Sketch overlay of the forest territories circa The Skyfall (Sky getting kicked out of the forest). This is roughly 5-10 years before. Instead of a forest, i’ve decided that Sky will be a group of cats that are especially adept in rocky, cliff environments. Hence why they settle at the gorge later on.

Skyfall: The ThunderClan Shrine
Tumblr media
Sketch of the ThunderClan Shrine! Shrines are an addition to the clan camps in Skyfall that serve as local StarClan beacons. They’re essentially powered down versions of the Moonstone/Moonpool that are available to everyday clan members in their camps. Rituals and ceremonies for briths, deaths, and namings occur at the shrine, so that StarClan and the clan deities can hear the ritual.
The ThunderClan shrine is a stylized carving of Roaring Thunder (Thunder in canon), the legendary first leader of ThunderClan. In legend, he is depicted as a sleek tom with two tails and amber eyes. The symbol carved into his chest is the glyph for Roaring Thunder. It is usually painted red/orange using ochre paint, as are his eyes. In this sketch, the paint has faded somewhat. In ThunderClan it is common to decorate the shrine or give offerings of flowers, leaves, bones, and rocks.
The ThunderClan shrine is carved from oak and is so old that no one quite remembers when it was carved. The base has rotted a few times and has needed to be replaced. Some older or more cynical cats suggest that the same must have happened to the statue at some point. Some cats refute this however, arguing that since the shrine is under the cover of the Highrock’s ledge that the statue has not rotted and is the original. No one knows the truth for sure.

Skyfall: Warriors Names As Gaeilge!
So I posted about this before, but I am learning Irish/Gaeilge. I started for heritage/family reasons but now this language just has a death grip on me and won't let me go. I thought it would be fun to practice some vocab by translating some warrior names into Irish. So, for those who are interested in this very niche crossover, here are some of the main TPB skyfall rewrite characters as Gaeilge:
(KEY -> [Warrior Name]: [first name] = [Irish] (rough pronunciation in the Munster dialect), etc.)
(IMPORTANT PRONUNCIATION NOTE: the "ch" in Irish is a throaty sound... it's difficult to describe. Kinda like a softened "k" just farther back in your throat if that makes sense? "gh" is a guttural g sound in the same way as "ch" is. So, these combos of letters in my pronunciation guide are not pronounced the way English "ch" or "gh" would be. "dh" also makes a guttural sound)
Fireheart: fire = tine (tineh), heart = croí (kree) -> Croí na Tine (kree na tineh; literally "Heart of Fire")
Graystripe: gray = liath (leeah), stripe = stríoc (stree-ock) -> Stríoc Liath (stree-ock leeah; literally "Gray Stripe")
Ravenpaw: raven = fiach (fiach), lapa (lahpuh) -> Lapa Féich (Lahpuh Feech; literally "Raven's Paw" or "Paw of Raven")
Sandstorm: sand = gaineamh (gahniv), storm = stoirm (stirim) -> Stoirm Ghainimh (stirim ghahniv; literally "Storm of Sand" or "Sandstorm")
Tigerclaw: tiger = tíogar (teegur), crúb (croob) -> Crúb Tiogair (croob teegar; literally "Tiger's Claw")
Blueflame: blue = gorm (gorim), flame = lasair (lahsir) -> Lasair Ghorm (lahsir ghrim; literally "Blue Flame")
Yellowfang: yellow = buí (bwee), fang (same word as for "canine tooth") = starrfhiacail (stahr-ee-uh-cil) -> Starrfhiacail Bhuí (stahr-ee-uh-cil vwee; literally "Yellow Fang" or "Yellow Canine Tooth")
Spottedleaf: spotted = breac (brahk), leaf = duilleog (dilloog) -> Duilleog Bhreac (dilloog vrahk; literally "Spotted Leaf")
Stormstrike: storm = stoirm (stirim), strike = bualadh (booiladh) -> Bualadh Stoirme (booiladh stirime; literally "Strike of Storm", meant to be a reference to a lightning strike)
Silverstream: silver = airgid (airigid), stream = sruthán (shirhaahn) -> Sruthán Airgid (shirhaahn airigid; literally "Silver Stream")
Talltail: tall = ard (aard), tail = eireaball (air-uh-bull) -> Eireaball Ard (air-uh-bull aard; literally "Tall Tail")
Brokentail: broken = briste (brishtuh), tail = eireaball(air-uh-bull) -> Eireaball Briste (air-uh-bull brishtuh; literally "Broken Tail")
Cinderpelt: cinder = cnámhóg (knahvouge), pelt = finnoadh (fiona) -> Finnoadh na Cnámhóga (fiona na knah-vouguh; literally "pelt of cinders")
Whitestorm: white = bán (bohn), storm = stoirm (stirim) -> Stoirm Bhán (stirim vohn; literally "White Storm")
I'll probably do more of these in the future. I might take a crack at these in Spanish too eventually haha. It's fun to translate these.
Edit: thank you to @an-spideog who pointed out I missed a couple of séimhiú! They should be fixed now (both in the spelling and pronunciation).

Note
For Skyfall general questions, what’s a thing from each clan that they believe to be bad luck/omen or good luck/omen?
Oo that's a good one!
All the clans:
moon being covered by clouds at a gathering is bad luck (just as in canon)
holding battles on clear nights where the stars are clearly visible is considered the best time, i.e. good luck
ThunderClan:
the first cat to see an autumn leaf on the ground is thought to have bad luck for the rest of the fall and winter season
opposite to the first one listed here, the first cat to see a flower in springtime is thought to have good luck for the rest of the spring/summer season
ShadowClan:
keeping a pine twig in your nest is considered good luck
a still night where you cannot hear frogs, especially in the summer and fall, is considered bad luck
RiverClan:
stones with holes in them (hag stones) are considered good luck and cats often bring them home to keep by their nests
same applies to pieces of amber, quartz, etc.
a fish head or skull found by itself is considered bad luck
WindClan:
kittens born at night, when the stars can fully see them, are considered lucky.
rabbits with horns (infected with the Shope papilloma virus) are by themselves not considered unlucky, but eating one is considered extremely bad luck.
Thank you for the ask!!

Skyfall: Becoming Leader
In an effort to differentiate the clans more in Skyfall, each of the clans has a different way to become leader. Some are more similar than others. Below is a summary of each clan's process for selecting a deputy who will then become leader.
ThunderClan:
ThunderClan functions as the clans all do in canon. They are a meritocracy. The leader selects a deputy based on their merit rather than any kin ties to the leader. The deputy is usually a senior warrior who has proven themselves to be an exceptional warrior and leader. This is a decision made only by the leader with no official input from other clan members.
EX: Bluestorm selecting Lionheart as her second deputy since he was known to be an exceptional warrior with strong leadership qualities.
RiverClan:
In RiverClan, the deputy is selected by a council of Senior Warriors and the Cleric. This group of cats elects a new deputy through multiple voting rounds. Typically, they elect a new deputy from within the senior warriors, but sometimes an exceptional young warrior may be elected to deputy (EX: Stormstrike aka Crookedjaw). Each cat within the council presents their choice for leader, and after some deliberation the cats select one individual from the cats suggested. This process typically takes a full day or two. The longest election took a full week.
WindClan:
WindClan is the first of two clans that follow some form of monarchy. WindClan follows a divine-right tanistry-esque system. The only cats that can be considered for the deputyship are the close kin (out two generations in either direction) of the current leader. However, the leader does not select the cat who will be their deputy. The Priest selects the deputy from among the kin of the current leader with divine help. The decision of the Priest is considered the will of StarClan. Anecdotally, the kits or grandkits of the leader are most likely to be selected.
EX: Heathersong's last deputy is Talltail, her nephew. Talltail's first deputy, Smokefoot, was his cousin. His second deputy, Mudclaw, was a departure from tanistry caused by Ryestalk insisting to Barkface that he select her son. Talltail went back to tradition on his death by having Barkface proclaim that his great nephew, Peatwhisker, would be the next leader. (as you can see, this system can be very easily manipulated by cats who want power)
ShadowClan:
ShadowClan is the second clan to follow a monarchy system. ShadowClan follows classic primogeniture, where the eldest kit of the current leader is the heir apparent. Other cats may be deputy if the kit is not old enough, but once they are a warrior they are made the deputy. Sometimes, under chaotic circumstances, the clan abandons primogeniture for other cats they deem better for the position. A great example of this is the series of leaders between Brokentail's exile and Rowanclaw's ascension. Nightpelt, Tigerclaw, and Rookfoot (Blackfoot) were not in the line of primogeniture. However, the existing heirs were either too young, unwilling to be leader, or otherwise considered a bad choice by the clan who was still recovering from the tyranny of Brokentail. Rowanclaw's leadership marks the beginning of the reestablished ShadowClan monarchy.
EX: Rowanclaw is followed by his son, Goldenheart. Goldenheart's daughter, Lightleap, is considered the next in line to the leadership of ShadowClan.
Modern SkyClan:
Modern SkyClan, both at the gorge and at the lake, are full democracies. All warriors and elders are eligible to vote for a deputy. This typically takes a few rounds as cats are eliminated from the running, however, it is rare for a voting round to take any longer than a day.
EX: Leafdapple is elected by her clanmates as the first leader of Modern SkyClan. Her deputies afterwards are also elected by the clan.
Ancient SkyClan:
Ancient SkyClan merged the roles of Head Protector and Deputy. If a warrior became Head Protector then they were the Deputy. The leader selects the Senior Warriors, so in this case it is very similar to ThunderClan's system, just without the chance for non-protectors to become deputy and then leader.
EX: Cloudstorm had been head protector, and his deputy, Buzzardtail, was also head protector.

Skyfall: RiverClan Shrine
Tumblr media
The RiverClan shrine is located in between the roots of a large willow tree that sits on a creek close to camp. A stick with strips of dyed leather is tied outside the entrance and the symbol of River Ripple, legendary founder of RiverClan, is painted onto the trunk of the tree. The inside of the tree is painted and covered in paw prints left by previous RiverClan apprentices as part of their apprenticeship ceremony. Shells, stones, and fish bones are most frequently brought to the shrine as offerings.

Skyfall: Modern SkyClan Shrine
Tumblr media
This is the shrine of Modern SkyClan at the Lake Territories. Inspired by Fireheart’s tales of the statue in his home camp, the cats of SkyClan carved a moon from a oak stump in honor of Skywatcher, who they considered a modern founder for their clan. An opening under the roots is used to place offerings, as is the flat parts of the stump. Flowers, leaves, and mushrooms are common offerings. Despite the symbol of Storming Sky appearing on the shrine, this spot is most often used to honor Sky Watcher or Cloud Storm rather than the older, legendary founder of SkyClan.
