My friends and I have been playing we happy few and made our own OCs!!

This is Fitz Shenanigans, a comedian in Wellington Wells. His favorite flavor of joy WAS vanilla before discovering that it made him sick. Now he takes sunshine (an illegal drug that mimics the effects of joy) to avoid being sent to the garden district.

i promised ocs so here they be

the left is Constable Wes Matthew Kinsey, and the right is his sister Dorothy Marianne Kinsey. As youc an see they are VERY different people, with Dottie (Dorothy's nickname) being very reserved and definitely nervous in general (shes only in her 30s, but she started graying early because she has the stress tolerance of your average cheetah) and Wes being a massive dipshit. I'm not sure what occupation Dottie has (secretary, possibly?), but she used to bail him out all the time when he'd get into trouble with the Ploughboys, who he ran with as a kid. He got himself away from them, with her help, and went on to become a Constable, and now he's only SLIGHTLY less of a dumbass. She still has to grab him by the ear occasionally though.

i havent decided if theyve got a few years difference or if theyre very close in age (possibly twins?). Wes looks a lot like their mother, and Dottie their father. But you'd never be able to tell theyre related unless you knew them both, they have very similar behaviors in some ways (speech patterns and nervous habits, as well as other things).

Dottie however is at a bit of a moral dilemma, and she's caught in a loop of remembering things, going off her Joy, getting close to the truth about the disappearance of an old friend, and then getting put back on her Joy somehow and forgetting it all, only to remember again a few days or weeks later. Poor girls seen the horrors but she keeps forgor

And Wes, well, if he ever found out his sister was a Downer, he'd be torn between doing his duty to Wellington Wells and arresting her, or to doing his duty as family and protecting her. He doesn't know just yet, though.

Some little facts about them below the cut, trivia and all

Wes has dysgraphia, so he has god awful handwriting. When they were kids, Dorothy would write his stuff for him so he could read it later.

Dorothy has one or two nervous tics, her Joy keeps them down but if she goes off, stress can make them pop up again.

Wes can play electric guitar, and learned bc "ladies love a guitarist right".

Dottie used to deliver packages around Wellington Wells, before settling into her current job once the new mailboy took over.

Dorothy once knew Davey Hackney. They don't talk much but she'll give him a hello if she sees him on her rare visit to the Parade.

Because her brother is a Constable, Dorothy has a bit of a positive reputation among the Bobbies as well, and they much appreciate her company when she stops by to drop off the lunch Wes forgot again

Wes would kill to protect his sister.

The man turns to face the viewer.

He chuckles, examining his torn coat with disdain before returning his gaze up. "Job is going as it always does, bit more exciting than usual though! Do hope your day's been right as rain, of course."

Wardrobe: RT, when out and about, can be seen with a messenger hat, his usual yellow turtleneck, bell bottoms, dress shoes, and a leather jacket.

When in his Doctor gear, he ditches the horrid yellow boots and stuffy dress shirt and tie, opting instead for the turtleneck and dress shoes, keeping the jacket open. As for the glasses, why cover the money maker?

And, of course, he always keeps his Happy Face Mask on. Always.

Likes: Socializing, walks, music (any kind)

Backstory:

Before the war, Eugene was a salesman. He grew up in Wellington Wells, helping his family out with their general store. He was the one who would advertise for the store, posting ads on the billboards around town. He had a knack for selling people on products. Other businesses would reach out to him to help sell their products, for a price. Eugene thought nothing of it, since, even if the family business wouldn't be selling as much, he was still bringing in money.

This continued, with him advertising for more places, eventually making commercials for them.

When the first batch of Joy came out, he was one of the main people advertising it. As new batches came out, and Joy became rapidly popular, his ads were put on inbetween Uncle Jack - an easy way to remind people that they can get their hands on bottled happiness for the low low price of nothing.

With the rise of Joy Doctors, he was invited to join, as a way for the people of Wellington Wells, especially the working class, to be more accepting of this new force. The invitation was accepted.

Of course, the number one rule of sales is to know your audience, as well as your product. He was aware of the downsides of Joy - the memory loss, the withdrawals - and he, personally, wanted none of it. He had not been effected the way the rest of the town was by the Very Bad Thing. And he definitely didn't regret his choice of profession, no no he did not. So there was no reason to put himself through the negatives.

Besides, if you can't accept the negatives, how will you know what to leave out in your pitch?

Arthur:

Deadass doesn't know who he is. At all. They probably would get along somewhat (before he went off Joy), but RT would most likely find him annoying after a while.

Sally:

He is a client of hers, for Sunshine. They... don't really like each other. But business is business.

Ollie:

He knows who Ollie Starkey is, but couldn't care less honestly. If they ever did meet, RT would find him hilarious.

WARREN FLUOX : a case in compulsive happiness ANYWAYS !! FINISHED UP MY WE HAPPY FEW DESIGN !! honestly I'll see about working on the other character ideas in mind but I really had a lot of fun drawing him up ! the idea was to specifically invent a character who built off of the logo + general vibe we happy few has and I think I got a good balance of both. I know the fandom is particularly dead by this point but I don't control my fixations so you all will have we happy few rot pushed upon you I am still working on his background but the most you can know is that : warren uses he / him prns, he's around his 40s in current time, particularly 45 years old I like to believe, the bottom left depiction of warren is when he was younger, around his 20s, long before he really ever started taking joy, and he used to be a lot less, we'll say, egoistical and outright a mess than before. and he didn't have scars either. this mask actually ripped up his face given he was the first to ever wear them and had been on joy for a long time to the point he doesn't even need it anymore because he's so wholely wanton to be in eternal bliss to repress all of the trauma of the game's events and more than that, particular traumas he had to suffer through. but, idk he'll probably be fine :] !

So on August 10th, We Happy Few officially turned 5 years old!!!!! Y’all have no idea how much I adore this game and how much it means to me (even though I’ve made it pretty obvious lmao). I could seriously talk about it nonstop for days. Weeks, perhaps. But the creativity of this fandom is lovely to see, and so inspiring. I hope I can make some more WHF-related content for you all soon🩵
