Iseult because she’s my weaverwitch queen and Safi because she’s hilarious. We love an iconic set of besties.

Where is all the Witchlands adoration and merch?! I want fanart and things to put in front of my books and I'm getting none of it.

Iseult det Midenzi & Safiya fon Hasstrel
- The Witchlands by Susan Dennard
Woah, making this aesthetic was a blast. This is very far away from what I originally planned, but whatever. It’s been a while since I made one of these.
For my two faves, Iseult & Safi, who I love with all my heart. If you haven’t read the Witchlands series yet, what are you doing?! Start right now.

Iseult: Corlant, when shall you tell me that you are my father?
Corlant: Like Darth Vader, I would have to cut off your hand first!
Iseult: I pass!

“I hate this. Both the storm and the plan. Why does it have to be ‘we’? Why not just me?“ “Because ‘just me’ isn’t who we are,” Iseult hollered back. “I’ll always follow you, Safi, and you’ll always follow me. Threadsisters to the end.”

THIS LOOKS SO AMAZING. YOU’RE DOING THE LORD’S WORK
Tumblr media
“Esme’s long black hair was divided into two braids, and as Iseult’s vision cleared, she realized the bright bursts of color within Esme’s hair were actually strips of felt. Strings of beads. Dried flowers too … . The Puppeteer was much prettier—easily the most beautiful Nomatsi woman Iseult had ever seen, with her delicate jaw and lucent white skin. The flashes of color in her long hair enhanced the beauty, as did the dimple in her right cheek that flashed whenever she smiled.” —Windwitch by @stdennard

Weaver Witch || Elora & Ryden
“Now, a word of advice.” Ryden began, walking by Elora’s side, his trademark leather jacket on his back. They were headed down the hallway of Ryden’s building, same floor where his apartment was, stopping in front of the door of someone else’s. “Nanny Joelle ain’t... Well, how do I put this. She special.” In lack of a better term but Ryden hoped this would be enough to at least warn Elora a little because nothing would be able to really prepare her for the eccentric presence that the witch they were abut to meet carried.
Tumblr media
Already, Elora would get a few warning signs from the outer side of the doors to the witch’s apartment, where a huge, dried up garland of rosemary, thistle, mistletoe and dried garlic heads hung against a large, rusted nail that seemed to have spend a few decades undersea. Beneath it, a note was taped to the faded, peeling paint that was slowly chipping off the door, angry handwriting all in capital letters:
‘NO ADDMITTANCE EXCEPT FOR ORACLE BUSINESS.’
Below, where the bottom of the door met with the threshold which seemed to have been forcefully pulled out with only nails and splinters sticking out of the bare floorboards where it otherwise should’ve been, a thick line of what looked like old Himalayan salt spilled there for god knew how long was getting slowly broken down by a colony of ants, working diligently on cleaning it up and nowhere near being done with it.
Ryden looked down at the she-wolf, lips pressed into a tight line. “Don’t take ‘er too seriously. She’s just a crazy old nan. No other way to go about it.” Ryden sighed, really wanting to have a better way to describe nanny Joelle but there simply wasn’t one. “Oh yeah, and when she offers tea, say no. She’ll just spit in it for good luck if she likes ya. Ready?” He raised his fist, ready to knock on the door at Elora’s approval.
