I hate him. I'm not ready to be a mom. I'm 20 and still in school. While he is out hitting the bars I'm stuck at work. I hate that on my 21 I'm going to be home while he's probably out at the bars. I hate he was too selfish to respect my wishes. I don't know what I saw in him. But I can't leave, the baby needs a father. And if I left him, the baby wouldn't have a father. He knew I didn't want kids, but I couldn't say no to him. He pressured me, making me give in. I was weak and now I'm paying. You play adult games and you win adult prizes. I'm just done trying anymore. I'll never be able to provide the baby with a life it deserves. I don't want it to struggle like I have. I don't want it to hate me. I'm not ready to be a mom, yet society tells me I have to be. I will never get to be a normal 20 year-old. I'm going to probably struggle my whole life. And for what? To raise a baby that's probably going to hate me? I just wish what I wanted would have been respected. I never understood the intentions behind the women's march, but as I type this I finally understand; I just want my wishes, concerns, and choices to be respected. Something that wasn't done, causing me to be in this situation. Maybe if my choices and concerns would have been respected I wouldn't be in this situation.

The #WeHaveVoice Collective, a new group of female and non-binary musicians in #jazz and experimental music, is releasing a Code of Conduct that aims to build upon the conversations sparked by jazz’s own #MeToo movement, clearly articulating what a more equitable workplace might look like and setting expectations for change. The collective — made up of 14 instrumentalists and vocalists — is working to ensure that predatory and sexist behavior is seen as aberrant, not as part of the cost of doing business in jazz. “The idea is to propose solutions, and also open the conversation to go further,” the tenor saxophonist Maria Grand said. “How do we change this culture? And not just in the dynamic of victims denouncing perpetrators, because that puts the victims at a lot of risk. Today I have been called aggressive and uncaring🤔 i have never acted as a role model or a person someone should look up too. Naw I am a regular person sharing my life experience with folks. I had to work twice as hard as the next person because I was label as the underdog or the person who was dumb or the black girl. I don’t argue or go into folks inbox asking nothing . I just focus on me help who I can and then move forward . What bothers most folks is I don’t beat around the bush and i am straight forward , overly emotional folks don’t like me and I am good with that all of that , I am not disrespectful nor am I a narcissist. I don’t like folks that will give you a compliment then turn around and give you a disrespectful comment . Like wtf . Anyway I love my culture and my beliefs I don’t force them on anyone nor do I make it sound like it’s the best since slice bread. Yet folks will act like it’s the underground mafia or a gang . It’s not dark or full of war . It’s to rebuild your life and your family first along with therapy no a license therapist . We have so many issues that we forget that therapy is needed . Anyway I had to check myself to see what part did I play and reading previous text messages I allowed our conversations to be one sided and this person was above my pay rate on every level . I started to set boundaries and this person wanted the dirt or the tea . Let me explain I never met this person they wanted to be introduced to folks so they can learn spells and find ways of hurting people . It was always someone is trying to do something every person that I recommend to her she had a problem . So I had to first hold myself accountable with not entertaining the issue not seeing it first acting like Superman and trying to save folks from their own karma people pleasing so to speak . I am sad that I allowed it to go this way yet I am grateful that it ended cause it would have not been good and folks just meeting on line is a no no . They have hidden agendas and I am grateful for my crown that she see things before I could ever . Maferefun Oshun and making sure I am good on this journey . At the end I have been called a lot of things in this life . Yet I don’t argue with folks that claim what they feel or imagine , I will continue to do what I was called to do . So folks know this it’s not what they call you it’s what you answer to and I am grateful for every part of my life
