Wendip Week 2022 - You Belong With Me
Set in 2022, Wendy, Pacifica, & the twins are all at Willington U. Pacifica is going for her bachelor's degree in business. Mabel is attempting to dual degree in teaching and child development. Wendy is going for her bachelor's degree in forestry after working two years with her dad to save up for college. And Dipper is juggling a bachelor's degree in archeology, being a division 1 track star, and a girlfriend.
Everything is going great, except Wendy has a problem.
Wendy's problem is that she is not the girlfriend...

Prompt - On 4 Wheels
April 16th, 2022 45 minutes outside of Spington, NV
‘Ugh, not again.’ Wendy groaned internally as she tried to not listen to Dipper’s side of the phone conversation he was having with his girlfriend. But it was hard. Here he was having yet another disagreement with miss priss about why they hadn’t made it to the Springton U’s track field yet, never mind the fact that they were in the convoy with the rest of the track team. And also never mind the fact they still have a hour and a half before they were supposed to be there. Just because the cheer coach wanted her squad there early to get some practice in before the match, Kayla expected him to be there with her. It doesn’t matter to her that the track coach wanted Dipper and the team to arrive together. If Wendy wasn’t driving right now she would have rolled her eyes at that one. But she was and so she instead decided that while he was looking out the passenger window, she would “accidentally” turn the radio up.
She heard Mabel and Paz snicker in the back as Occam’s Raybands’ “3ating Pi” started blaring throughout the microbus. She nearly regretted it as she saw Dip jerk away from his phone for a moment before he started trying to placate “Her Raven Priss-ness”. This really shouldn’t be bothering her, but since the beginning of last year (ok, longer than that even, if she was being truthful with herself) she’s realized that things have changed for her. She had been ok with just being friends (especially since she was the one that had told him she was too old for him that first summer), but that summer before they all back went to college she finally decided to tell him how she felt. Unfortunately the twins arrived to town after visiting their parents, he hit her with the news he had a new girlfriend who would also be heading to Willington U in the fall. She told him she was happy for him and they continued to hang out the rest of that summer but inside she was torn up.
“Sorry man, I thought you were done with her.” Wendy said as he got off the phone, “I mean I know this is one of your favorites, so I thought we could rock out to it to hype you up for the race.”
“That’s okay, Kayla was just wondering how long it was going to be until we got there.” Dipper said as he slid his phone into the pocket of his vest.
“Broseph,” said from the back seat, “you know we can hear your side of the call and as loud Kayla was we heard most of her side too.”
“Well…” Dipper started as he rubbed the back of his head.
“Dipper, I really can’t see what you’re doing with her.” Pacifica cut him off, “Yeah, she’s cute but she’s also a self serving, stuck up lil b…”
Mabel had quickly gotten her hand over her girlfriend’s mouth before she finished her thought. “Paz, Com’on you know how I feel about cursing, no matter how much I agree with what you’re saying.”
“Alright,” Pacifica said as Mabel removed her hand, “Just think about it, Dipper. And remember that’s coming from me.”
“She’s not all that bad,” Dipper responded causing Wendy to roll her despite the fact she was driving.
“Look Dip Dop,” Mabel said in a placating tone, “we know you want to believe that, but you’re talking to the three people who probably know you better than you know yourself. You’ve been mopping around for really most of the semester and don’t try to deny it. You didn’t even want to checkout the rumor of the sasquatch that’s been seen near campus recently.”
“And you blew off last week’s DDMoreD session cause you didn’t feel like it.” Paz added whilst twirling a lock of her hair “Poor Dylan had worked so hard on the adventure too. He was crushed that we had to cancel cause our tank wasn’t going to be there. I was gonna to get give you a piece of my mind, then Mabel told me you had gotten into another fight with the dye job diva.”
By this time Dipper had shifted in his eat so he was mostly facing the rear passengers. Shaking his head he said, “Man, I’ll have to apologize to Dyl. I didn’t mean to upset him like that, I was just having a bad day.”
“You’ve been having a lot of those recently. And most of them are due to her prissy-ness.” Wendy said before she even realized it.
“Et tu, Wendy?” Dipper half joked/half asked.
“Dude, you blew off our last movie night because Kayla needed you to proof a paper for a class you don’t even take. I mean I could see Mabs taking a couture design class but fashion is not your thing.”
“Well she needed me to catch any errors it her writing,” Dipper explained even though he had hated missing the cheesy movie and hanging with Wendy.
“That’s a load of bull hockey bro!” Mabel said before she blew a raspberry to emphasize her point. “There’s this great function on every computer called spellcheck, I know you’ve heard of it.”
“According to Grace, Kayla just didn’t want you spending time with anyone else. Especially Wendy.” Paz added.
“Who’s Grace?” Wendy asked as her grip tightened on the steering wheel.
“Kayla’s roommate.” Dipper responded without thinking. Wendy made a mental note to have Paz introduce her to her. Dipper continued, “Guys thanks for looking out for me, but it’s ok. We’ve just hit a rough patch. Every couple does.”
“Dipperdoo,” Mabel said solemnly while pyramiding her hands, “you guys have been together for two years and she still has to come to me for any ideas on what to get you for any gift related occasion. How else do you think she knew to get you that new DD&MoreD expansion for Christmas and the hot sauce set for Valentine’s.”
“And let’s face it Dip, you’ve never been the best at figuring out the opposite sex.” Pacifica added, “ I had to kiss this beauty beside me before you realized that yes, I was interested in a Pines twin just not you.”
“Hey that was not my fault,” Dipper said defensively, “there was a lot of weird signals going around that summer. Heck, I was surprised that Lovegod wasn’t visiting the Falls at the time; I mean Candy started dating Kevin, Thompson started dating the girl from Bebblybop’s, Tambry caught Robbie cheating on her, etc.”
“Like you said, we’re just looking out for you, dork.” Wendy said while doing her best to keep her eyes on the road, she wasn’t sure her expression would betray her feelings here. She already hadn’t liked Kayla, now she was beginning to despise her.
“Well for now let’s change the subject, I’m feeling a lil uncomfortable here.” Dipper said as he turned back towards the front of the microbus.
“Just one more thing and I’ll drop it,” Mabel said. “Think about what we’ve said and ask yourself, do you want someone doesn’t know you well enough to figure a simple gift or maybe someone who not only knows your favorite song, but also your favorite food and even your favorite movie.”
Mabel noticed Wendy stiffened a lil at the remark, but as usual it went over Dipper’s head. She may not be as observant as her brother when it comes to mysteries, but she’s a professional matchmaker and when it comes to romantic feelings it’s hard to hide them from her. She had thought for awhile that maybe Wendy was finally gonna give into her feelings for Dipper, but then Kayla popped into the picture. And while she was happy for him at first, she noticed that it was bugging her ginger friend. So she has made it her goal to see the two of them realize they were perfect for each other. Or to be more precise, to help them realize that the other already does feel that way.
True to their word they changed the subject and spent the rest of the road trip talking about nonsensical stuff and singing along to the song list Wendy had arranged for the trip.
After a half hour or so the convoy turned into the parking lot of the college sports center. Wendy quickly found a spot to park and Dipper hopped out to get together with the rest of his Division 1 track team.
As soon as he was outta sight, Wendy turned towards Mabel, “What the heck was that Mabs?”
Mabel seemingly pulled a pair of heart shaped sunglasses out of thin air and slid them on. Then she pulled them down so that she was looking over the top of them and said, “Just doing what comes naturally Wen-Wen. You need to snatch him up soon before that harpy gets her claws too firmly into him.”
And with that Mabel turned and headed on towards the line at the entrance to the stands. Paz quickly joined her girl, leaving Wendy standing there realizing she hadn’t been as good as hiding her feelings as she thought.
Dipper was still going over the conversation from the microbus when he caught up to the rest of the team.
“Hey Dipster man, thought you wouldn’t make it,” his teammate Toby said as he slapped him on the back.
Snapping back to the present, Dipper replied “I was just over there, it’s not like I wasn’t in the vehicle behind you.”
“Oh I know, but your entire walk over here you were a thousand miles away.” Toby said as he led Dipper towards the athletes entrance, “You worried about racing your old training partner?”
Perplexed, Dipper asked “Huh?”
“Don’t you remember, Malcolm transferred here when his mom got sick to be closer to her.” Toby chided, “You two are in the 100 meters and the relay!”
Dipper stopped where he was. He had actually forgotten about that, mostly since he hadn’t thought about it since Malcolm had left. Training buddy, mote like sparring partner if anything. They were always competing for spots at track meets and standings in the teams pecking order. Or more like Malcolm was. He could never stand to be second best.
“Uhm, Dip.” He heard Toby say, snapping him out of the tangent of thoughts running through his head. He turned to look towards where Toby had stopped at the exit of the tunnel they were in. Toby waved Dipper back as he continued, “You may not want to come out here.”
Dipper’s natural curiosity urged him forward. He couldn’t think of any reason to not go out to the track field. They did have a competition to win. As he got to the door way Coach Auburn stepped in front of him.
“You know what son, why don’t you take this meet off. Maybe go get your sister and her cute friends and you all can take in the local sights.” The Coach said as he did his best the block the exit.
Wondering what in the world was going out there that would cause the Coach to suggest that he gave up the spot he had earned, Dipper ducked down between the two blocking the way and slipped outside. He took a look around and at first he couldn’t see any problem. The other visiting teams were getting to their benches, the Springton team was at theirs, the various cheer squads were over in the area, Kayla was kissing Malcolm, Mabel and the girls were just getting to there seats…
He jerked his head back towards where he saw his girlfriend kissing his old rival. He broke into a sprint towards them. Toby tried to catch him, but Dipper ran the 100 meter for a reason. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw movement in the bleachers but was focused on the couple. They had just broke apart when he reached them.
“Kayla, what in the seven layers of hell is going on here?” he asked as she realized he was there.
“Dipper…” Kayla started but was quickly cut off by Malcolm saying, “What does it look like Pines. You’ve come in second again.”
“Why you…” Dipper started towards Malcolm ready to thrash him before a firm hand landed on his shoulder.
“Don’t let him get to you Dip.” Wendy said from behind him, it was her hand “He’s not worth it.”
“You’re right. I’ve known he was a jerk for as long as I’ve known him.” Dipper said as he attempted to pull free from Wendy’s grip, Turning his gaze towards Kayla, “You though, I would have never guessed this from you. We’ve been through so much together.”
“I’m so sorry Mas…,” Kayla started before she just stopped and shook her head. Slipping an arm “ You know what, no I’m not sorry. It was fun while it lasted, having you follow me around like a well trained puppy.”
Dipper started at her like she was growing a second head. He jerked out of it as he felt Wendy’s hand tighten on his shoulder. By now Mabel and Pacifica had made it to the crowd that was gathering.
It didn’t seem to matter to Kayla that they were there as she continues, “But after awhile I just needed a man. I was gonna break up with you last year but my Mal here had to go take care of his mom, after all he needed to protect his inheritance.”
Kayla continued on, but Dipper stood there getting madder as Kayla spoke. He couldn’t believe all the time they were together meant nothing to her. If it wasn’t for Wendy’s hand holding his shoulder he might have done something stupid. “And to top it off, you were always going on about or spending time with that red headed tramp behind you!”
It was Dipper’s turn to hold back Wendy, but they both got some satisfaction because Paz wasn’t as successful at holding back Mabel.
“You jezebel!” Mabel called out as she delivered a right cross that would’ve made Grunkle Stan proud. Kayla went down like a sack of rice.
The rest of the event ended up being fairly uneventful after that. The coach again offered to let Dipper skip the race if he wanted too, but Dip said he need to blow off the steam. The organizers did have the good decency to put Malcolm and Dipper in lanes on the opposite end of the track. At the shot Dipper tripped coming of the starting line but quickly righted himself. It didn’t take him long to catch up to and take the lead. He got bit of satisfaction in beating Malcolm. If looks could kill, neither of them would have survived to make it to the relay at the end of the meet. And while Dip’s team didn’t take first place they still beat Springton.
Dipper begged off going with the team to eat after the meet and so the four of them piled into the Dipper’s microbus. Though neither Dipper or Wendy felt like driving so he tossed the keys to Pacifica and they took the back seat. It was decided that they would grab their stuff from the hotel the team had and head on back home.
Dipper really didn’t say much on the way home and when they finally got there he went on up to his room.

Wendip Week 2022-Birthday
Wendy tries to get her husband to enjoy their honeymoon.
written for @wendip-week
Wendy emerged from the water as Dipper was busy looking for a cure for the curse the couple had accidently unleashed on their hike.
“Dipper, this is our honeymoon! Stop working.” Clad in an emerald green bikini, the red head walked over to her husband. “Come, swim with me.”
“Not if we don’t want volcano ghosts following us home.”
Wendy sighed. “What do you want for your birthday?”
Dipper looked up. “What?”
“Your birthday is, like, next month, what do you want?”
Dipper put down the book and looked his wife in her eyes. “Wendy, marrying you is the second happiest moment of my life. Second only to the birth of Rose and Ty. I don’t need anything else.”
“Then swim with your wife dude.” She grabbed him and started pulling him to the pool. Dipper slipped off his shirt and kicked off his sandals as he fell into the pool. He kissed her under the waves as their honeymoon continued.

Nautiscarader's Wendip Week 2022 #2: movies and chill
(Ao3)
Wendy slowly opened her eyes, feeling sharp pain in her head. It took her a moment to regain her memories and understand where she was…
The metallic floor she was lying on felt cold, and the ominous, greenish-yellow glow only deepened her anxiety. Last thing she remembered was…
Dipper… she went with him on a…
"Spaceship!", she suddenly exclaimed as her memories came back. She looked around her metallic cell, the door armed with grid of lasers through which she could see the opposite room and its inhabitant.
"Dipper!", she yelled, seeing him, twitch.
"W-Wendy…?", he asked sleepily, "What-what's going o-OH MY GOD WE'VE BEEN ABDUCTED!"
"Stay away from, the bars.", she pointed to her slightly burned clothes. "Are you okay?"
"I mean, aside being on a spaceship, yeah.", he replied, "And you?"
"Just bruises, honestly we've had Thanksgiving with worse score", she joked trying to de-escalte the level of stress. In reality, her brain was working overtime, trying to find any weak point of their cell, but she couldn;t even find a single screw head or hole…
"Wendy, uh, listen.", Dipper spoke, gaining her attention, "Look, if, if we don't-"
He swallowed loudly and was about to continue when Wendy interrupted him.
"We will. So hold your big news for when we really are in no win scenario. We've been through worse."
Dipper opened his mouth but promptly closed it, his lips curling into a faint smile mimicking hers.
But his moment of happiness did not last long, as a loud "thud" from the corridor startled both of them, and made them both look at the shadow on the floor growing steadily as someone approached them.
They both retracted further into their cells, and both started frantically looking for their belongings, quickly realising their pockets have been emptied.
And at the same time, the silhouette of their captor appeared between them, and they both gasped at the alien keeping them hostage.
it looked like a giant insect, complete with several segmented, glowing eyes and antennae, as well as pincer-like protrusions around what looked like its mouth. At least three pairs of appendages poked from under its cape, revealing further four legs he was walking on.
"Ah, humans.", it spoke in a deep, menacing voice, "Finally awake. Good…"
"Lower those bars so we can show you what we do with cockroaches back on our planet!", Wendy raised her fists, but her plan, as feeble as it was, has been quickly put to rest as glowing rings of energy appeared around her ankles and wrists, immobilising her.
"Wendy!", Dipper cried, moments before the same happened to him.
"Humans, so primitive, so violent…", the alien muttered, as the bars to their cells disappeared. "today, you shall be the first to pay for your species horrible crime to the universe."
Two long arms grabbed both of them and the alien dragged them behind it, as it walked down the long, empty corridor.
"Crimes? What crimes?", Dipper asked, hoping to buy them some time.
"The pollution!", the alien exlained as they entered a huge hall with two chairs in the middle, "humans have been polluting this part of the galaxy for quite some time anbd now you will get to experience it!"
"Galaxy? We barely went to the Moon! And it was so long ago some folks even don't think it happened… "
The alien, together with its two compatriots chuckled, as the energy bars immobilised Wendy and Dipper to their seats.
"We're not talking about your feeble attempts at space exploration… You will now experience the PAIN we feel every day! "
Suddenly, a low buzzing noise filled the room, as machine with dozens of blinking lights awoke from its slumber. Hair stood on Dipper and Wendy's necks, as the two tried looking at each other, their necks unable to move.
"W-Wendy, listen", Dipper stuttered, as the ominous noise grew in volume, "I-I've been wanting to ask you-"
"I-i know, dude", she interrupted him.
From his restrained position Dipper could notice a faint smile, as well as a tear running down her freckled cheek as she tried to connect with her friend.
"Now, humans, taste a piece of your own filth!"
Suddenly, a bright, white flash filled the room, making Wendy and Dipper flinch, wondering how long will the torture last, but to their surprise, instead of sound of war machinery or torture devices, they heard a familiar phrase.
"I'm telling, you Alice, one of these days…"
Wendy and Dipper opened their eyes, and as they slowly adapted to the bright light, they realised they were seated against a giant projector screen.
"Bang, zoom, to the moon!"
"W-wait a minute…"
The alien laughed with a maniacal pleasure.
"That is right, humans! For almost a century you have been polluting the electromagnetic waves with the utter garbage, and now you will know what we feel with our antennae every waking moment!"
"You mean…", Wendy started, her lips curling into a smile. "That you have cheesy movies…"
"…The worst you could find…", Dipper continued.
"And we have to sit and watch, while you monitor our minds?"
"YE-wait, why are you grinning?", the alien stopped mid-sentence as he realised his plan might had a flaw in it.
"Okay, one more question: do you guys know what popcorn is?"
============
Three hours later, the alien collective was brought to tears and despair, as nothing of the years of human nonsense broadcasted loud and clear from the damned planet has managed to bring the two prisoners down. If anything, it made them happier.
"We almost got killed by a tractor…", Wendy and Dipper sang to a made-up tune as another movie from the by-gone era was displayed in a futile attempt to bring them down.
===========
"Nuh-uh. he shot first."
"No he didn't!"
"Yes he did! Hey, mister alien, can you rewind the tape? And maybe go frame-by-frame?"
"OH MY BLORB THEY WANT TO REWATCH IT?"
"Well, duh, that's why they've made the special editions! So we can argue more!"
==========
"I'm telling you, they could have both survived on that iceberg", Wendy continued, slurping drink provided by the aliens abiding by some galactic laws regarding prisoners, "If she just moved slightly to the left."
"Yeah, bu-but then the movie wo-wouldn't have wo-worked!", Dipper replied, sniffing as tears ran down his cheeks.
"That's it!", the alien walked in front of the screen, "You guys are the WORST prisoners. Do you know how many versions of my plan of human destruction I've been through?"
"Oh, dude, please tell me it was your ninth one.", Wendy suddenly cheered.
"Okay, I'm done with you.", it spoke, "Beam them down to that hellhole of nonsense".
"So you DO say 'beam me down'!"
"Thank you mister alien!", Dipper laughed before both he and Wendy were engulfed by light and disappeared from the deck.
The next moment, the two found themselves exactly in the same place where they have been abducted from - except the cinema was closed, but with their belongings gone, so was the premise of attending screening of any movie.
"Well, so much for our date", Wendy joked, checking her pockets, "But hey, I think we got enough movies for a while huh?"
"Yeah, and-wait, wha-what did you call it?", Dipper took a moment to ponder the meaning of her words.
"A date, dude.", she smiled, giving him a knowing look, "Don't deny it, i know what you've wanted to say back then…"
Before he could protest, she cupped his cheeks, and seeing his eyes widen, she gave him a soft kiss.
"Dunno about you, but not being incinerated by incompetent aliens collecting old TV shows sounds like a good idea for a first date."
"Uh…"
"Are you gonna walk me home? We should tell our families what happened."
"O-Oh! Right!", Dipper regained his senses, "Right…"
Wendy reached her hand and waited for Dippers to join hers, their fingers intertwining as they walked back towards the Shack, laughing at the adventure they've had.
==========
A few million of miles above them, three aliens sat in the same room once designed as torture chamber, watching the same movie Dipper and Wendy have been making jokes and songs about.
"You know, I am kinda getting why humans like it.", said the first one.
"Really?"
"Yeah. We could turn it into some sort of self-deprecating, pain-inducing chamber show for degenerates with way too much money."
"We better do, otherwise we will not be able to explain why we've wasted so much money for nothing…", the alien commander took a sip from a bottle. "And you know, they were right, these two could both fit on that iceberg…".`

Wendip Week 2022 #1: on four wheels
(Ao3)
As every year, a small crowd of people gathered near the bus stop at the outskirts of a sleepy town in Oregon. Except, unlike for the past five years, they were not waiting for a bus - mostly because the local company seemed to have abandoned the line a few months ago, and the sign has been half-eaten by some animal.
That might have been the reason behind the company's decision.
Fortunately, lack of buses did not put an end to one tradition that caused the townsfolk to gather in the same place at the start of every Summer.
"Where the heck are they?", Ford asked, peeling his eyes, looking at the empty road, "They should have been here by now."
"Calm down", his brother reassured him, "I wouldn't worry about these two."
"Wait, can you hear that?"
Melody turned her head at the slight noise her ears picked up, and the rest followed her, only to experience sharp pain when a mighty roar of a car engine, combined with screeching tires reached them a second later.
At the very end of the forest road a colourful dot emerged from a cloud of smoke, appearing larger and larger the closer it got, causing the crowd to realise they are standing right in its way.
They jumped to the sides, but the rainbow-coloured Jeep did a sharp ninety-degree spin turning sideways as it came to a screeching halt, exposing the driver behind the wheel with a wild smile on her braces-free face.
"Mabel!", the folks cheered in unison as Mabel Pines jumped out of her car, straight into her great-uncles' arms, then into a much tighter one of her group of friends, and finally into a heated kiss with her blonde girlfriend.
"And, uh, where's the-"
"I'm here, grunkle", a meek voice replied from inside the car, "Though honestly, it feels like I'm in five places at once…"
Dipper Pines carefully stepped out of the car, his face sharing some of the colours of his sister's car, as he waddled towards the group, mostly to reassure him that they were not moving from side to side as the rest of the forest.
"Geez, dude, you doing alright there?", Soos asked his friend, only to get reply from his sister.
"Oh, he's FINE!", Mabel slapped his back, making Dipper's eyes pop up as something simultaneously went back down his throat, "It's not the first time he rides with me!"
"It's the second time…", he corrected her. "I'm still not sure how come you got your license."
"It's all about attitude, bro!", she rolled her eyes, "My instructor was telling me that as I learn to drive, I will find which rules can be bent, and which can be broken…"
"Mabel, I am sure that's not how driving works…"
"Then why didn't you drive?"
A new voice joined the conversation, instantly gaining Dipper's attention, much to Mabel's amusement. Dipper turned his head as Wendy emerged from the crowd, welcoming him with a slightly cocky smile, to which Dipper could only reply with meek stuttering. Despite being seventeen, the sight of his old red-head crush still made him freeze and lose composure, until Mabel's not-so-subtle nudge awoke him from his trance.
"H-Hi, Wendy…"
"That's because he didn't pass.", Mabel explained for him.
"Mabel!"
"Oh come on, dude, tons of people don't pass on the first try", Wendy nudged him from the other side. "Tambs had to try three times, Nate twice, Robbie and Thompson four…"
"And you?", he asked automatically, looking nervously back and forth.
"Uh, I did it it on my first pass, actually.", she chuckled. Wendy had to turn to her other side as Mabel jumped into the air, high-fiving her.
Dipper was about to reply, but left the two to their own and retracted back into the car for the mountain of bags.
==========
"Dude, you cannot stay grumpy the whole Summer", Mabel shouted at her brother, as the twins got back in their attic double room.
"I'm not grumpy, I'm-", Dipper took a moment to think of a plausible answer "I'm just thinking what to check first tomorrow. I mean, Ford has been keeping an eye on all the anomalies, but I want to update my maps…"
"Uh-uh". Mabel replied, rolling her eyes. "Well, have a nice evening moping around, then."
"And where are you going?"
"Ka-ra-okie-dokie!", Mabel sang, dancing in place. "Want to join us?"
"Uh, no, I don't feel like…"
"Well, all the seats in my car were taken anyway."
She blew a raspberry and playfully jumped down the stairs and went outside, where Paz, Grenda and Candy have already been waiting, as Dipper watched them from the window.
"Well, who cares about social interactions?", Dipper muttered to himself, as he opened his laptop. "It's just me and you!"
He spoke to his collectible Duck-Tective Junko-bob figurine he was using as a debugging duck.
"How about we crack down that algorithm we've been working on?"
The duck remained silent.
"Yeah, sure, you are doing all the work…", he grumbled back.
But Dipper didn't have time to even look at a single line of the code when he heard a car horn outside. He walked towards the window, recognising a familiar golf cart, and a familiar person behind its wheel.
"Sup, dude! Don't tell me you thought you would be spending a Friday night alone!", Wendy shouted, honking the horn again.
"Wendy!", Dipper automatically checked if his shirt was buttoned, "What-what are you doing-"
"Get down here, nerd, I'm taking you somewhere fun."
"Oh-oh, right!"
Dipper opened the window and was half-way through climbing out of it when Wendy's concerned voice made him stop.
"Uh, are you grounded? Cos the stairs were working a few minutes ago for Mabel…"
"Oh.", Dipper pondered his action for a while. "Yeah, I just thought-cos in the movies, they, they always sneak out, and-"
Wendy chuckled.
"Come down the stairs, I don't want to have you on my conscience."
A moment later Dipper Pines found himself sitting next to Wendy, who casually dangled the keys, offering to switch.
"Er, maybe I should pass the test first…"
"You weren't so sure back when you were twelve."
"Yeah, but then I had to rescue Mabel. Where are we going?"
"Over the lake", Wendy explained, as she drove, "That's the best place to watch."
The sun settled quickly, and soon only the fireflies illuminated the empty forest road. But by the time it happened, the two arrived at their destination, with Wendy relaxing in her seat, handing Dipper his own can of soda.
"Wendy. what are we waiting f-"
His question was answered at once when the night sky was illuminated with red-and-purple fireworks, reflecting in the water, filling Dipper's entire field of view with magnificent colours.
"Pretty neat, huh?"
"Y-yeah…"
Dipper looked at Wendy's face, basked in the palette of colours, and he found himself loss for words, like so many times when he wanted to talk to her. But this time, he simply sipped his drink and let the show continue.
"I know how you feel, dude.", she suddenly spoke, "About the test."
"But you've said-"
"Yeah, I aced that one…", her face suddenly frowned, "But I flunked my college ones, I have to retake like three of them, or I'm out."
"O-oh.", Dipper swallowed loudly, "Is-is there any way I can help?"
"Know anything about statistics?", she turned her head at once.
"Sure!"
"Well then…", she leaned closer, "You help me with the numbers, I help you with parallel parking."
She smiled, and with another explosion of colours her red hair became a mane of fire with two glowing emeralds in place of her eyes.
"D-deal…", he muttered, regaining composure almost immediately, "Although, actually, I did the parallel thing perfectly, it's the-"
"Dude, not now" , she hushed him, "We'll start tomorrow".
And with that, the two relaxed in their seats and watched the show engulfing above and below them. This Summer might have fewer monsters and adventures, but somehow, Dipper knew he wouldn't complain.

Wendip Week 2022-On Four Wheels
Dipper and Wendy finds themselves scrambling to get ready for their wedding.
Written  for @wendip-week
Dipper fiddled with his tie as the car drove down the street.
“Dipper, stop fiddling with your tie, you’re gonna ruin it,” barked Pacifica.
“I just want to make sure it looks good.”
“It does look good, you’re gonna ruin it.”
“Guys”, Mabel shouted from the driver's seat, “Can we not do this today?”
“Paz started it!”
“Dipper!”
“What, it’s my wedding.”
They pulled up to the church. Neither Dipper or Wendy were really that religious but it was a Gravity Falls institution. A variety of Pines’ and Corduroy’s were standing on the lawn.
“Hope Wendy is having a better time,” Mabel mumbled to herself as her brother argued with her girlfriend.
Wendy was not, in fact, having a better time. “Will you slow down!” Wendy shouted at her driver.
Stan’s voice came over the speaker in the limo. “Who’s the one who overslept on the night before her wedding?”
Tambry, who was sitting behind Wendy trying to do her hair, said, “He has a point you know.”
“This is why I didn’t make you my maid of honor.” Wendy went back to ironying her pants. Her shirt and coat hung up on a hook. The poor bride to be was in her underwear. “Never challenge anyone in my family to a drinking game.”
The limo made another sharp turn. “Stan, where the hell did you get a limo anyway?”
“Never ask how sausage is made, kid.”

Wendip Week 2022-Friends to Lovers
Soos has a gift for Dipper
written for @wendip-week
“Dipper! My dude! Come over here.” Soos called his friend over. It had a few years since the two had seen each other. It was nice to see he hadn’t changed. Soos was nearly the best man. But when Wendy made Rose her maid of honor, they decided that it would be best if Tyrone was the best man. Dipper was glad Soos’ took the demotion to groomsmen.
“Dude, I like made you something.” He guided Dipper to a table. “This is for Wendy too, but it’s bad luck to see the bride after the wedding.”
And at the table there was a variety of pictures of Dipper and Wendy. And not just as a couple. There were pictures of back during Dipper’s first summer at Gravity Falls. It was a wide progression of his and Wendy’s relationship. From friends to best friends to a couple to true love.
Dipper started to cry. “Soos this is… thank you. Thank you so much man.” He hugged Soos.

Wendip Week 2022-Babysitting
Mabel and Pacifica prepare to watch Tyrone and Rose.
Written for @wendip-week
The reception was going on fine. Wendy and Dipper had cut the cake, tossed the bouquet (which Stan caught much to his displeasure), and the couple had their first dance. In fact they were still dancing. While the married couple danced to Disco Girl, their children were sitting at the table, stuffing their faces with wedding cake.
Their Aunt Mabel and her girlfriend Pacifica were sitting next to them. “So are you guys excited to spend the week with us!”
“You’re gonna love California!” Paz piped in.
“Can we go to the beach? I wanna swim in the ocean” Rose asked excitedly.
Mabel and Pacifica looked at each. “Well…”
“We live in northern California so the beaches are cold…”
“But you can swim all you want!” Mabel said after seeing the sad faces of her niece and nephew.
Mabel!” Paz chided her.
“What? You know I’m weak to frowns.”
At this point the newlyweds walked over to their children.
“Are you two being good to your Aunties?”
The two five-year-old's nodded their heads. “Yeah!”
“Rose is gonna freeze in the ocean!” Tyrone shouted.
Mabel blushed, but Dipper and Wendy didn’t notice. “You two have been eating too much cake, let’s go dance it off.” Wendy picked up her son while Dipper picked up his daughter, taking them for a parent child dance.

Wendip Week 2022-Movies and Chill
Wendy meets with her family on her big day
written for @wendip-week
Rose and Tyrone bounced up and down as the goofy movie played on the television. The five-year-olds were sitting on the back of their grandfather, Manly Dan Corduroy. Who was doing push ups. Of course. Both twins had their mothers red hair, while Tyrone's eyes were brown, Rose’s were green. Rose was also freckled like their mother.
Wendy walked in. Her hair was done up in a bun with a curly strand of hair running on the left side of her face. She was wearing a brilliantly white tuxedo. Instead of high heels she wore white dress shoes.
“Mommy!” Shouted the twins. They scrambled up to their mother. She picked them up and kissed them. “There’s my little maid of honor. You guys are getting big.” She groaned as she put them down.
Her father walked up to her. “So, do I look good?” There was uncharacteristically nervousness in her voice.
He hugged her. “You look beautiful. Although Nanna’s gonna pitch a fit that you didn’t wear a dress.”
“Screw her.” Wendy adjusted her jacket. “It’s my day.”

Wendip Week 2022-Looking Back
As they go for their honeymoon, Dipper and Wendy look back
written for @wendip-week
The Pines family were at the Portland airport, Wendy and Dipper needed to get the flight for their Hawaiian honeymoon.
Wendy was cleaning the faces of her children. "Remember, be good for your Aunties. Understood?"
Tyrone nodded while Rose saluted. Wendy chuckled as she kissed their foreheads.
"Me and Mom will call everyday."
“We’ll take care of the kids,” Pacifica said.
The couple hugged Paz and Mabel, then hugged Stan and Ford.
“Remember to take the silverware,” Stan advised.
“Hopefully, we won’t invoke any island curse,” Ford said.
“Well now we’ll properly will,” Wendy said dryly.”
Once on the plane, Wendy and Dipper waved to their family at the airport as the plane took off. They looked back as they got smaller and smaller as the plane got higher and higher.
“Do you think the kids will be okay with us gone for a week?”
Wendy kissed her husband. “They’ll be fine. They're strong kids.”
