Also, I have a small theory about the lucid dream sequence.

So I believe that Alex invaded Dia's dream like Dave did and used Baldi's disguise. If he was just another dream and I forgot then I guess I'm thinking too deeply about this-

I don't think Dia or Dave has seen Alex in his human disguise and had only seen Aldurra, who uses his true form all the time. And in the dream, since they had both never seen Alex before, used Baldi as a placeholder instead of Alex. And I think to Alex he looked normal, not that strange Baldi mutation.

Another thing.

The actual Baldi in the webspace seems to act a lot like the Baldi from the save the game series. And Kelly is also a person that Dia and Dave knew. So I also think that Baldi from save the game might be the same person who came to the webspace with Dia.

Idk maybe I'm spiting stuff out my ass and taking stuff too seriously-

Oooooooh we get to talk about what we consider the three experienced layers of reality, at least to us of terran origin? Cuz. Sure, the physical world - what we call meatspace - is kinda important, it's unfortunately where our wetware's hosted. And even if we were to be able to turn digital in the future, it'd be where our servers would be hosted, etc. But online - what we call webspace and others may call cyberspace, not one singular "space" but rather a large and always growing group of "spaces" in the digital, isn't any less real! It's different, and especially for plural systems, or any form of non-human, or trans people, or others who disagree with their physical body / meatbag, it's super important and helpful! Because in webspace, you CAN just present differently - stars, you have a completely different set of presentation options! How you type (grammar, typing quirks, word choice), as well as names/IDs, profile pictures, any other form of avatar... It's so very different that we can't treat it as the same as the physical world, because it isn't. But it is just as real. And, to get back to the original layer talked about in OP's post - headspace, or mindspace. 100% Real. 100% Affects people (and non-people). To deny it as "real" is, even if not intended as such, to dismiss experiences or effects of it. Which, to anyone who actually has a mindspace, regardless of how stable, is practically like telling them part of who they are and what they do is fake. Horrible to do. Should be more widely considered an act of bigotry, tbeh. Yes, similar to how webspaces are different from meatspace, so is headspace from webspace - primarily in that there are even less limitations. Only your imagination, and the human wetware is so very good at imagination (sometimes).

For i.e. plural systems with dissociative disorders, they might genuinely feel a disconnect from their physical body - and instead prefer their online or headspace presentation (or both!). This does not make them lesser, or an "issue to be fixed" - yes, it is suboptimal for capitalism's sake, and they have to account for it in social interactions and spoon allocation, but it's a perfectly viable and healthy way to live.

Do note: We're fairly certain that there's more lived layers of experiences, some of which we have simply not experienced, some of which we terrans might simply not be able to experience - never say never. It's fun theorizing, but also leads nowhere, so we typically don't. These are just the 3 layers we can 100% confirm to be a thing.

Like gateway systems, which are systems who feel like their headspace is an existing world, aren't that uncommon. Hell that's what we've identified as since like 2016.

We view our headspace as a real place metaphysically. It might not have the same properties as the physical world and it's a complex thing, but yeah we would consider it to be a real place overall and more a dimension we inhabit.

This isn't even a system-specific belief. There are singlets who might have inner worlds that they consider real, see astral travel/astral spaces. We've met plenty of maladaptive daydreamers too who feel their paracosms are real.

Also once again, comorbidity with psychosis and sanism aside, boy howdy you guys have to stop telling people things aren't real when dealing with dissociative disorders

Welcome to the Web space spoilers!!

I don't know why it was so funny to me that Alex is just straight up gone. It's such a mystery to conclude an ark that has been here since the beginning of the book, but in my opinion it worked. I mean, I don't think Alex can be killed, so what better way to get rid of him to just abandon him :D. Anyway-

It would be nice if he was eternally tortured by the souls that he tortured himself. Well- it's not nice but you know what I mean. I like Alex a whole bunch, but I can't help but wonder what his motivation was for destroying everyone's lives.

Now onward to apparently the last volume in wttw. Dealing with 1's reign. I'm excited to see what he cooks up :)
