❔ :)
i can't believe you sent this after i deleted the prompt but i'll allow it for you 👀
rosita or sherry for braeden. these are two characters i can see having a similar job to her in a supernatural world. sherry is a vigilante for higher in her main verse and rosita is an arms trainer, so either would fit in a tw verse. i think rosita's verse right now says she's a hunter but i kind of see her more as a chris/allison hunter in the way that she fights along side the supernatural instead of against them. but she'd probably sell weapons + train people on them in a verse like that. also either of their energies would just match braeden so well!
iris for liberty. i think they would make lovely friends. i don't really have a supernatural verse figured out for iris but the broadstrokes of her canon is that her father is a biochemist + geneticist and a literal genuis and she spent her life trying to follow in his footsteps as he worked to find a cure for the zombie infection, so much so that she basically doesn't allow herself to do anything else. she's a really good artist and she loves it but she never allows herself to just love it simply because she convinces herself it's a waste of time and she needs to be doing something more important. she eventually realizes that she's never lived her life in the present and is too focused on the future and decides to leave to experience the world and in the end, finds her purpose being a leader in the apocalypse. obviously not all relevant in a more modern / supernatural world, but! there are still ways i could parallel it, i just think these two would be fun.
alden for isaac. again no specifics, it just makes sense to me.
side note to say you just posted your other blog while i'm doing this so i'm throwing them in too!
hayden for hope. i am literally always thinking about the potential with this relationship. also hayden for scott for that matter, i am constantly upset that she had an entire arc about needing to trust scott by her own standards and not just because her boyfriend told her to, and she was his first bitten beta who consented to it, and all that build up on both sides for them to never interact afterwards :( with you being mostly post series, i think it’d be fun for hayden to come back someday later on and catch up. my post series verse has always been her building her own pack wherever she went and would obviously be taking so much influence from scott specifically. also would definitely have kept in touch with him over the years, asking for advice, giving him updates, etc.
hope for claire. i don’t know claire but i know some vague stuff about them from over the years and i think this would work!! hope is a genius but she doesn’t know it / isn’t really aware of it. she’s basically a bored gifted kid in the way that she acts out / causes so much trouble simply because she’s not being challenged.
taissa for isobel. i don’t know isobel either but some of the stuff i do know about her tells me that this could be a fun pairing. taissa is someone who needs control so therefore she is so against the supernatural & believing in it -- but she’s created an alter for herself out of trauma and subconsciously, does believe in the supernatural.
viktor for any roswell muse just because i think it’s funny he’s technically an alien and doesn’t realize it.
mabel for fiona. simply all i have to say is let them kiss maybe. mabel is a true crime podcaster + an artist and i don’t know how that works with fiona exactly but just trust me<3. also maybe jayme or magna for fiona, i think they would get along well. jayme’s a superhero and a crime stopper but actively participates in crime and basically doesn’t give a shit about anything. also knows what it’s like to have way too many siblings. magna was a waitress pre-apocalypse so maybe magna works at fiona’s restaurant. alden would be fun with fiona too.

Ephemeral part one
Warning: Heavy angst. Like heavy. Depression. Suicidal reader. Panic attack. Not eating. Drinking and pot as coping mechanism. A lot of crying. Gore. Someone gives reader a bath. HENDERSON READER (unfortunately for this one it seemed to be the easiest to write so I apologize to my beautiful poc readers out there). Reader is Dustin’s older (19) sister.
An: I’m so sorry for this one. It’ll almost definitely be the only “cannon” related fic I write. Proceed with caution. Also I have a much happier fic lined up coming soon. I’M sorry this didn’t come out last night I ended up coming up with an ending that completely changed it so I had to do some rewriting. Love you sweethearts ❤️🔥
First person
A scream tore through my throat as I watched the bats attack Eddie. Their teeth tore into his flesh pulling out bloody pieces of him. I forced my legs to move dragging Dustin with me despite the damage donee to his leg and the wounds to my right arm. By the time wereached Eddie the bats had already fallen to the ground seemingly dead. I fell to the ground pulling Eddie’s head into my lap.
“What did you do Eddie?”
“I didn’t run this time right?”
“You’re gonna be okay we’re gonna get you out of here and back home okay?”
“Okay.”
“Stay with me okay you stay with me Eddie please.”
Sobs wracked my body as I felt my body lurch forward. The upside down slowly fades into my darkened bedroom the bats and vines disappearing into blankets and pillows. My chest heaved heart thumping rapidly, lungs aching as I tried to get in a breath. Tears still had my vision was blurry as they constantly fell down my cheeks. The grey sheets were squeezed between my tightened fists.
I squeezed my eyes shut trying to force myself to calm. The darkness didn’t help the sight of Eddie’s bloody smiling face filled my vision paired with the sounds of him trying to talk through the pain. My breathing only quickened sobs escaping between short harsh breaths. ‘I think it’s finally my year sweetheart.’ I wanted to beg for it to stop, to feel anything but this.
His name fell from my lips in the form of a wail. This was the kind of thing only he would have been able to remedy. The kind of heartbreak only he could fix in that way he managed to fix any kind of problems in my life. My trembling hands move to my right where the leather jacket rests against what was his pillow when he would spend the night. I hugged the jacket bringing the leather to my face.
The fading smell of nicotine, pot, and drugstore cologne filled my lungs. I had wished I could bottle the smell so it never went away. As much as I used to complain about the lingering smell I’d do anything to smell his cigarettes again. Hell I’d do anything to have any part of him back. Since the day he died I had felt dead myself.
Third person
Dustin sat with his back to his sisters door listening to her sobs. Silent tears of his own spilled down his small cheeks and down his chin. He hated seeing her like this, in so much pain grieving over someone she should have spent the rest of her life with. The young boy wanted nothing more than to help her, bring her comfort of any kind but it seemed like there was nothing that could help. He used the sleeve of his pajama shirt to wipe off his face.
The sobbing seemed to have died down so quietly Dustin pulled himself up and cracked open the door. His sister was clutching Eddie’s jacket with a death grip against her chest. Her eyes fluttered and she made brief pained noises but she was definitely back to sleep. Dustin slowly approached the bed pulling the covers over her body just the way she used to when she’d tuck him in. His lips trembled as he placed a kiss on her forehead eyes welling up with tears once again.
Rather than returning to his own room Dustin grabbed an extra blanket from the door of her bed and took a seat in the armchair that sat in the corner of the room. His eyes watched his sister like her life depended on it. Despite the uncomfortableness of the chair mixed with awkwardness of the position Dustin stayed unbothered. She had taken care of him hundreds of times before it was time he returned the favor now that she needed him the way he needed her. Closing his eyes sleep slowly took over the young boy.
It wasn’t an easy night she had woken up or almost woken up many times, but come morning time she was still fast asleep seemingly dreamless this time. Dustin carefully snuck out of the room just as he had entered. Thankfully their mom was volunteering over at the school so he had the day to make sure she was looked after okay without hiding the secrets of how Eddie died exactly. With a tired yawn he made his way into the kitchen.
On the countertop rested a grocery bag with a sticky note on top. ‘Dustin (Y/n), I’ll be at the school till 6 if you need me, and here’s the things you asked for Dustin. Love mom.’ Dustin grinned a little ripping the cereal box from the bag. He threw open the fridge snatching the milk followed by scrambling into the cupboards for two bowls and two spoons. With his arms full of his bounty he made his way back upstairs to her room.
(Y/n) was awake this time her cold eyes staring at the wall freshly fallen tears staining her cheeks. “Oh good you’re awake! I have a surprise for you!” Dustin cheered. (Y/n) didn’t respond or even move her eyes away from the wall. Nonetheless Dustin haphazardly tossed the stuff onto the bedside table.
“Okay so I begged and begged and got mom to buy us your favorite cereal from when we were kids and she did! Look I’ll even let you keep the toy without playing Rock Paper Scissors for it!”
Crickets. Absolutely no sign of life from the girl laid across the bed. Dustin frowned taking a seat on the bed. He wasn’t even sure when the last time she had actually eaten anything was. Over the last few days her plates seemed to be returned to the kitchen still completely full. The last time he could even remember her eating at least something she ended up getting nauseous in the middle of the night throwing it all up while Dustin held her hair back.
“Remember that when we were kids? How we used to fight over the toy? Even though I’m pretty sure you always let me win because I was your baby brother.”
This time (Y/n) rolled over facing the opposite side of the room making Dustin’s heart break a little more. “I’m not hungry.” Was mumbled into the blanket as (Y/n) pulled it closer to her chin. “But it’s got marshmallows in it and everything! I thought we could eat it on the couch and watch Ghostbusters.” He pleaded his voice cracking. It was no use she wasn’t budging.
Dejected Dustin collects the cereal stuff going downstairs. When he got to the kitchen he let the stuff crash into the sink a sob breaking through his lips. His shoulders heaved fists clenching the metal so hard his knuckles were ghost white. Dustin couldn’t do this alone he needed help if he was gonna get her out this. He knew exactly who he needed.
First
I hated the way my brother left the room crying but I couldn’t find the strength to do anything. Everything felt numb since Eddie had died, and if I wasn’t numb I was in deep pain. I reached under my bed pulling out one of the few things that brought me any kind of relief. The brown bottle was nearing its end even though it had been full just two days ago. However based on the state of Hawkins a small drinking problem seemed like the least of my worries.
I took a swig the contents causing a nice burn on its way down my throat. Not slowing down I kept chugging from the bottle. The pictures of us on my vanity caught my eye, one in particular that seemed to stare at me tauntingly. It was one from the Metallica concert we ended up in last summer. Eddie had never been happier he even begged for me to get on his shoulders for a photo said it was like a fantasy of his, pretty girl on his shoulders for a rock concert.
“Eddie are you serious I’m too heavy for that!”
“I’m wounded you think so little of my strength baby! I’ll be fine please can I put you on my shoulders for one song?”
“Why do you want this so bad?”
“Uh it’s like every metal heads dream to have his smokin hot girl on his shoulders while some awesome band shreds on stage, duh.”
“Fine how can I say no to that face.”
Within seconds I was scooped up onto his shoulders his ring covered fingers had a strong grip on my thighs. “So fucking metal!” I heard him cheer from under me. I couldn’t help but giggle at his excitement. He had Gareth take my Polaroid camera from my bag snapping a photo of us. The one song had turned into three but eventually he sat me down only to pull me right into his arms.
“Thank you for this.”
“Why are you thanking me Ed’s?”
“For going to this with me and letting me put you on my shoulders. This is all a dream come true for me.”
“I care about you Eddie I’d do anything for you.”
His lips meant mine in a feverish kiss his grip on me tight and almost possessive. The kiss was hot and a lot of tongue and spit but it was perfect. When we pulled apart he was looking at me so softly. Between his bandanna keeping the hair from his face and his Metallica shirt with the sleeves cut off he looked like an absolute dream.
“I love you.” He breathed out a nervous grin on his face. The words made my heart skip a beat and a warmth to my chest. Neither of us had said those three words yet but somehow this seemed like perfect place. “I love you too.” I giggled kissing him again. He had an almost proud smile on his face when we pulled apart.
“Keep it up Munson I’ll even let you have sex during a Metallica concert.” I teased making his eyes light up excited a small blush coming to his cheeks. “Holy shit for real? Don’t play with me like that sweetheart.” He almost pleaded. I rolled my eyes laughing but pulled him in for another kiss. “I love you so much.” He mumbled into the kiss.
A firm knock at the door pulled me away from the pleasant memory. Assuming it was Dustin again I didn’t bother to turn around. “I said I’m not hungry Dustin I’ll eat later okay?” I choked out with a sniffle. “It’s not Dustin (Y/n) it’s Steve. Robin and Nancy took Dustin to grab some food.” He informed me entering the room to stand in front of me.
He had his hands placed on his hips a concerned look on his face. “What do you want Harrington?” I groaned sitting up. “Dustin’s worried sick about you, we all are.” He informed me. “Maybe you guys should be.” I scoffed rolling my eyes and crossing my arms over my chest. Steve frowned moving the bottle to the bedside table and kneeling in front of the bed.
“Look I know this is hard. I know how much you miss him but this isn’t healthy.”
“I’ll be fine Steve.”
“I know that but you’re hurting Dustin. He needs you. He’s already lost so much. You know he’s hurting too right? That Eddie’s death had a huge effect on him?”
“You don’t think I don’t know that? I want to help him Steve I do but I don’t know how to when I can’t even help myself.”
I was sobbing now tears pouring, snot running, throat burning. Steve reached out grabbing my hand in his. “Then let us help you, help you both.” He whispered. I could only nod weakly biting on my lip. Steve carefully pulled the covers back scooping me into his arms.
“Jesus okay after this you’re eating something you are way to light.” He tried to be light hearted but I couldn’t even muster a smile. Steve and I had become really close friends over the years of dealing with the upside down and the creatures that came with it but him seeing me so vulnerable and so broken was a first. In the bath boom he sat me down on the closed toilet lid. I didn’t know what to say or do while he messed with the water so I just sat staring at my feet. A warm bath sounded nice but it the past weeks I hadn’t had energy to do anything or even move.
“No! I don’t want to! Let me go!”
“I’m sorry (y/n) we have to get you cleaned up. Your wounds will get infected.”
“You can’t just wash him away! You can’t pretend he didn’t fucking exist!”
My pleas went unheard as the water was turned on spraying harshly over my body. The blood and dirt ran down my skin circling the drain. Tears streamed down my face as the blood came completely off the remnants of him disappearing. It was like I was washing Eddie off getting rid of everything that was left. I felt my heart break even more.
“Okay um I’ll get you some clothes if you want to go ahead and get in.” Steve instructed me. I blinked a few times pushing away the tears from the memory. Forcing a quiet thank you I nodded slowly. With that Steve left going off to my room. I shrugged my clothes off stepping into the warm water.
The heat felt almost soothing to my tired muscles so I let out a sigh sinking down to my shoulders. Bubbles filled the tub touching my chin as I laid in the tub. I closed my eyes hoping to just relax and not think for a while. After a few minutes I opened my eyes staring at the scarring wounds on my arm. The bat bites from our first fight with them.
One had gotten me pretty good before Eddie had knocked it off with his oar. I remember complaining to him about how much it had hurt. He must have been In so much pain when they bombarded him. They had hurt him bad enough to kill him yet he managed to smile and I had complained about a little flesh wound. I ran my fingers across the one of the particularly jagged scars.
Tears were beginning to spill over again dropping into the bubble covered water. I allowed myself to sink down into the water pulling my head below the surface. It was so easy to just imagine all of this just disappearing. That everything could just stop, no more pain or sadness. It could all just end finally escaping the misery that had followed Eddie’s death.
Third person
Steve gathered pieces of clothing that were clean and something different than her hellfire club shirt. Hopefully she would at least allow him to run the outfit through the wash. He paused for a moment picking up a picture of Eddie that rested on the dresser. The feeling of guilt washed over him again as Steve looked down at the framed photo of the metal head. Not only had Steve spent a lot of high school making fun of Eddie but he had to leave his body in the upside down.
“Help me Steve please we have to bring him back just help me please.”
“(Y/n) I’m sorry we have to go.”
“No I won’t leave him please Steve please!”
“I’m sorry. I’m so so sorry.”
Steve bent down grabbing (Y/n) by the waist hoisting her up. She kicked and thrashed pleading for help begging for Eddie. It broke Steve’s heart to ignore her to drag her back to the trailer away from his body but he had no choice to protect her and the others. He had already convinced Dustin to go promising to have his sister follow. “Please Steve we can’t leave him.” She pleaded weakly one last time.
“I’m sorry Eddie.” Steve breathed putting the photo back in its place. Truth be told Steve had gone back with Nancy properly armed to bring home Eddie’s body shortly after everyone else was back. Unfortunately they didn’t find him, they only found a trail of blood leading away. It had appeared that demogorgons or demo dogs had found him taking what was left. They followed the trail only finding a lone demo dog tearing into the remains of some bloody carcass on the ground not enough left to bring home to bury.
Steve grabbed what he needed making his way back to the bathroom. He started with a soft knock not wanting to barge in with her naked. “(Y/n) I brought you some clothes do you want me to come in or leave them out here?” He called out. There was no response so he knocked again. Still nothing even after calling out her name.
Steve forced the door open the clothes crashing to the floor. The handle hit the wall with a loud crack probably causing some damage Steve would have to worry about later. However the sight in front of him is what had him worried, sick to his stomach even. (Y/n) was still under the surface of the water unmoving. He cursed under his breath jumping into action.
Steve pushed his arms into the water around (Y/n)’s waist pulling her forwards out of the water. The two collapsed onto the bathroom floor water spilling onto the tile. “Damn it (Y/n) you can’t do this shit!” Steve snapped helping her sit up straight. She began coughing up the water she had inhaled in the struggle. “What the hell Steve?” She choked angrily.
“What the hell were you doing? You really think that’s the way out of this?”
“Steve I wasn’t-”
“Bullshit! You can’t do this crap (Y/n) he can’t lose you too! Don’t make him go through that!”
“Steve really I wasn’t!”
“Then what we’re you doing (Y/n)?”
“I-I don’t know I was just thinking and I guess I thought- I don’t know.”
Steve wrapped his arms around her pulling her back into his chest. She was sobbing again but no noise came out just silent tears her body shaking. He had tears of his own falling as he held (Y/n) like her life depended on it. Water soaked through his clothes making them stick to his skin. She turned in his arms hurrying her face in his shoulder her fists bunching up his shirt tightly.
Once things seemed to calm down again Steve helped (Y/n) up and into some clean clothes. Nancy Robin had returned with Dustin and some fast food and we’re setting up shop. (Y/n) had a seat on the couch with Dustin while Steve took the other girls into the kitchen to talk about what he witnessed. The group decided that they’d keep watch on (Y/n) each taking shifts even if she disagreed, as long as she wasn’t alone. They’d later fill in Dustin and the others for back up.
It had been about two weeks since the bath tub incident and (Y/n) had hardly been left alone even to go to the bathroom. She was under around the clock surveillance but it wasn’t helping her get any better. Even surrounded by her closest friends she felt more isolated than ever. Tonight it was Dustin and Steve’s shift so Steve took the arm chair while Dustin had a sleeping bag on the floor. Dustin was fast asleep already while Steve sat up reading a magazine but even his eyes were getting heavy.
(Y/n) reached into her drawer pulling out a small notebook. While she wrote her note she kept an eye on Steve watching as his head slumped to the side and the magazine fell into his lap. She made quick work of writing down her thoughts as well as an apology. Grabbing Eddie’s jacket and stepping into my black sneakers I lifted the window as quietly as I could. With a final look at my brother and my good friend I make my way out into the summer night.
First person
A light breeze brushed against my face the smell of dew covered grass filling my noise. The water was still and darkened by the night sky a reflection of the moon and the stars littered the clear surface. Crickets chirping and frogs croaking were the only sounds surrounding me. I took a deep breath taking it all in. Lovers lake had been a place filled with many happy memories.
“Last one in is buying pizza!”
“No fair Munson you have giraffe legs!”
The man was already sprinting towards the water stripping his clothes behind him. I giggled pulling my own off struggling to keep up. With a loud splash Eddie dove into the water causing the surface to explode into endless ripples. I dove in next the brisk water catching me off guard. With a gasp I resurfaced wrapping my arms around Eddie’s shoulders.
“It’s freezing!”
“Well come closer baby girl I’ll warm you up.”
“Such a perv Eddie.”
“Can you blame a guy? Look at you. You’re beautiful.”
His words brought a warmth to my face. His arms wrapped around my waist pulling me flush against his chest. His brown curls stuck to his forehead his mouth twisted into a a Cheshire grin that on anyone else would seem disingenuous. If this had been a cartoon his pupils would be in the shape of over sized hearts as he watched me. He leaned in his hand cupping my jaw and our lips collided in a soft kiss.
“I love you (Y/n) Henderson.”
“I love you too Eddie Munson.”
A lone tear dragged down my cheek falling into the water below. I watched the small ripple move across the water. With a deep breath I turned my eyes up to the stars. Nights like these made me wander if Eddie was up there watching over me or if he had become a star himself. After all he had done I truly hope just maybe he had earned a spot somewhere better than Hawkins.
I shrugged off Eddie’s jacket placing it on the pier kicking off my shoes next to it. Using a decent sized rock I placed my note on top of the leather. Hopefully it was enough of an apology for my friends. Realistically I knew how hurt they’d be, how angry, Dustin especially would be heartbroken. But I knew Steve would be there to take care of him.
“I’ll see you soon Eddie.” I whispered stepping to the very end of the dock. My hellfire club shirt did little to protect my skin from the cool night air. The chill mixed with the heavy remains of alcohol in my system made goosebumps form on my arms. My foot begins to move away from the wood of the dock and towards the lakes surface. Before I could urge my weight into the water the shuffling of leaves behind me startled me backwards.
I spun around being met with emptiness, no sign of anyone around. “Hello is someone there?” I called out hearing it echo back slightly. There was no response or any hint of movement. “Damn squirrels.” I cursed turning back towards the water. I took another breath to calm myself preparing for what I was about to do.
The sound of wood creaking behind me made me freeze goosebumps covering my arms out of fear this time. Someone standing right behind me towering over me. My eyes cautiously moved to the reflection in the water. The figure behind me was not only taller but had large wings exposed behind its back. I slowly turned around taking in the full sight of the figure.
Large bat like wings, sharp fanged teeth, a bloodied shirt. What I was seeing was impossible I must have had more to drink than I had thought. It wasn’t the first hallucination I had but none of the others had been like this. I wanted to run to scream to do anything but just stand there gawking. The figure stepped forward by another step moonlight revealing more of his appearance.
A gasp fell from my lips tears pooling in my eyes again. I had thought it was impossible before but now I was undoubtedly certain I must be hallucinating unless I had already died and this is what came after. “H-how? I thought- I saw-.” My voice wobbled as my trembling legs brought me back farther on the dock. Before I could get any kind of answer everything went black.
