stopped tapping D.O.C. to ask. “I bet you could get Mirage you shut up.” Wraith added with a smirk earning a look from Eliott. “They look tired let’s leave them alone.” Natalie said making everyone go back to what they were doing. A loud laugh came from Octane as he won the match. “Sorry amigo looks like I win again!” Elliot wasn’t even paying attention to him. “Well maybe if that murder bot wasn’t standing so menacingly I would have played better.” Renee rolled her eyes. “Come on brudda no need to watch join us.” They all looked over to Revenant he just let out a grunt and left. “Typical.” Anita and Renee said in unison turning back to the game, you wondered where he was going looking over the couch you were on. He went into his room unable to see him you lay back down, closing your eyes finally falling asleep.

Waking up noticing your alone at least you thought but you have a blanket it was soft. One of Revenant’s you smile looking around for anyone. “Finally, you where out for a while.” A familiar robot voice filled the room looking over there he was. Starting to walk over to you he just looked at you so you spoke. “Were you just watching me? Oh and thanks for the blanket you could have just carried me to bed.” You giggled while getting up, he let out a grunt as a response. “You can walk yourself can’t you?” Collecting all your things you head back to your room with Revenant. He usually stands in the doorway just watching you sleep making sure your safe, but today he got into bed with you. As you got comfortable laying against him just listening to his robotic parts work. It was times like this that he wished he was human but he would never admit it. “I brought you some water so you don’t have to get up.” Looking over at the table there was indeed water, small thing like this is what made you happy. Sure he wasn’t great at showing love but he did it in his own way. You give him a small thanks before taking a sip of the water. Putting it back down on the table. You wanted to see if this time he would actually sleep or if he would just watch you like always.

He has a rest mode but he never used it he didn’t like to sleep, he didn’t need to so why use it? He didn’t trust anyone enough to use it in the first place. You knew he would use it in due time, when he was ready. “Well I’m going to go to sleep feel free to move me if you want to leave.” You giggle knowing he will stay there all night. As you rest your head on his chest you hear the parts start to slow down, getting more calm the faint glow from his eyes light the room. You tiredly say you love him and you start to doze off. Smiling when he says it back, playing with your hair just a little, things he would only do in private. You wake up to the sound of Octane and Mirage again knowing you won’t be able to fall back asleep you get up. But not before noticing Revenant, asleep well in resting mode it brought a smile to your face, he is comfortable enough to do this. You lay back down and cuddle him whispering sweet nothings to him. Holding his hand and rubbing it, he often picked at the paint on his hands hating Hammond Robotics for making him this killing machine. Of course you understand this hatred he had, but remind him to be nice to himself.

His LED eyes start to light back up, gears inside him start up again. “Morning, did you rest well?” You ask as he starts back up. “I guess it’s not like it does me any use.” He sits up and watches you get ready. “Well I’m just happy your comfortable with me to do that I know it’s hard for you.” It was, he’s trying for you but it’s still hard for him to show it. “Small steps at a time.” You add all he said was a soft yeah. As you where about to leave the room he stopped you. “Thank you, for making me feel human.” He hugged you it was unusual for him to do this but you let him. “I try my best, honestly forget your not sometimes.” With a soft giggle you let go of him and smile. If he could he would be too, you place a soft kiss where his lips would be and leave.

You were greeted by Bangalore and Gibraltar they were talking about the schedule. “Bonjour, did you sleep well I hope we didn’t wake you?” Natalie asked while she watched Ajay work on D.O.C. “Not at all Wattson, so what’s the plan for today?” Looking over at Anita. She took a sip of coffee as she explained everything. She soon left to grab some more coffee and Ajay’s light tapping with her shock sticks could be heard as you felt eyes on you. Revenant walked over to you sitting next to you, he put his arm around you. But quickly moved it as Bangalore walked back in. He didn’t pull away when you grabbed his hand rubbing where the Hammond Robotics logo was. Small steps you say to your self. After a few minutes of sitting with each other the announcement for the next match could be heard. Letting go of his hand getting ready he stops you, and puts a light kiss on your hand before going to his spot. The progress might be slow he might not even get past this stage but you didn’t mind. You would always love him no matter what and you knew he felt the same. Smiling while looking at him you start to drop. He looked at you as you both got ready to jump sharing a look before everyone jumped. Sure you loved him but this is a blood sport and you didn't come to lose. Giving him one last look knowing it will be over soon and you can go back to holding him. And with that let the games begin.

Talking about this season so far:

Apex apparently is letting us earn this first battle pass for free, I think the Premium+ bs is just 2 skins and some of their green bs currency. At the moment I'm not looking to support this change, but I've found myself liking the Revive mode, I actually might prefer it to normal Apex? TDM is too much of a meat grinder, and normal Apex is too based on chance, and too sweaty in modern days to meaningfully get anything out of it.

Keeping the characters and guns and just adding Fortnite Reload on top of it, has definitely made people more confident of pushing, and allows a quick escape, while having your respawns go up or down based on how much you're actually fighting really makes this mode pop for me. I think this mode is a nice middle ground and I think I prefer it to both Fortnite Reload and 3 strikes. I like battle royale but there's too many people who are either too good at Apex, or not good enough and the gulf becomes apparent really quick. After you play for a long time all you want is the rush of fighting, and Apex is so unforgiving in it's player base and meta that it's hard to find a way that encourages you to push in, while also giving you a second chance if you fuck up. I think Revive is fantastic.

The new map is...okay. There's a very heavy emphasis on "you land in one of these 6 locations, or you're not finding shit for loot." Which is great it pushes everyone together. I like that there's a lot of care and thought into making Controller Legends have a comeback. I've been having so much fun as wattson, this map feels like it's specifically designed to allow controllers to fence, and fortify, and trap as need be. There's lots of opportunities to fence zip lines, or spike doors, or gas bag buildings. There's a few things I wish teams would stop doing.

First don't push in while the other person is respawning. I'll get into like an out of sync cycle with my team, where two of us are respawning, while one of us is dying. Someone keeps pushing as soon as they come back, and they get downed while we're in the air coming back. Or Two team mates will keep pushing while I'm in the air and by the time I hit the ground, they're downed again. It's like: If I die, we're dead, so I can't fucking do anything but they saw me drop, and they kill me as you're falling, but then you push immediately so by the time I'm respawning you're hurt and bleeding out and I can't fucking come push the whole team by myself. Like it's stupid. If half your team is respawning regroup before pushing a fight again. Also learn when a team is just better equipped than you. Like we'll get our asses kicked 5 times in a row, and these nuts will rush the exact same building. Like they think "THIS time we'll totally get them." Like no, land somewhere else grab something, and maybe fight them later in the ring. Maybe they're just holding that building too well, maybe you're fighting with stuff your team isn't as skilled with. Like give yourself a chance to backout.

There's a nasty habit of just getting stuck with crap guns. Because there's no downtime between fights, so you can't just look through a box. You're kind of grabbing shit without looking. And there's a really bad habbit of just not being able to switch to something you're more comfortable with, so you can get stuck with a weapon a whole round and just not have the juice you need for your specific mojo. (this is why I said maybe they're just better equiped in the last paragraph) like we won't have cells, or heals, we do get ammo when we respawn, I think keeping everything on respawn is a great decision. Keeps the game flowing. Dying hurts because it resets your tac and Ult. That's a good punishment to have, it also sucks ass if you're like, a Loba and want to shop.

I dunno between being absolutely burned out on everything else and the promise of working toward a new Loba skin, I think they got me, but I'm still not buying their 20 dollars of battle pass.

But also like...

They're adding Gwenpool to Fortnite in 11 days and I absolutely will not rest until I get her. So I might be back on FN before I know it. I'll be pissed if she's the mid season event.

this is the first gym fight of the hardcore nuzlocke that i actually really had to plan for! (reminder that my ruleset includes set mode, no items used from the inventory in battle, and no overleveling the gym leader's best pokemon)

i picked treecko as my starter which means i didn't have an easy answer for wattson and none of my encounters paired up amazing either, other than having a lot of grass types to resist shock wave. so i had to Use My Brain.

i initially planned for linoone to take out his weaker voltorb and electrike and then go down as a sacrifice, but because i opted for the silk scarf for extra damage instead of the cheri berry, i got punished... forgot spark could paralyze, oops. luckily my mightyena could come in and handle the electrike without much issue.

even though shock wave always hits, while my mightyena was out i opted to use sand attack a couple times because i knew he wouldn't come into use later in the battle and it would potentially be good for magneton to miss a later thunder wave. i switched into grovyle who i knew could live shock wave and got off one screech. thankfully it hit on the first attempt and mightyena's sand attacks didn't have to come into play. i had a cheri berry in case it landed so that first miss didn't really matter lmao.

swapped into cascoon as a sacrifice for a clean switch into my breloom. the reason i landed one screech is because i did calculations beforehand and figured out that breloom KO'd magneton in one hit 100% of the time at -2 defense with mach punch. this way magneton would go down and breloom would still be on full health for manectric.

now the PLAN was to leech seed manectric, then get off damage until it wasn't safe to stay in anymore and swap to gloom to clean up the fight, but for some reason in the heat of the moment i clicked headbutt instead of leech seed first which was a massive blunder and i got punished for it. thankfully i was able to land the leech seed after a few turns despite paralysis and leech seed's chance to miss. then it was just a matter of swapping into gloom and using sleep powder/acid until the dog was down.

thankfully i didn't lose any pokemon that i didn't intend to sacrifice, the battle was just slightly messier than it had to be lol. still relatively happy with it though

train mode literally was the best mode. oh, you wanna hold down one part of the train with a 3 man bunker? you wanna run wattson rampart/newcastle caustic/catalyst? it could work. but also; fuse to blow up all your shit. mad maggie to destroy all your shit once you have pylon up. crypto EMP to just completely fuck you over. literally any legend with a decent movement ability sniping you out from a good position and just moving in if they need to contest the train (good movement legends being able to just pop up and around from anywhere is actually incredibly potent in this mode. a good pathfinder ultimate allowing them to get multiple angles on you really quickly will actually just fuck you over)
