Wendip Week 2024 Day 7: “...And Eventually Marry Wendy”
The Long Beach coastline gleamed in the orange sunlight. Leaning on a railing, Wendy and Dipper admired the dazzling sight, from the thousands of mirror-like windows from the skyscrapers to the shimmering water below them. Instinctively, they took hold of each other’s hand. Wendy’s diamond ring joined in the spectacle by glimmering in the evening light.
“I can’t believe we’re gonna live in Portland,” said Wendy. “A big city just like this one!”
“So the city boy gets to show the country lady life in the metropolis,” said Dipper. He put his other hand on the rail, making his wedding band also visible.
“What a reception, huh? Mabel’s speech was wild!”
“Still not as wild as hers,” said Dipper with a grin. “Remember how she tried to sneak Waddles into her wedding car?”
Wendy chuckled. “I’m still surprised my dad actually went through with ours. You saw how much he was crying during the ceremony?” said Wendy.
“I can’t blame him, giving his only daughter away,” said Dipper. “I’m still surprised he didn’t pummel me when he found out we wanted to get married.”
Wendy thought back to the day of the proposal.
“Still, marriage can be tough,” Wendy had said. “I mean, look at what happened with your parents. You’re sure about this?”
Dipper’s had an uncharacteristically certain look in his eyes. “Ever since that summer when I met you, I wanted to marry you. That has never changed, and it never will.”
Wendy’s thoughts came back to the present when Dipper said, “Oh, by the way, I reserved a time slot for the ropes course up on the sun deck. Thought you’d want me to.”
Wendy smiled wider. “You know me too well, little man.”
Dipper’s old sense of self-consciousness came through his expression. “You don’t have to rub it in.”
“Oh come on. You’re my husband now. You really think I’m not attracted to you because I’m still taller?”
“Yeah, you’re right,” said Dipper, his face relaxing again. The city became gradually smaller as the ship forged further down the Columbia River. “So, which food on the lido deck has been your favorite so far?” he asked, though he already knew the answer.
Wendy gave him a playful shove. “Dude, I can’t pick just one!”
A fit of laughter overcame both of them. It was almost a full minute before they caught their breaths. “Oh man, I never thought I’d finally tie the knot with someone,” said Wendy. “I thought it would just be one breakup after another forever.”
“That certainly won’t be how this one ends. You’re the most amazing person I’ve ever known,” said Dipper.
They began staring deep into each other’s eyes. On instinct, Dipper stood up on his toes so he could reach Wendy’s face without her needing to bend over, and Wendy happily responded to the gesture. The sun on the horizon still illuminated the whole deck as their lips met.

Wendip Week 2024, 31: Honeymoon
Wendip 8/31/24
Honeymoon
Wendy and Dipper gathered all their luggage together with the help of Mable in the back of the Shack.
“So, are you sure he’ll show up?”
Mable scowled at the air. “He’d better. I had to bribe, frame, threaten, and even murder half of the TPAES leadership to get him his job back. I also got him a watch with an AI built into it to ensure he knows the right time to show up.”
Wendy looked at her new sister-in-law with surprise, fear, and admiration.
“Wow, Mable, that sounds like a massive operation.”
She rolled her eyes. “I was the only kindergarten teacher at my school for two years thanks to COVID. Compared to that, this was a piece of cake.”
ZAP
Blendin Blandin appeared in a flash of light. He was just as the twins remembered from their adventures, looking for the time pirates' treasure. The only difference was a watch on his left wrist with an AI-generated copy of Mable’s voice emanating from it.
“You have arrived at the Mystery Shack on August 31st, 2024. Your next task is to pick up Wendy and Dipper Pines and drop them off at their honeymoon destination.”
Mable waved at Blendin, uncaring about how he was just three yards away from her.
“Hi Blendin! How are you doing? Have you gotten in trouble with your bosses? Is the watch working?”
Blendin waved back at the energetic young woman.
“Hi, Mable. The watch has helped me do my job so well that I’m up for a promotion!”
He then turned to Dipper and Wendy, who were holding hands.
“And here are the newlyweds! I am so happy you two got together. Are you ready for your honeymoon?”
The couple nodded at him.
“This is so great! A honeymoon through time and space! Where and when are we going first? One of the world’s fairs? Vegas to see the Rat Pack? BABA live?”
Blendin shook his head.
“None of those. I’m taking you to your private time island!”
Dipper nodded in understanding while Wendy looked confused.
“What or when is a time island?”
Dipper then realized something. “Right, you weren't here for that adventure.
“It’s not a time or space but a place between time and space. Our lives flow on a river of time. And every choice we make is like traveling down a new and unique branch of that river. If you could see the fourth dimension, you could see the entirety of human history sprawled like a river delta. Infinite lives and parallel universes coexist. And now we’re about to step out of the river onto a secret hidden island wedged between the currents of time!”
Wendy looked at Dipper in awe, while Blendin just looked annoyed.
“Hay! You stole that from me!”
“And you stole it from a movie you watched in prison. Anyway, is this the same one we fought those time pirates on?”
Blendin took out a map from one of his pockets and began to read it. “It's the same one. It’s already locked to prevent people from getting to it without the key or someone inside sending coordinates to follow. You should be safe there for the week.”
Dipper sighed in relief while Wendy’s curiosity was peaked.
“Ok, you are telling me everything about that adventure. Why is this the first I’ve heard about it?”
Mable groaned. “Because due to messy time travel logic and technical difficulties with the time tape, all three of us remember all 34 ways that adventure could go. Thinking about it too much gives us a headache.”
Dipper nodded as he hoisted his luggage up. “She’s right. I remember challenging a knight, going to slay a dragon, looking for a wizard in the dungeon, going into mines, sneaking onto a train, chatting up outlaws, getting thrown into time prison, and joining a space race all at the same time!”
“Not to mention seeing an axolotl after shooting ourselves into a time vortex.”
Dipper nodded at his sister. “That too. Also, I did try to tell you about it. Remember when I showed you that sack of infinite treasure? That was from this adventure.”
Wendy nodded in understanding. “Right, I said it would be better if I didn’t know where it came from. If you got arrested, I wouldn’t get called out of surgery on the stand. Also, time travel makes my head hurt.” She then shot him a grin. “But since we're married and you can’t call a spouse to testify on the other in court, you can tell me all about it now! As for the headache about time travel, I’ve been through enough weird stuff that something like that won’t phase me.”
Given that the day before the wedding involved fighting a monster that was somehow every single holiday mascot and none of them simultaneously, the twins conceded the point.
“Anyway, are you all ready?”
The three nodded, prompting Blendin to pull his time tape. Instead of letting it retract fully, he grabbed it with his fingers and stopped it partway.
ZAP
The group found themselves in a glowing blue tunnel of energy and light. Clocks and calendars float past them. When they looked closely at the walls, they saw events of history play out before them. Wendy saw the day the twins first came to Gravity Falls. Dipper saw Soos playing patty cake with one of his kids. Mable saw the day the Wendip kids were born.
Mable then quickly and discreetly stood before it to block everyone else’s views while taking notes. When it came time to bet on the gender and number of kids, she would rake in the cash!
In front of them was a round door painted with a skull and crossbones and an ancient keyhole in the middle.
“One second, just let me unlock this for you.”
He inserted the key he had taken out earlier and opened the door. He then entered, with the other following close behind.
ZAP
The group found themselves on a large wooden deck connected to a cabin built on a tropical island.
“Wow! Where did this come from?”
Blendin smiled and raised his hand.
“Me. After moving out with my fortune, I built a vacation house. I spend my winters here and rent out the rest of the time. You have it for the next week. Want the tour?”
Blendin then spent the next hour showing the group around the house. Despite being the size of a small cabin on the outside, it was as large as the Shack on the inside. There was a fully stocked kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, a movie theater that doubled as a gaming room, and even a massage parlor with massage robots.
A deck surrounded the entire building. On one end, a stairway led upwards to a platform that allowed those entering through the time door to walk straight through without worrying about falling six feet into the sand. A hot tub, a grill, and some rocking chairs were built into the deck. Each was designed to be moved around the deck so you could enjoy any island view while doing any task.
On the shore of the island, there was a dock leading into the ocean. At the base was a small shed with fishing supplies, life vests, and snorkeling equipment. Two small rowboats were tied to it.
“Hay, how far out is it safe to row in those things? And how deep is it safe to dive?”
Belndin shrugged. “Just stay within sight of the island, and you will be fine. I don’t know what will happen if you sail further out than that, and I don’t want to find out. As for the diving, keep a rope tied to the boat to guide yourselves back.”
The two spouses nodded in agreement with his advice.
“Time set aside for Dipper, Wendy, and Mable will expire in 5 minutes.”
“All right, that should be everything! The phone in the kitchen is a direct line to me, and there is a copy of my number on the fridge if you have any questions. I’ll seal this island off after I and Mable leave. Enjoy your honeymoon!”
Mable then wrapped the pair up in a massive hug.
“Your luggage is already in the master bedroom for you to unpack. Bye, guys. Have fun, and don’t tell me anything about it for my sanity!”
“MABLE!”
Blendin and Mable walked through the portal, leaving the two love birds alone.
“So, what do you want to do now, Wendy?”
When he turned to her, he found that she had already begun to disrobe while moving towards him with a predatory gaze.
“I’m going to enjoy my husband.”
Dipper gulped as he began to understand what “fear-roused” meant.
Dinner
The couple sat on the porch together, enjoying the spaghetti Dipper made for them. Both wore robes to fight off the wind chill as the sun set in front of them.
“Hay Dipper?”
“Yes?”
“If we’re outside the normal flow of time and space, how is the sun setting?”
…
“I have no idea. I’ll ask either Blendin or Ford when we get back.”
“Thanks. It’s not urgent, but it will keep bothering me until it gets answered.”
Dipper let out a little chuckle. “I understand, though a little worried that we’ve been married 48 hours and you have already picked up that trait from me.”
The two returned to their silent enjoyment of the dinner and sunset.
“So, about that time travel adventure…”
“Ok, it happened during our first summer at Gravity Falls. Mable and I were walking down the road, arguing over which choices mattered, when we came across Blendin digging many holes in the ground. He then asked us for help finding the treasure of some rogue time agents called Time Pirates, who used their time travel tech to rob all of history. They then buried an infinite amount of treasure on a time island, THIS time island. Mable and I said no thank you to helping him in one time line and spent the rest of the day bored, regretting our choice. In another timeline, we decided to help him and travel through time.”
Dipper then proceeded to tell her, “The Curse of the Time Pirates Treasure.” He started with the portion in the old west, then the futuristic section, and was almost done with the medieval portion when Wendy interrupted him.
“Wait! There was a princess that looked just like me. And was willing to marry 12-year-old you?”
He nodded. “Don’t ask how that was possible, but it was like someone cloned 15-year-old you and dropped her in the middle of midlevel Europe.”
She stared into the sunset with a shocked expression.
“Wow! That’s wild. So how did the marriage go from what you remember?”
HE shrugged. “Pretty well, we were more like best friends that lived in the same building together doing the kinds of things we would do in that situation. Make the surfs form human pyramids, wear silly units, make vague but accurate prophecies about the 20th century, and solve medieval mysteries together. My memory only goes on for a few months before it gets too blurry.”
She sighed in relief. “That’s good to hear; I was afraid I would need to steal Blendin's time tape and beat up younger me for being a pedophile.”
After that fun detour, Dipper continued his story by explaining what happened after finding the key through the saloon, the dragon, or the space race. Wendy was entranced with the description of the fight itself.
“Wow, I can’t believe I didn’t get to be a part of that adventure.”
“don’t worry; you’ll be part of every adventure I go on for the rest of our lives.”
“Except adventures to find me presents. I would like those to be surprised.”
Dipper conceded the point and went back to observing the sunset. Eventually, he let out a yawn.
“Ok, I’m tired. Time to go to bed.”
Dipper got up and walked over to the door leading to the bedroom, with his wife close behind.
“To bed or sleep?”
He stopped and shot Wendy a naughty grin.
“What do you think?”
With a returned grin, Mrs. Pines tackled her husband through the open door and onto the floor, kissing him all the way and all over.
With that, the sunset on the first day of the rest of their lives.

Wendip Week 2024: 8/30 Trama
Wendip 8/30/24
Trama
“Come on, dork! Last one, there is a rotten egg!”
“Been there, done that, Wendy!”
The two friends ran up the driveway towards the front doors of McGucket Mansion. The 13-year-old Dipper took full advantage of his doubling in height over the school year to keep up with Wendy, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Cordery.
She grabbed the front door knob a full 5 seconds before Dipper even reached the front step.
“Great job, Dipper. Last summer, you wouldn’t have made it halfway up the driveway before I grabbed this.”
Dipper was hunched over and panting next to her.
“Thanks, Wendy. Puberty and track-and-field have both helped a lot. Not to mention the motivation of running away from things trying to eat me.”
Wendy patted him on the shoulder before ringing the doorbell. As the two waited for McGucket to come down and greet them, Wendy realized something.
“Just to double check, when you said you ‘been there, done that’ with being a rotten egg…”
“No, I wasn’t turned into a literal rotten egg. I meant I have been last place in races before.”
She nodded in relief. “Thought so, but you can’t be too careful in our world.”
CREAK
The door opened to reveal Fiddleford McGucket standing before them. He looked much better with his cast removed, his teeth brushed, his beard coated, his clothes not matted, and his posture straight.
“Well, butter my biscuit, what are you two doing here? Did you need a robot to destroy the school? Because if you do, I will have to decline. My building things for revenge, causing fear, and indescribably destroying everything for little to no legitimate reason are long behind me. Now, I make stuff for the US government.”
Wendy and Dipper both looked like they wanted to say something but decided that this was something they should leave alone.
“We’re here because Pacifica is forced to go to a fancy gala tonight. Her dad insists she brings a specific combination of dress and jewelry, and she thinks she left the requested necklace in her bedroom. Can we go up and get it?”
McGucket spat in a nearby spittoon before answering. “Absolutely! Feel free to take anything and everything from her room. Given that the only people living here are me and Tat, you would be doing us a favor. Though I have to ask, why isn’t she doing the asking?”
Wendy rolled her eyes. “Her dad booked her for dress fittings, hair dressings, make-up, refresher courses on behavior, and an entire rehearsal before the event.”
McGucket just sighed. “Somedays, I wished I had one of my robotic rampages aimed at him instead of the rest of the town.” He then walked in and waved for the two teens to follow. “I think her room’s somewhere on the second floor in the North Wing. The one with the door carved from wood from now extinct trees with her name embedded into the door and lined with diamonds.”
Wendy and Dipper rolled their eyes at the description.
“Of course. Trust the Northwests to spend more money decorating their houses than the country puts into literally anything.”
The two then gave McGucket a little wave as they climbed the stairs and headed north. As they moved down the hall, they caught sight of all the expensive pictures of the Northwests along the sides.
“How has your first week of summer been so far?”
Dipper smiled at her. “It’s great! I get to do some exploring with Ford and Stan, I’ve been learning how Soos and Stan run the Shack, I’ve gotten to hang out with you and your friends, and I’ve only had three things try to kill me, so far! The only thing that would make this summer better would be if there were another overarching mystery to solve.”
Wendy smiled at her friend. “Only three? I’ve had things try to kill me every day! You need to up your game, Dipper. Do you want to challenge the Manotaurs after we drop this stuff off? They still think they can beat me at anything.”
Dipper then got a devilish glint in his eyes. “A chance to see a bunch of hyper-aggressive, extra-macho, Manley men get humiliated by a teenage girl? Count me in! How about we invite Grenda also? That would be-“
The two stopped when they realized what room they walked into.
The tapestry room.
It was a large room with a free-standing wall in the middle. The edges were covered in the Northwets' collection of tapestries laid out with the sole purpose of showing off how rich the owners were. There were classic medieval ones, modern ones, ones they made themselves to show off their history, and even one depicting an axolotl in a top hat.
Their rarest and most expensive one was in the middle of the room, on the free-standing wall, facing right at them. It depicted a grey triangle with a glowing red eye floating in a pitch-black sky. Below it, two people were bowing to it while an inferno raged in the background. The ground was either covered in bones or made from the bones of countless victims.
Scholars had debated for decades what it meant, but it was apparent to those who were in Gravity Falls in 2013.
Bill Cipher.
Dipper looked on in fear at the image, the horrors he had experienced coming back to him.
Wendy wasn't doing much better. If anything, she was doing worse.
Her breathing began to become erratic, and her eyes dilated. She backed away from the offending image like a snake about to bite. Her limbs shook so much that she fell to the ground while trying to back up, resorting to crawling backward.
The thump of her hitting the ground broke Dipper out of his shock. Turning to face her, he realized what was going on.
“Wendy? Can you hear me?”
Wendy gave no response and continued to back up. As soon as she was past the doorway to the room, Dipper closed the doors to block her sight of the accursed object.
“It’s gone now, Wendy. You're safe now.”
She looked at the doors like they were invisible, hugging her legs to her chest as she rocked back and forth.
“Wendy? Breathe and focus on my voice. Can you do that for me?” She slightly nodded as her eyes remained locked on what was no longer there.
“Can you name something you can see?”
She kept staring forward but was able to mutter out a response.
“The wooden doors?”
Dipper smiled from his position a few feet away on his knees.
“Good, now, what something you can touch?”
She was still looking at the door, but not as intently as before.
“My trapper hat.”
Wendy wasn’t hugging herself as tightly now and seemed more present now.
“Good job Wendy. How about something you can hear?”
“I can hear your voice.”
Her breathing began to slow down to normal.
“You're doing great, Wendy. Name something you can smell.”
She was answering a lot more confidently than before. More like her usual self. “The redwood floors.”
“Last one for good measure. Name one thing you can taste.”
She reached into her pocket and pulled a skittle before plopping it into her mouth.
“Artificial flavorings labeled as orange.”
She and Dipper shared a smile.
“You back?”
“I’m back and would like to not be near that room anymore. Can you help me up?”
Dipper nodded and held out a hand for her to grab. The two walked down the hall until they reached one of the multiple sitting rooms around the house. Wendy sat in one of the fluffier chairs and let herself sink into the cushions. She closed her eyes and imagined that she was sitting on a cloud.
“How are you doing?”
Wendy took a few more breaths before responding.
“Better. Sorry about shutting down like that. Where did you learn that trick?”
Dipper’s face grew conflicted before he answered, “Let’s just say that you aren’t the only one who has reacted like that to reminders of ‘Never-Mind-All-That.’ I’ve had my fair share of breakdowns when I first got back home. I locked myself in my room for hours after I saw Mom eating nachos.”
Wendy frowned at that.
“Yeah, the school stopped selling them for the same reason. We also had to change the traditional thrones the homecoming king and queen sat on with stools, banned balloons, and it’s now a town law that you can’t call anything or anyone Bill or Billy.”
Dipper sighed at that.
“At least you can talk to people about what happened. Mable and I only have each other. If we talked to a psychiatrist, they would either place us in a institution or ban us from ever returning here. Same with our parents.”
Wendy frowned at Dipper. “I am so sorry you and Mable had to go through that. We might have the ‘Never-Mind-All-That’ act, but that is more about not talking to outsiders about it. We can still talk to each other.”
The two continued to sit in silence for a minute before continuing.
“So, are you okay if I talk about it, Dipper?”
He looked at her worriedly but nodded. “If you want to. I don’t want to make you do anything.”
She gave him a reassuring smile.
“Thanks, but I think I would like to.”
She took a deep breath before beginning.
“Seeing Bill depicted there was bad, but it was the tapestries that really got me. Being turned into a 2D object, feeling what it was like to be 2D, seeing what was happening, and being unable to blink or turn away.”
She stopped to look into the distance before continuing.
“It was terrible. I know it wasn't that long, but it felt like days. I don’t know if that was Bill’s doing or just the stress of being there.”
He responded after she was quiet enough for Dipper to think she was done talking.
“I’m so sorry you had to go through that, Wendy.” He then gave a dark chuckle. “It’s funny. I am thrilled sneaking into a dragon's cave and don’t bat an eye at the dozens of skeletons lying on the ground, but the second I look at a chip, I freeze. While you are willing to fight every manotaur at once and come out top, you can be stopped with a rug on a wall. What a pair we make.”
Wendy returned his dark smile with her own.
“We need all the therapy, don’t we?”
Dipper just nodded. “All the therapy and another bonfire for that tapestry.”
Wendy let out a dark chuckle when McGucket walked into the room.
“Well, howdy kids, what are you doing here?”
Wendy and Dipper turned to McGucket, whose cheer evaporated when he saw the looks on their face.
“What happened?”
“The tapestry room.”
McGucket cringed before collapsing into an open seat by the door.
“Dang, nab it! I am so sorry you two had to see that. I would have gotten rid of it as soon as I moved in, but I can’t bear to enter that room. The few people I’ve tried to talk to about getting rid of it reacted like the two of you did, I reckon.”
The three traumatized people just sat in that room in silence before Dipper’s eyes widened in realization.
“I know someone that could tear that thing down.”
LATER
Stanley Pines shoved the offending tapestry into a sack.
“Ok, are there any other things you want me to burn in this house? We can repeat the Bill-Fire we did last summer if there is enough.”
McGucket nodded with a toothy grin. “Yes sir-re! I’ll show you around and point it out. Maybe we can invite Preston and take pictures of his expression of burning so much expensive stuff.”
Stan got an evil expression on his face. “How about video also? Then we can sell the recording and images around town. I can think of dozens who would pay big bucks for that.”
As the two men walked out of the tapestry room and closed the door behind them, Wendy stared silently at the closed door.
“Hay, are you okay, Wendy?”
Wendy looked to the side and her best friend. She sighed and put on a small, sad smile.
“No, but I’m getting there.”

Wendip Week 2024 Day 5: “Racing on the Ropes”
Old Jim’s Rope Course, just a hop and a skip from Lake Gravity Falls, bustled with adventurous customers despite the summer heat. Both strapped into harnesses, Dipper and Wendy navigated the rope and wood structures that connected the platforms. Wendy confidently forged ahead, while Dipper struggled to stay close enough behind her.
“Come on, slowpoke!” Wendy teased.
“I haven’t been on this course dozens of times like you have,” said Dipper with a playful tone.
“Sure you’re not just afraid of heights?” said Wendy.
Dipper grinned. “I’ve been on the Mystery Shack roof several times before! You know that!”
They both laughed. As Wendy came to one of the platforms at the corner of the course, she could spot Dipper’s great-uncles below. Stan argued with the person at the booth, supposedly about the cost of the tickets, while Ford seemed entirely engrossed with writing something in his journal. Mabel, Candy, and Grenda were just starting the course, while Robbie and Tambry were putting on their harnesses.
Wendy stopped in her tracks when she saw the latter couple share a kiss. Dipper, who was finally catching up, also stopped on the platform next to her and noticed what she was looking at.
“Is it still weird that your ex-boyfriend is dating one of your best friends now?” he asked.
“A little bit, but I’m glad Tambry’s happy and Robbie’s become better since dating her. Plus,” Wendy started pounding her sternum and spoke in a lower voice like her father, “a Corduroy must be tough.”
“No one needs to be tough all the time though,” said Dipper in a thoughtful tone. “We can talk about it if you’d like.”
“How about after we finish the course?” suggested Wendy.
“Sounds like a plan!” said Dipper.
Wendy jokingly pushed Dipper’s hat over his eyes. “Have fun eating my dust!” she said.
Dipper chuckled before readjusting his hat, and going after her.
“Not too fast up there!” Ford shouted at them, finally torn from his writings.
“Are you kidding? Go faster!” yelled Stan in response. “If you break a bone, we can sue this place!” Ford sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

Wendip Week 2024 Day 6: “Aftermath of Another Breakup”
Wendy’s vision was so blurred by tears that she could barely see the dark road ahead of her. “How could I have been so stupid?" she thought. The pit in her stomach bore deeper than the bottomless one near the Mystery Shack. She had broken up with several guys before, but this hurt the worst.
Robbie had been her friend for years. But he just couldn’t be honest with her. Putting secret “mind controlling” messages was one thing, but lying about writing that song that made her heart flutter? Not only that, but Dipper was so insensitive. “Now that your night is free?” It wasn’t like I had less homework! “I thought he was better than that,” she thought. Her breath shook as the lights from the little town below came into view.
A familiar, somewhat squeaky voice rung just loud enough to register in her ear. Gradually, it became louder until the words became distinct. “Wait!” it called. Her boots stopped in the dust and she turned on the spot. A small silhouette became unmistakable.
While Wendy had been trudging her way back to the Corduroy home, Dipper was almost sprinting. Wendy’s eyebrows furrowed. “Didn’t I tell you to leave me alone?” she said.
Dipper had a regretful look. “It was wrong for me to say that to you. You’re dealing with losing Robbie as your boyfriend, and I just made you feel worse. I’m so sorry.”
Wendy felt her anger toward him soften a little bit, but the pain she felt remained. “Glad you understand that,” she said coolly.
“If you really want me to leave you be, I will,” said Dipper. He started to turn away, but Wendy’s next words stopped him on the spot.
“Was there anything else you had to say?” Despite saying this, Wendy didn’t want to look Dipper in the eye, so she focused her gaze on the lights of tiny Gravity Falls. Tears continued to stream down her face.
“Um, I guess the reason why I asked if you wanted to go bowling or something was because I wanted to help you take your mind off your breakup.” Dipper’s voice sounded even more worried, as if he feared that he would hurt Wendy’s feelings further. “But I should have given you more time to process everything. If you ever want to talk about it, I’d be more than willing to listen.”
Wendy glanced back toward Dipper. He was looking down at the dark, powdery ground.
“I really care about you,” said Dipper, his voice starting to get shaky. “Hurting you is the last thing I ever want to do. I hope you’ll be able to forgive me for being so stupid.”
Feeling her face starting to dry, Wendy looked around and spotted a nearby fallen tree. She gestured for Dipper to follow her and to sit next to her on the pine log.
“I actually do want to talk about it,” she admitted. Dipper’s sympathetic frown turned into a slight, hopeful smile.

Wendip Week 2024, 8/29: Shenanigans
Wendip 8/29/24
Shenanigans
Wendy and Dipper were sleeping in their bed in the Shack’s attic, peacefully sleeping as the morning light showed through the window and gently created up their blanket-covered forms. The nearby alarm clock said 7, but neither was hurrying to get up. It’s summer vacation, and what’s the point if you can’t sleep in?
CRASH
BANG
BOOM
“Tag! You're it!”
Of course, when you are the parents of 4-year-old twins in Gravity Falls, peace and quiet are impossible outside your dreams.
“Time to get up, Dipper.”
“Nothing’s on fire yet, and I hear nothing about blood. Soos is down there, so it’s fine.”
“Don’t touch that laser, Tyrone! Stay away from the monster plant, Tylor! Peter, how’s breakfast coming along?”
“The pancakes have come to life and are trying to eat me, the milk is acting like it’s in zero-Gs, the fruit sprouted vine tentacles and is turning the kitchen into a forest, and the bacon combined into a zombie cow that mom is now fighting off with a rolling pin!”
Dipper just hugged his wife closer. “See, everything is under control.”
The two then drifted back into dreamland as chaos ravaged the kitchen.
Breakfast table
After getting ready for the day, the Dipper and Wendy walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, where the rest of the family sat at the shack’s table that morning.
Tyler and Tyrone were the next generations of Pine’s twins, and as part of a ritual to keep the Fay from using their names to steal them away, they were given similar-sounding names with identical initials. Tyler’s red hair was in pigtails, and she held onto a stuffed axolotl she named “Danny.” Tyron, on the other hand, had hair that looked like his sister cut it with a lawn mower, which is what happened yesterday when a passing comet made them temporarily invincible.
Soos, Melody, and their son Peter sat at the table next to them. Soos’s face and shirt were covered with marks of a food fight, and his arms had some bandaids over some minor injuries he received keeping the kids occupied while his wife and son were making breakfast. Melody was nursing a black eye from a lucky kick from the zombie cow and had a slight limb from when she had to kick the rolling pin she dropped into the zombie’s head.
Fifteen-year-old Peter, the youngest of Soos and Melody’s seven kids was still wearing his favorite fire, bullet, knife, bomb, teeth, lightning, and dog-proof vest from when he made breakfast. He would put it in the laundry before putting on his business one before volunteering at the animal shelter. Hopefully, they could get those dragon hatchlings back to their mom soon.
As everyone began to dig into the food before them, Dipper couldn’t help but look around.
“Say, where is everyone else?”
“Abuleta and the Stan bros are at the bingo hall to deal with a new Summerwein Trickster beginning to form from their toffee peanuts.”
Melody nodded at her husband’s response before continuing herself. “As for our kids, Simon got abducted by aliens while getting the mail, Paul tripped onto a roller-skate and fell into the bottomless pit, Andrew got hit by a beam from a size-shifting crystal a bird was carrying before being picked up by a hawktopus, James is probably still with his boyfriend Smasheraur, John was grabbed by an entity in the mirror and dragged into it, and Sam-orc-rai kidnaped Philip.”
Dipper was about to respond when the coffee pot started beeping. He then poured some coffee for himself and the other adults.
“So I should make another pot for them, but not pour them cups yet?”
“Exactly. They should start showing up soon, though.”
A small yelp followed by a crash was heard from the bathroom to prove Melody right. Soon after that, John walked into the room. After a quick hello and a cup of coffee, he sat down and piled breakfast onto his plate.
Tyrone and Tyler had finished their breakfast enough to focus on their parents.
“When are we going to the museum?”
“Yeah! I wanna see the dinosaurs!”
Dipper reached over and patted Tyler on the head. “Buddy, you rode on the back of a dragon yesterday. Do you want to see some bones?”
Tyler pouted at her dad. “Dragons are not dinosaurs; dinosaurs are cooler!”
Dipper chuckled. “The museum doesn’t open until 10. We still have some time before we can go. How about seeing your Aunts Mable and Pacifica and your cousins Terry and Mat?”
Tyrone was nodding his head like a bobblehead. “And Waddles! And McG! And Aunt Candy! And Aunt Grenda! And Uncle Marcus! And Aunt Tambry! And Uncle Robbie! And Cousin Alex! And Mr. Gleeful! And Blendin! And-“
“Hold on there, Tyrone! We don’t have time to see everyone we know in town before the museum opens. Besides, we’ll be here all summer. We can see some of them later.”
Dipper nodded at his wife. “She’s right, and Grenda and Marcus are currently in Switzerland helping with-“
“Cheesemaking?”
As the twins descended into giggles, Dipper gave them a small sigh. “Maybe, but they are also helping with a very big meeting with some very smart people about how to use money to help people. They should be back by Summerwein, though.”
The two cheered at the reminder of their second favorite holiday.
“All right, now that you're done with your breakfast, how about I play with you while the others eat up and your cousins pile in?”
The twins nodded and jumped out of their chairs, grabbing their mom’s hands and pulling her into the living room.
Dipper smiled at them as they left before turning back to the rest of the table.
“Just to double check, the curse Egyptian mummy was sent back? I don’t want a repeat of the last time I was there.”
John nodded before reaching into his hair and pulling out a small shard of glass that had gotten stuck during his bathroom misadventure. “I loaded it onto the truck and took it to the airport last night. It should be on a plane to Egypt first thing tomorrow morning.” He then turned to his dad. Did you remember to call the Egyptian government to warn them about it?”
Soos smiled. “Sure did, John-bone. I made sure the Prime Minister knew to return that mummy to his daddy’s tomb immediately and to seal it up nice and tight.”
After that, they continued to talk about the day's plans while Wendy distracted the kids, and the rest of Ramerez’s brood wandered in.
Gravity Falls History Musume
As soon as the doors opened, Tyler and Tyrone rushed toward the dinosaurs and the Northwest room, respectively.
“Mommy-son bonding day?”
“Daddy-Daughter bonding day.”
The parents kissed quickly before splitting off to cover the two kids.
Dipper and Tyler
As soon as Dipper got to his daughter, he grabbed her and lifted her before putting her on his shoulder.
“Can you see better now?”
“Yeah! Thanks, Daddy!” She then frowned a little. “Why doesn’t mommy do this inside?”
“Because she’s afraid that with her height, you’ll end up banging your head on the ceiling. Even if you wore a hard hat, you could still end up breaking the ceiling, and the museum doesn't want a new skylight yet.”
Tyler then began to giggle, soon finding her giggles being mimicked by the Stegosaurus.
“Hay Daddy! McGucket made the dinosaurs giggle!”
Dipper looked at the head of the Stegasaurus, its jaw moving in time with the laughter. He then looked at the sign before it to see if it had any moving parts, as was the local law, to make spotting possessions easier.
After seeing that it wasn't supposed to move, Dipper signed, stepped back to sit Tyler on the floor, and placed both hands on her shoulders.
“Hay Tyler, did I mention that McGucket had a robot dinosaur that can talk installed?”
Her eyes widened in amazement. “Where?”
“Over by the bathrooms. Why don’t you look while I do a check-up on this one?”
She instantly ran off toward the bathroom, leaving Dipper to pull out the lightsaber Ford had made as a wedding gift to him.
It had a blade that could be adjusted in length from one foot to three feet and in width from half an inch to two inches. The temperature was hot enough to rival plasma cutters, but thanks to some magnetic shielding, the heat didn’t set anything else on fire. Said magnetic shielding and heat also helped the blade deflect bullets fired at the wield, which Dipper had discovered on his honeymoon when the time pirates returned.
He smiled as he ignited it. Maybe he should go back to the Time Island soon? He and Wendy were thinking about maybe having more kids, and what better place to make more than where they made the first batch?
As the stegosaurus walked off the stage toward Dipper, flesh began covering the bones. Before Dipper's eyes, the entire dinosaur before him turned from an animated skeleton to a living dinosaur once more. If it weren’t for the glowing eyes, human laughter, and flaming spikes on its tail, Dipper would have thought it came from the amber caves in the mines instead of the cursed or possessed skeleton it was.
When Robbie and Tambry walked into the room with their kid Alex, they decided to try the Northwest room instead.
Wendy and Tyrone.
Wendy and Tyrone happily walk through the museum section dedicated to Northwest’s family legacy. Pacifica put a lot of effort into ensuring it was accurate and not another propaganda piece that made her family look all-powerful and benevolent.
Tyrone didn’t care for that and just liked looking at the little mechanical puppet shows McGucket and Mable worked to reenact said historical events.
Wendy kept a close eye on the puppets in case they decided to rise and overthrow their human oppressors or got possessed by the souls of those the Northwests wronged seeking revenge. There was also the chance that both would happen, but when they did, the two sides usually ended up in a small-scale war, wiping each other out. Their banding together to try and take over the town had only happened once since the booths were made compared to the dozens of times for the other possibilities.
“Look, Mommy! The goat is glowing red and chanting!”
Hun, it looks like a demonic invasion. That’s a new one for a Sunday.
She then tapped Tyrone’s shoulder and pointed to a bathroom.
“Hay, I just remembered that McGucket said he had a robot dinosaur that can talk installed near the bathrooms?”
Tyrone’s eyes lit up as he raced to the bathroom as fast as his legs could.
When the door closed, Wendy reached into her large bag of childcare supplies and fingered the hatches she had stored there.
Let's see, normal, cold iron, silver - there’s the holy one!
Wendy then pulled out the small hatchet made by forging meteoric iron ore mined from consecrated ground by a priest, cooled in holy water, and having the names of all twelve apostles etched into the blade's sides. The shaft was similarly hewn from a tree that grew and was cut down on consecrated ground, and Jeremiah 51:20 caved onto it. The pommel of the shaft had a bone from Saint Joan of Arc embedded into it.
It was a pain to get, but the week spent hunting down those twelve demons so the pope could stop the apocalypse was worth it.
The small mechanical goat tore itself free from the display and grew as large as a horse. Wings sprouted from its back, claws sprang from its hoves, and fire bellowed from its mouth. It turned to look Wendy in the eye, with the two standing ready for battle.
When the Valentino family walked into the room, they all decided to get ice cream instead of checking out the museum that day.
Lunchtime
The family sat in Greasey with a plan to celebrate their victory with waffles. Sure, Dipper had a nasty gash on his arm, while Wendy had a broken rib, but in spite of those minor injuries, they had still been able to defeat the two creatures without anyone else getting hurt and with minimum property damage.
After their epic battles, they called Ford and asked him to examine the remains and figure out what had happened while Stan did the repairs.
Tyrone and Tyler both had a blast with the talking dinosaur, which answered any and all questions the four-year-olds had about dinosaurs and robots for two straight hours. The dinosaur also altered its appearance between several forms of dinosaurs every fifteen minutes to help keep the kids interested.
When Susan walked over to take their orders, she looked over them curiously.
“Well, don’t you two look like you have been through the wringer?”
The two parents looked at each other before answering.
“Not really; it’s been a boring day so far.”
“Just to check, the confetti waffles don’t have actual confetti in them? I have had bad experiences with Mable’s cooking.”
